I'm not sure if you can specify which Disney Dollars you can order. If you don't need them until May or so I can probably get them and send them to you. Just let me know and I will see what I can do.
It helps to have friends in special places :)

Awesome! It takes 1.5 hours for me to drive out to the city and at the price of gas these days - it would make sense to pay for shipping or an order fee! Hey, I haven't tried the private message thing....maybe I'll give that a try and give you the info you need. Thanks so much for offering! :flower:

Oops - sorry about the double post....

Good job on the T.O.P. I think you really did read this thread and take lessons from Stacey on how to pirate: a T.O.P.

:worship: I learned from the best! :rotfl:

Plus, we have racked up a lot of Disney Visa reward dollars for "cruise fun  "

So have we! Although I just spent some over the weekend at the Disney Store getting a few things I thought the kids might like for the trip. How come they always seem to have things on sale at the Disney Store and you NEVER see anything on property "on sale"??

Jenny, Sara did the "dolphin encounter" on the big island. It was expensive and she really enjoyed it but the way it was set up was a very controlled group activity. They learned how to give commands and the dolphins would follow. They could touch the dolphins when they were told to etc. and they had a picture taken with a dolphin kissing their cheek. I don't know if this was just their set up or if it had anything to do with her age group. She was a month away from 9 but Kenney was glad he had not done it (there were no openings in his age group and we had booked 6 weeks before going). I thought it was a little over priced for what it was but seeing how much she enjoyed it, it was worth every cent! No this was the one in Hawaii so I don't know anything about the one in Mexico but I think the point I'm trying to make is that even though I thought it was overpriced and not really what I expected it was worth every cent seeing how much she enjoyed it!
I'm off to the Giants game!
Vickie

Hope you had fun at the game. I'm still leaning towards doing it but I just ordered the new edition of Passporter for DCL that includes the Western cruise and all the excursions. Maybe the book will shed some more light and help me decide on which excursions to take. If we do it, I'll have to go with the kids and buy a water camera!

I have a SeaLife 35mm underwater camera, but it was $$ and it's kind of a pain, lots of "parts" to drag around. The other day I was at the mall and for some reason I stopped into the camera store (and of course, right now I don't remember the name of it)....but they have disposable SeaLife 35mm's WITH a flash! If you want good underwater pics, you have to have a flash......I bought a few of them...I think the original casing was $19.99 or so, and then the "refill" (disposable camera) was maybe $9.99........

We used disposable Kodak underwater cameras in Hawaii. Pictures came out pretty good. I'm sure they would be much better with a "real" camera but we used them for snorkling on Maui and got really nice pictures and then finished up the roll out of the water and they were good pictures too. Don't remember if they had a flash but I'm thinking they did. I bought them on sale and we were happy with them.

Target carried a disposable underwater camera with a flash for a while, but they haven't had them in a long time. The Kodak and Fuji ones they have now don't have a flash. If there's a lot of sun, you can get good pics no matter what.
Still haven't remembered the name of the camera store!

Vickie - Thanks for sharing Sara's experience! I know it's something Brynée will cherish. PV excursions are the 'dolphin encounter' and the 'swim with the dolphins.' I'm going to try to get her into the 'swim.'
We'll be going to a Giants game the end of August when the Mets are in town. Do you think Barry might be playing this season? It was really impressive watching him in left field these past 2 years. We enjoy sitting in the left-center bleacher area :sunny:

Eve - I just double-checked the excursion info on the DCL site and it states that cameras are not allowed in the pools :sad2: If we are on the same excursion, I could take pics for you as I'll just go as an observer.

Fuji cameras have always worked for us when snorkeling in Hawaii. Fuji is supposed to pick up more greens/blues and Kodak more reds/orange...that's what a Long's drug photo guy told me. I'm not sure if that's true but we did get great pics of fish, sea turtles and eels :goodvibes

Jenny, I hope Barry will be playing this season! It was sure sad to see him hobbling out there when they introduced him yesterday! I kept saying he looks like an old man! It was touching to see him cry when the crowd cheered, chanted and stood for him! I really think he needed to see that everyone is still behind him!
I would definately suggest the "dolphin swim" over the encounter, although like I said it was an experience Sara will never forget!
Vickie

DH used a Fuji disposable underwater camera at Castaway Cay and the pictures came out rather well. The ones we took out of the water were pretty good too.
I guess I better start looking at the excursions again since we are home from vacation.

Bummer....thanks for the offer. I might just have to take you up on it depending on which excursion we decide to take! I haven't used a film camera in YEARS. I might just dabble with a waterproof camera just so I don't have to worry about my digital one.

Just to let everyone know that our family is still on this cruise. Just a brief update I live in California near Palm Springs, and my Dh, DS (6), DD (2), and my MIL are all going on this cruise. We have been booked since May of last year. I saw in a previous post that I believe Eve has a DS (6) also. I hope our boys get together in the club and have fun. Just thought I would pop in my head and say I still here and hello!!!!

Hi Courtney! Good to see you again! What is your DS' name? That would be great if our boys got hooked up on the cruise. When does(did) he turn 6? :sunny:

Well, thought this would be a good opportunity to recap who's who on the cruise:

(correct me if I'm wrong...)

Catnip0113(Cathy), DH (Steve), 13DD (Jessica) - will be staying at the DL hotel before the cruise; Live in CT and have 3 cats; collects fridge magnets (so do we!); fan of the tv show Big Brother and is a Red Sox fan.

Jilljill (Barb), DH (Jay), 11DD (Alexa) - will be staying at CL after the cruise; live in Delaware; used to be a CM at a Disney Store; cabin 2078; building (built?) a house with Disney accents.

Maddie'smommy, DH, 2DD and family, school class; live in CA

Kidoctr(Eve), DH (Seth), 8DD (Amina), 6DS (Rhys) - live in OK; we're both doctors; play the violin for fun; have no idea what cabin we're in; staying at Grand Californian before cruise;

Feel free to fill in any blanks everyone......

Hey, Eve and Everyone!
My son's name is Ryan. He is currently in first grade and he will turn seven on day two of the ship. So it is safe to say that we are going because of his birthday! He is so excited. I see by the previous post that the majority of people are going to DL before or after the cruise. We went two weeks ago for spring break and had lots of fun. My DS favorite ride was Soarin over CA at California Adventure. Sorry to ramble!!

Courtney

Great job Eve :cheer2: I've saved your post to my flashdrive!

I have been trying to access "My Disney Cruise" on the DCL website, but when I plug in my ressie # and the AAA phone # it won't accept it. My TA called Disney and they said to use my home phone # and it still won't accept it. What phone # do you use to access the "my cruise" area?

Anyway, I am paying off my balance :faint: so that I can book the excursion as soon as we hit the 90 day mark! DH thought the "swim" might be dangerous as he had watched a program where tourists had been attacked by the dolphins; but I am trusting that everything will be OK :bitelip:

Picked up a Tink sleepwear set on sale at Kohl's today - "I Fly, You Don't - Get Over It!" At least I'm set for nights on the cruise!
