August 6, 2005 Mexican Riviera..Who's In?

Vickie, I wish we could say that school is almost out. DD still has another month left, they get out 6/14. I think the last 2 or 3 days are half days. They seem like such a waste of time, they don't do anything those days and they even have lunch period before they leave.

Barb,
Mine don't get out until June 16th but that IS almost out to me! Everyday just seems to fly by the last month of school and next thing you know its finals! And those last 2 days are half days (finals) here too.
I think we finally decided to fly down the morning of the cruise arriving early and stay one night after the cruise with 2 day park hopper tickets. Trying to conserve money on that part of the trip so we really had a hard time deciding on doing the parks or not. The kids were ok with just the cruise and skipping the parks but we kept thinking since we would be right there we would end up being disappointed not doing the parks. We will not be staying at one of the Disney hotels, decided that was somewhere we could cut costs since it is only one night. So now that we made up our minds I called our TA to book it and he's off today!
So Stacey I'd love to meet for lunch after the cruise!

Hi Patricia! - My DD Brynee and I will be on the cruise! My older DD Traci was just notified that she's been accepted to UCSD! She is so excited as that was her and fiance's first choice of UCs. Now we'll have an excuse to go to San Diego more often...last year our cruise (RCCL Monarch) stopped there on a beautiful day .

Vickie: We always stay at either the Tropicana or Park Inn right across the street on Harbor. The website is www.bei-hotels.com - they are 3 diamond AAA hotels with a free continental breakfast.

Barb: :cheer2:  Happy Anniversary on Friday!! :cheer2:

Yesterday I was diagnosed with "early appendicitis" so I am taking it easy with hopes that it resolves by itself. I was planning on spending next weekend with Traci for her 20th bd. And then, there's Grad Nite the following week . I am feeling a little better than yesterday and at least it hasn't gotten worse!

Jenny, I hope it resolves by itself for you! I will say a prayer. :sad2: This is a busy time of year to be unsure about health issues. I hadn't remembered you had an older daughter until you mentioned her a few times lately. That is wonderful that she is going to UCSD - it sounds like such a wonderful place to live. A friend from work had lived there, moved back to CT, but moved back once her kids graduated high school. She still works for us remotely from home (we have a lot of people who work out of their homes, but you have to be outside 50 miles from one of our offices. I am 22 miles from our office but they do let me work from home whenever I need to.

Vickie, we are staying at the Best Western Park Place Inn. It's right across from DTD on Harbor. They have free continental breakfast and free parking. I found it in the AAA book and it looks very nice. We are going to be using the last of my Comp tickets that I received as a CM for the 2 days we are going to the parks.

Alexa has so many projects to do for the end of the year, it really is silly. So this last month will take forever.

Stacey, I see that your begging did work. Silly me thinking it wouldn't.

Jenny, thanks for the early anniversary wish. Isn't that your older DD's b'day? If so then :Pinkbounc Happy Birthday to her :Pinkbounc

:cheer2: Yea Traci !!! Congrats!!!!!!

Jenny.....I hope this works out okay for you. I'll keep you in my prayers too.

Sure leave us once again. Then you will do it 2 more times over the next couple of weeks. Don't you ever stay home?!? :rotfl2: :cool1: :love2:

It's late and I guess I'm thinking too much. I'm looking at my counters and wondering which one sounds the shortest.....2 months and 3 weeks or 82 days. :confused3 :smooth:

Thinking too much??? :rotfl2: :rotfl: Me thinks you don't have enough to think about!!

And no, I don't ever stay home. Why would I want to do that? They can FIND me here!:smooth: :smooth:

We finally sent off our passport applications yesterday and they said 4 to 6 weeks until they mail them. Today is my mother's birthday, I went over to visit her and chat. Dad went to Home Depot with DH.

DD has auditions for "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" this week after school on Thursday. Everyone is in it, usually the older high school kids get the main parts, but everyone sings in that play.

