August 6, 2005 Mexican Riviera..Who's In?

And a T.O.P. to go with it!!! Whoo hoo!!pirate:

Which reminds me, I am NOT, repeat...NOT dressing up for Pirate Night this time!
I'll wear their little bandana...but that's it!!

Did we really book this cruise over a year out?!? :earseek: Wow, time really is flying by and I need to get my butt in gear and work on our plans. With the white stuff that I see out my window now, planning a nice relaxing cruise in the warm (ok, HOT) :sunny: sounds like a great idea.

Someone on the main boards just posted that "Dreams" had excursions listed...on my way to take a look!

I just very quickly looked at the excursions on Dreams site. Sara came in and looked over my shoulder and saw the horseback riding one and says "we gotta do it" horses aren't my thing though. We'll see, I need to look closer, maybe I can talk her into something else.

Thank you for telling us about the excursions, I printed them all but I have to look at them another time. There are so many to choose from!

I remember when we were excited about 1 year left too. I have to start thinking about what I'll need and find the birth certificates again. Do we need passports or just the birth certificates and photo ids?

I don't know what to tell you about documentation that you will need. We all have passports so I never thought of that. You might want to call another cruise line that does Mexican cruises and ask them what documentation you need or call your TA.

I guess I will go over and take a look at the excursions just to see if anything intesests us or if it will be a strictly relaxing cruise.

Looks like they have some fun things to do. And plenty of relaxing, too.

My experience with going to Mexico is that all you need is a driver's license and maybe your voter registration card. I never needed anything for the kids.
But Disney's usual requirements may still stand. I'm bringing our passports. If you don't have a passport, then you need your original birth certificate with the raised seal.
Anyway, I'm going to assume that Disney will keep their same requirements.

That sounds good, I will bring the birth certificates again. I think if I needed a passport my TA would have said so. I bet it says on my confirmation document, I'll look.

We don't like to do too many planned things, especially when you have to get up early. We will probably hit a beach so my DH and DD can get their fix of the water. And we have to shop of course. I do like to see the area too, but it is hard to choose one tour - they all sound good sometimes. There seemed to be tons of choices. :earseek:

I am hoping to sleep in a little on this one. Take my time with my coffee on the verandah......
My family has to do the water thing. I want to sneak in some shopping, even if it is only at the port.
I talked to a gal at the beauty shop today who just got back from sailing in their own sailboat (my salon is in the rich end of town) to Cabo, Mazatlan...and a few other spots. Cabo sounds fantastic!! I hope everyone likes lobster, they're big, cheap and plentiful.

I am almost all caught up at work. About a half a day in there tomorrow. Then I need to take care of a few things here, make a calendar for Jay of all the kids' comings and goings, and pack.

The packing part is easy.....jeans and sweats. No makeup. Mom has shampoo and all that. Darn, I just wish it wasn't so cold there. I'm a big wimp, I've been away from it for too long.
It's supposed to rain here for the rest of the week. I may end up NOT going. If our creek floods, I won't get out!

Oh well...off to bed. Have a great day tomorrow!

Where did you used to live, in Nebraska? I am getting sick of this weather, it is snowing again today (6 to 8 inches) but at least I can work from home. There is no school again, the kids will be going all summer to make it up! The worst is the day after when the snow on the side of the road is all dirty and cars are filthy with dirt and salt residue... My coat and purse get dirty if they touch the car. I have to close my eyes and imagine my verandah, enjoying coffee out there sounds heavenly!

Just letting you know that the prices for Puerto Vallarta have been added as well as the times of the excursions at all of the ports. :cool1:

Thank you so much for letting us know this. I was just looking at them and didn't even notice the change.

Thank you for the information Regina!

I just saw this new smiley and thought it was appripriate to use this morning since it really is :cold: here.
I'm sure Stacey will give me some kind of comment so I can use some of the other new ones in the future  .

:cold: BYE everyone! Heading for frozen land....I truly expect all of you to feel really sorry for me! (yeah, right)
I will just keep counting down to the cruise...maybe I can go to a "special place" in my mind.... now I think I have really wigged out!

Talk to you this weekend!
Stacey

Stacey - keep warm :cold: hopefully your Mom has a quick and full recovery.

I have a spa day planned tomorrow. DH gave me a gift certificate for Christmas and I invited my sister in law to go with me. We are having massages and facials at a spa in San Francisco. Maybe I will close my eyes and pretend I'm on the Magic

:cold: I am afraid I have no sympathy for you Stacey because I have to spend all winter in the :cold: Today it was 2 degrees with wind chills in the negative teens. I was afraid my DD would freeze at the end of the driveway waiting for the bus. She won't wear a hat so I made her put her scarf over her ears until the bus was coming. It is supposed to be above freezing on Sunday though  35 degrees - maybe some of the snow will melt!

Cathy

Stacey, hope you arrived safely and are suffering the :cold: weather like the rest of us :earboy2: .

I broke down and went to see the doctor yesterday and I have Pneumonia. She put me on an antibiotic and a cough syrup. Hopefully I will feel better soon.

Made our plane reservations yesterday. We are flying into Long Beach airport on the 5th and flying out of Oakland on the 20th. We are staying for 3 days near D'land after the cruise and then heading north to see a friend for a few days and then spending the day in San Francisco on the 19th. Now I just need to work on hotel rooms, I have them for the night before the cruise and the night before we fly home.

Vickie, have fun at the spa.
Cathy, stay warm.
Stacey, keep your sanity.

Hope you feel better soon Jilljill, seems like everyone is getting sick - as long as we are all okay in August.

Hope things are going well for you Stacey on your trip and that your mother is doing well. Maybe there will be unexpected warmer weather there. Once in awhile we get a mild winter here.

I wish I could stay longer in CA but we are leaving on the 13th for the long trip home (compared to going home from Florida anyway) and then there is the time change where we lose 3 hours. At least we gain it going out there, but it will be later to our bodies and they count that as one of our package days. My DH is very "early to bed" as he gets up very early (even on vacation). Last time with the late dinner seating, we didn't do much after dinner...
