August 6, 2005 Mexican Riviera..Who's In?

Hi there! I made it...and I haven't frozen yet. Its been in the 30's and supposed to get to the 40's, I can live with that.

We brought Mom home today (via ambulance) and she is doing really well. She woke up a bit ago (we had actually just gotten her into bed and asleep) and she had muscle spasms, so we walked a little, and got her comfy again.

So....so far, so good. But I will be sooooooooo ready for this cruise.

Crud...I think she woke up again...

I think in order to save Stacey from the :cold: and snow, we got about 3 inches overnight.

Oh yes, we just got the top edge and a dusting in CT, you must have gotten the brunt of it!

Cathy :cold: :cold:

Reading about the snow and cold weather makes me happy I live in sunny California :sunny: Although I was whining this morning when I left for my Weight Watchers meeting because there was ice on my car windows we hit the low 60's today and the sun was shining all day.
Had a great day at the spa yesterday! The massage was an hour and a half and the facial was 2 hours! Facial included hair and scalp massage and arm and hand massage, it was wonderful! Then we went out to eat and shopped for a while.
Barb - hope you're feeling better!
Stacey - glad to hear Mom is doing well!

:wave2: Hi! I definitely remember now why I moved from here to Arizona....
But it really isn't as bad as it could have been...so far.
Thank you guys for taking the brunt of it for me! I'll treat to the first Konk Kooler!!

Busy days here...wasn't expecting that. We were up twice last night, and I did laundry and installed a hand held shower unit...and a few other chores they had been saving for me. Why did my brother have to be so un-handy? Maybe he truly can do this stuff, but pretends not to, so he doesn't get asked.:scratchin

Tomorrow the therapist comes, which is great...I will learn the excercises for Mom to do so that we can do them on the "off days". Must get her better soon!

Hitting the bed now.....take care!

I go to Weight Watchers too Vickie. I am having motivation trouble because my friend hasn't been going because she fell. This week we should get back on track. If I can hit my goal I will reward myself with some new "cruisewear" for August.

My DH is in Las Vegas this week at a Sales Conference at the MGM Grand. I am jealous, even though it doesn't seem too warm there. I am stuck here taking out the garbage.

Cathy, I have a long way to go to goal. I'll be happy if I can stay motivated and keep on loosing until cruise time! Then the real hard part is getting right back to meetings when we get home, that's when I stopped going last time. Hopefully I don't do that again!

I know what you mean, I have a hard time getting back to it. I did so well before the holidays and it seemed easy, now I am on and off again. My meeting buddy is going back this week so hopefully we will motivate each other.

Ladies I wish you luck with your Weight Watcher's goals. I found a way to lose weight but I don't recommend it at all. First I have lost 5 pounds since I stopped working the end of Sept. and then I lost another 5 pounds the last 2 weeks from being sick. Not a good way, but I will take the loss any way I can get it. Now I hope to keep it off.

Looks like I have gotten cabin fever since I've been sick. I'm heading to the Disney Catalog Outlet tomorrow to see what they have. It's supposed to be a bit warmer than today so it should be a nice drive if nothing else, and I get to get out of the house

Hey there!

When I get home, I'm starting back in at Curves. I am not going to say I'm dieting, that always seems to mess me up. But I would like to be more "fit" for this cruise.

All is actually pretty well here. The cold doesn't seem so bad, and it is supposed to warm up by Friday. Snow again Sunday maybe, though. Oh well.

jilljill...there should be a smilie of me sticking my tongue out at you! I want to go to the outlets!

'Night!

You mean like this one :p or this one :earboy2: or this one  .
If you want to go to the outlets just hop on a plane and come visit. Remember too they are right near the ocean with a pretty beach. The water is nasty looking, but the beach looks nice ::yes:: . Maybe I will run into town to take a picture for you and email it to you. Now that wouldn't be too mean, would it?!? :love1: :sunny:
:rotfl2:

Found us half way down page 2 :smooth: .
Looks like it's gonna be almost 50 this weekend. I hope it melts the white stuff outside, I'm tired of looking at it.