Cathy

Have you guys been reading the "Live from the May Repo" thread? It's been so exciting reading about the Magic heading our way!
Vickie

Thanks everyone, for sending prayers and positive thoughts my way! I am doing much better after being :scared: ; fortunately, my Dr. is also a surgeon and he knew it was too early for surgery. I've never had surgery so I didn't know what to expect. Hopefully, my appendix will continue to improve.

Vickie: I've checked the "repo" thread and it is exciting...I showed the pics to Brynée who thought it was so :cool2: . That is so neat that they took the time to post all those photos!

Barb: Yes, Traci's bd is also on Friday. I wanted to wish you an early congrats for your anniversary :flower2: while I was thinking of it!

Jenny, I'm glad to hear you're doing better. I had never had surgery before my knee last November. It wasn't that bad but knee and appendix are very different! Hopefully you continue to improve and won't need surgery!
Vickie

Jenny, glad to hear you are improving. Hopefully things will keep progressing positively. I've had 2 surgeries; a C-section and my wrist. Neither was fun, but both needed.
Also, thanks for the early anniversary wishes.

I've been reading the May Repo thread too. It's been fun to read about all the different things they are getting to do. I hope they do a few of those things on our cruise.

Cathy, I'm thinking you may get your passports sooner than they told you . The last time we had to get DD's we had it back in less than 2 weeks.

A T.O.P. that I didn't even realize until after Jenny pointed it out to me. Thanks. :flower:

Barb: You should claim you T.O.P!! Stacey would be proud!!

My only concern regarding surgery was that my Dr. (who is now too old to do surgery) said to go to the emergency room if my pain worsened and whoever was "on call" would do the surgery! That's what I was afraid of unless, of course, I could get the surgeon from "Grey's Anatomy" :) .

Traci called last night to say her fiancé, who was having similar symptoms as I, was hospitalized for an inflamed colon :scared1:. They both are science majors so they are taking this very matter-of-factly. Morgan will be in the hospital until Thursday; thanks to the internet I was able to order flowers/balloons to be sent to him today. DH thinks his problems may be related to camping trips they have taken for Traci's environmental bio class.

Barb: Do you have special plans for your anniversary??

Jenny, I didn't even realize it was a T.O.P., thanks for pointing it out. After I posted I just clicked off the DIS site.
We don't have any plans as of yet since we decided to not go to WDW. We usually make last minute plans.

I have had two surgeries (breast reduction and laprascopy for a tubal pregnancy) and they went okay (both also needed). They take good care of you. Hopefully you won't need it though...

Cathy

Hey Everyone - well, the good news: I got my new Disney Visa card - too cool! The bad news: I was going up the steps at my house yesterday morning (only 3 steps), forgot something, spun around to go back down the steps and misjudged how many steps there were (thought there was only one and there were actually two). My body went one way and my feet went the other way at the ankles. Had a minor sprain to my left ankle and an avulsion fracture of my right ankle. I took the afternoon off work yesterday and iced it but had to go back to work today. Took off a little early - my ankle was throbbing. I had to navigate using a crutch and have an air cast on it. :( It's feeling a WHOLE lot better than yesterday but is still pretty tender when I put weight on it. More of a nuisance than anything else.

Welcome to Patricia! :wave2: We'll be at DL for 3 days before the cruise with my DH (Seth), 6DS (Rhys), and 8DD (Amina).

Jenny - CONGRATS to your DD on being accepted to UCSD! :cool1: I hope you're feeling better!

Happy Anniversary to Barb! :flower:

DS had his "graduation" from kindergarten last Friday night - he looked so HANDSOME in his grad cap! DD had her voice recital on Sunday which went well - she sang "Colors of the Wind". <proud mama icon here!> :)

There's a pin sale going at Disney direct.com right now with free shipping if anyone is interested: http://disney.store.go.com/DSSectionPage.process?Merchant_Id=2&Section_Id=14751

I ordered some stuff from DD - some summer pjs for the kids and new swimsuits for DD and me. Gotta take advantage of that free shipping! ;)

Have a great rest of the week everyone ~
