How do you think THIS would go over with all the parents:
Take a group of girls to a huge suite in Las Vegas ......:confused3 Somehow, I don't see THAT happening !!
Maybe if the mom's went to it would go over rather well :bitelip: . That would work for me

Cathy: Thanks for the welcome! According to my notes, the link to Vickie's pics are post #403 and the link to Stacey's pics are post #398. :teeth: There are a couple of ways to share pics: put them online through a service like shutterfly and then link to it, or put the pics on a web host like Ripway (free) and then insert the image in your post (what I did). If you have pics to post, I can certainly do that for you - just email me your pics. Use [my nic] at hotmail.

I think I recall you posting that you will be staying at the DL hotel before the cruise. We're staying at the Grand Californian from Wed to Sat. Maybe we can hook up before the cruise?

A belated :bday: to your DH!

Do you think it's true that if you always take the stairs you won't gain too much??

LOL - I think that depends on how high and how often.....:duck:

All - Wow, what a busy weekend! How strange that both Terry Schiavo and the Pope died this week and our local symphony just performed Brahm's German Requiem last night and this afternoon. It was so....fitting. :charac2: <------ (one of the few .gifs I haven't seen used in this thread ).

I checked with the Disney store this morning - no Disney Dollars until next month! Apparently, they are "re-doing" them for the 50th anniversary. I was really hoping to get my hands on some so the kids can start "earning" their vacation money!

A WDW party for Jordan would be cool :cool1: Brynee celebrated her 15th at WDW with lunch with an Imagineer at the Brown Derby and then dinner in the castle princess:;and she was hinting that a Spring Break trip to WDW would be a great pre-16th birthday trip ;) . That's why we took her to DL/DCA instead and she wore the DL Birthday sticker (they don't give out buttons) She's planning to have a dress-up miniature golf outing  Her group of 7 girls likes to go all out with "fun/wacky" themes.
Took Brynee to Pier 1 today and ended up buying some furniture so, back to rearranging the living room :)
Have a great Monday everyone :flower:

Eve I meant to reply to your post about the Disney Dollars and the Disney Store's not having them until later this month or next month. You can order them from WDW in increments of $50.00 charged to each credit card. There is a $3.00 shipping fee for the entire order. They can only charge $50.00 to each card, if the order is for more than that they have to process it as a cash advance. I think you can go online thru ticketing or you may be able to call 407-363-6200, WDW merchandise mail order, to order them directly.

Jenny, we tried to have Lunch with an Imagineer but they weren't offering it last week. I was bummed, it sounds so cool. My friend did it in December and loved the guy they had. Their lunch lasted just over 2 hours.

  We were going to be at the GC from Wednesday till Saturday too......I'm dying here.............

Jordan told me today that "all" she wants for her birthday this year is a cell phone and to redecorate her room. I only see that either one or both of these will end up costing me more than a trip to WDW in the long run........

Stacey, We got our kids pre paid cell phones because that way they can't run up the bill and we can get ahold of them in an emergency and they could always get ahold of us. It's a real good starting point and with limited time on it they learn fast they can't "chat" forever with friends!

Eve - Thanks for the posts with the photo links! I will see if I have any photos. I don't have a digital camera yet, but I have gotten some photos on CD or over the internet.

I am staying at DL hotel from Thursday to Saturday. They call it a 3 day, 2 night package, but one day we get there at 1pm (4pm to our bodies) and another day we have to leave to get on the ship. I saved the hints people gave me on what rides to make sure we get to.

I still haven't checked out the excursions, I brought them to Syracuse but never looked at them on the ride...

Stacey - ATT/Cingular has a great family plan - 9.99 for an additional line and it doesn't use up minutes when talking to other ATT/Cing users. Brynee has additional text messages and if she goes over she has to pay for the overage :teeth: Between the 4 of us, we never use up our minutes.

Eve - Brynee says your kids are so precious  At first, she thought I was showing her pics of cousins :) Also, thanks for posting the other posts that have pics. I'll have to show her those too. Brynee is now thinking of doing the dolphin encounter. I'll have to get my ressie info to book when the time comes.

Barb - I had called a couple months in advance of our trip to set up the Imagineer lunch. The ressie CM wasn't showing anything for Spring Break so she gave me the # of Brown Derby and I talked with the person in charge of the lunches. Once he had a schedule set, he called me to let me know :goodvibes Brynee was thrilled - she lunched with an audio engineer who did the music for "rock'n rollercoaster"!

Brynee had a mani/pedi after school today. The manicurist I had set the appt. with wasn't even working today :confused3 But, fortunately the replacement manicurist did a wonderful job and put flowers on Brynee's fingers as a birthday gift :rose: Now she's all set for her big day tomorrow!

Thanks for the info Jilljill. I found a fax number in a different thread to order Disney Dollars but the service charge was $10. Do you know if I can order the new (50th anniversary) dollars this way too? I might have time to give them a call tomorrow if it isn't too busy at work...

Cathy

I'm going to order Ridemax when we get closer to going. Apparently, you can use the RideMax program to give you an itinerary that is guaranteed to save time at DL and CA - very little time spent waiting in line. Here's the link:

http://www.ridemax.com/

I was planning on ordering anyways and playing with the program to come up with an itinerary for us. If anyone would like me to "plug in" some variables for your group, let me know. It looks like it can be customized according to date, number in your party, how fast/slow you walk, etc.

I still need to look at the excursions too....

Jenny - tell Brynee "thanks" for me. Would you be doing that dolphin encounter with her? I'm just wondering if I'll feel a bit short-changed afterwards for the price. Also, wish her a :bday: from us!

I'm not sure if you can specify which Disney Dollars you can order. If you don't need them until May or so I can probably get them and send them to you. Just let me know and I will see what I can do.
It helps to have friends in special places :)

OK - gonna have to claim this T.O.P. :cool1:
Good job on the T.O.P. I think you really did read this thread and take lessons from Stacey on how to pirate: a T.O.P.

Eve - Brynee will probably do the "swim with dolphins" and I'll just go along as an observer. We've never found a Hawaiian resort on Oahu or Maui that has the dolphins - only on the Big Island and we've yet to get there. So, even though she thinks it is a little expensive, I told her to go for it! Plus, we have racked up a lot of Disney Visa reward dollars for "cruise fun  "

Jenny, Sara did the "dolphin encounter" on the big island. It was expensive and she really enjoyed it but the way it was set up was a very controlled group activity. They learned how to give commands and the dolphins would follow. They could touch the dolphins when they were told to etc. and they had a picture taken with a dolphin kissing their cheek. I don't know if this was just their set up or if it had anything to do with her age group. She was a month away from 9 but Kenney was glad he had not done it (there were no openings in his age group and we had booked 6 weeks before going). I thought it was a little over priced for what it was but seeing how much she enjoyed it, it was worth every cent! No this was the one in Hawaii so I don't know anything about the one in Mexico but I think the point I'm trying to make is that even though I thought it was overpriced and not really what I expected it was worth every cent seeing how much she enjoyed it!
I'm off to the Giants game!