Only 180 days on the counters now! That sounds good, just 6 months. :cool1: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Cathy
I like your countdown timer better than mine. We aren't leaving home until Friday the 5th.

Mean jilljill actually DID e-mail me a picture of the beach! Now we need a different type of smilie......do any of them to a "special" wave?

I am really starting to get excited about this cruise...at least it seems to be a reality now that we are closer.
I don't even care about excursions....just set me on my verandah, and I will be one happy little person.
I wonder if it is atrociously hot there in August? Disneyland gets hot, but not miserably so...and the evenings are always nice. Hmmm....

All is going well here.....Mom is healing nicely...it has been good for them to have me here, Dad's not good at the medical stuff, but he takes care of dinner most nights and does the dishes. I do Mom's therapy, talk to the nurses and the doc, and the household stuff. Laundry, etc. I've done a couple of repairs for them...I love that, it keeps me busy. And I have done 6 pages of my scrapbook from the 10 night.
It's been a nice break from the busy routine at home.....and (knock on wood) the weather hasn't been too bad either.
I got to see my new (3 weeks) little great-niece today, fed her, changed her, rocked her to sleep. Haven't lost my touch! (NO...I don't want one...or a grandchild)

Anyway.....guess I will head for bed. Take care....TTFN,
Stacey

The mean one here :wave2: . I was going to post the picture of the ocean that I took, but I couldn't figure out how to do it. I'm technically challenged there.

Stacey, glad to hear all's going well on the 'mom-front'. Keep your sanity because when you get home you will lose it again :rotfl2: .

Just think only 6 more months until we can have unlimited :mickeybar . But I may have to have one next month at WDW just to hold me over.

I think I heard it gets humid in Mexico in the summer. Not what you want to hear, nor do I. But at least we won't be home.

It's off to take DD sneaker shopping, not something I want to do  .

I lived in Los Angeles (Marina del Rey) for the month of August on business in 1988, I remember is was cooler than CT (in the 70's). We will be on/near the ocean which is usually cooler on the East coast anyway. The ship is mostly air conditioned too which is good.

Glad you are doing okay at your mother's Stacey, at least you are getting to spend time with them. Babies are fun but I like to be able to give them back to their parents after awhile.

The excursions always sound so busy to me, getting up and having to be somewhere and then you are stuck if you don't like it. We are not water people as far as doing adventurous things, but we love to be on the verandah and being near it. We will probably just wing it in the ports and see what is there. My DH won't want to look at the excursion list until it is closer. DD likes to shop as long as it is not too hot and there aren't too many people bugging you to buy things or have your hair done.

I have to go get my hair highlighted now, we did subtle blond ones last time. I may have her do more this time. My hair was dark auburn but it has faded over the years. My father had this color and didn't gray until 60 at least, the pigment just fades. I like lightening it up. :) Cathy

Whenever we've been to Disneyland during the summer it's been in the 90's, since it is more inland of course it's hotter than at the coast. Our experience at the coast in Southern California has been 80's. Mexico being further south will be hotter and I've heard it is pretty humid also. Thats the part that gets me, the humidity. Thank goodness for air conditioning!
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend!
Vickie

Well, if it's going to be humid, then you will have to get used to seeing me with my hair pulled up....humidity makes it go flat as a pancake...flatter, actually.

I'm torn between wanting to check out the ports and wanting to do some excursion in the water....and Jay won't want to think about them until the day before the cruise...I hope he will at least listen a little and help me decide!

Cathy...when I get home it's time for new highlights for me, too. I used to be blonde, and it has gotten darker and darker....but I still insist on having it colored. No gray yet, thank goodness.

Yep, I wasn't too sad to hand the baby back to her Mama.....sooo glad those days are long over!

Supposed to snow for the next 3-4 days....oh boy!
I bet I will get my scrapbook done!

In order for Jay to help you decide you HAVE to TELL him about the cruise :teeth:  :earseek: .
