August 6, 2005 Mexican Riviera..Who's In?

Stacey, I just noticed your counter for the Castaway Cay double dip. When is that cruise, spring of 2006? I don't think I can plan another cruise for our next vacation, but it is going to be so hard not to rebook on board! Other vacations are unknown if you don't know what you are getting into. We always think we are getting an ocean view or whatever and it isn't that great... Hey, maybe we can do a cruise from NYC to Bermuda. Then we wouldn't have to pay airfare. Hmmm. Has anyone ever done that?

Cathy

I see from the time that Cathy has posted until now the counters are all screwy  . What's up with that :confused3 ?

Cathy are you supposed to get the snow that we are supposed to get tomorrow? Now they are saying we could get 4-9 inches with sleet thrown in the mix.
I was looking at the cruises out of Baltimore or Philly to Bermuda. They don't sound that bad and no airfare either. Best of all it's only an hour's drive to either port. I know someone that did one of the Philly to Bermuda cruises last year and they didn't think it was that bad.
Stacey, see you can fly here and we can cruise from here. Especially since you have to fly to a port anyways. Kill 2 birds with 1 stone, see me and go on a cruise :rotfl2: .

I just read a thread that said they had to turn off the HTML used on the boards. Here's a link to the thread to go about fixing your signature:

I'm technically challenged, so I may have a boring sig. This is going to have to wait until tomorrow when my brain is not so fuzzy  .

The snow :cold: started a couple hours ago and it's coming down pretty heavy for us. All the schools in the state were either closed or getting out early Except DD's :confused3 . No clue what their reasoning is. I'm not too happy about it; but I'm not getting her out early, she can't miss math this afternoon. She goes to a charter school so they can make their own rules.

I don't like these new tickers as much, but at least we can have something. I liked the hour and minute count.

We have a few inches so far, it is supposed to be 4 or 5 inches depending how how far inland the storm comes. We don't expect any sleet or changeover this time, it is cold. :cold:

Cathy

Hi there!

I'm not even going to try to do one of those tickers. I went to a couple of the sites, and I'm not smart enough to figure it out. I'll just keep watching yours.

We didn't get the rest of the rain they said we would, so I have been able to be out and about. They say there is more coming, so I'm enjoyng it while I can. Sort of. If you call working, enjoying. At least it's OUT.

Heading for bed....trying to decide if I want to stay home (HA) and do laundry tomorrow, or finally go to the mall. I haven't been since before Christmas...well, that's not true...Barb and I were there for all of 1/2 hr. I need a mall fix! But I don't need anything! I guess I could think of something.

TTYL

Fortunately we only got about 3-4 inches of snow :cold: yesterday. BUT, they say the big storm could come Sunday or Monday so we will have to wait and see. No school today, I guess they will go thru the middle of June again.

Stacey you would be able to figure out a ticker. If I can do it so can you :teeth: . But they aren't as nice as the countdown timers we used to have :sad2: .

We got 9 inches of snow, and they are talking about another Nor'easter for Tuesday (you probably get it sooner Barb being further south). I am ready for spring now! :flower1:

I am meeting friends for dinner tonight, we may go to a Brazilian restaurant in Hartford that is really good. Right now I am working at home and listening to a boring meeting for system requirements... :sad2:

Cathy

Way down on page two!:guilty:

Barb...I hope your DH is feeling much better today. Any more snow?
If you can't get out and go shopping....do what I do (and I KNOW you do!) shop online! Not quite the same, but better than nothing!

Very nice here the last few days. If it didn't rain until July, I'd be happy.

Just thought I would bump us up and say hello in between loads of laundry.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend!

Stacey

I guess it's my turn to get us off of page 2 :sad2: .

DH is feeling a bit better. At least today we were able to get out of the house and do some running around, if you call buying furniture at Ikea running around.

Calling for a nor'easter for tomorrow into Tuesday. Now they are saying we could get 6-12 inches of :cold: . I just want :sunny: and warm weather, enough of this white stuff and coldness. At least I get to see ::MickeyMo and ::MinnieMo in 25 days  :Pinkbounc , but it can't come soon enough.

Did anyone else get a PM from someone living in Puerto Vallarta? Is that normal?

We are expecting some snow, not sure how much. I think it depends on the track of the storm. It will be windy too I guess.

Cathy

No Pm's here....but that's strange...what was it about??

Our weather has turned gorgeous! I just hope it stays that way.

We have a couple of new things going on here, but I'm beat and going to bed early, which means I'll be up early...so I promise to write in the morning. I can see how anxious you all are to see what it is I had to say! LOL:rolleyes:

Anyway...talk to you tomorrow....anybody looking at shore excursions? I am!!

Stacey

It's nice to look out and see lots of :sunny: even tho it's very windy and cold. Fortunately we only ended up with about 4 inches of snow and it melted from the roadways, driveways and sidewalks by yesterday afternoon. Cathy, hopefully you made out just as well.

Stacey, we are all sitting on the edge of our seats waiting for your stories :rotfl2: .

Cathy, I didn't get a PM either.

I looked at shore excursions when they first came out and haven't looked at them since. I guess I should look them over and make a decision. Are we able to book them 60 or 90 days out?
DD still says she's not getting off the ship at any of the ports. We say she has to get off at 1 port, we are leaning towards Mazatlan. But then if jewelry stores are involved at any of the other ports she may change her mind rather quickly. I have no idea where she got the jewelry shopping gene from :confused3 ... :teeth: .

My, my don't we have an attitude this morning :earboy2: :love2: :mickeybar .
I guess that's what happens when you have taxes and the IRS to deal with today.

Thanks for the 90 day answer. Wow that means we only have a little over 2 months to decide :earseek: . Better get to looking and thinking.

She said she lived in Puerto Vallarta for 14 yrs. and had put together a tour guide to the area that she could email if I wanted. She promised no spam or timeshare, but I am too cynical, especially if I am the only one.

My TA sent me a passport form that Disney sent him, said they suggest you get one, although the raised seal birth certificates are okay...

Cathy I read last week or so that passport applications will require another $12. fee to be paid when applying. I believe this goes into effect on 3/8/05. So if you are thinking of getting passports I would apply this week to save the additional fee.
Fortunately all ours are still valid for now. Although mine will need to be renewed next year.

Checked my passport last night...good for a few more years. The kids will need new ones before next year.
I don't think I would accept a tour guide via an e-mail that I didn't request....it just sounds too fishy for me, and we almost always go out on our own at these islands & ports.

Well, I finished the business taxes and dropped the off....one less thing to worry about. Yippee! Now to do ours and Jay's dad's......

My oldest daughter, Megan, and her hubby rent (okay, live for free in) an apartment that Jay and I own. They are going to strike out on their own and get an apartment. They have 2 cats and my grandpuppy. The new apartment will only allow 2 pets. (Funny, MY apartment said NO pets!) Megan doesn't want to risk trying to find a home that will take both cats together, so she wants us to take the dog. He's a Lhasa Apso, cute as a bug....but I was just getting used to the idea of a "no pet home" after losing Molly. Not sure I'm ready yet.....but I guess it's better than if they had children and wanted/needed me to take them. I won't be ready for THAT for a LONG time!!

I've checked out the shore excursions....not a whole lot to do. I guess we'll do some snorkeling. And some SHOPPING!!
