Found us about to fall off page 1

I found us on page 2 again this morning! I guess everyone's been pretty busy and it's only going to get worse with the holidays coming quickly.
Everyone have a great weekend, I hope to get some sewing done on my quilt.

I forgot to look for us yesterday. We had my parents and DB & family over for DM's b'day dinner last night. Then some friends popped in to see the house - a nice surprise.
We finally got to pick out new carpet yesterday. Hopefully that will come in right and then we can finally move in the rest of the furniture :bounce: :hyper: .

Hi all, My DD and her friend just got home from a Halloween party. They looked so good in their costumes! DD was a black cat and her friend was a purple butterfly. They had store bought costumes but they did their own make-up and hair. This is the first year they aren't going to trick-or-treat so they plan on seeing a movie around 4pm instead.

My mother called today to tell me my father is in the hospital, he is okay though but he has to stay in for more tests on Monday. He had some sort of mini-stroke (TIA), but it is not as bad as a stroke. I am going to drive down to Southern CT (about an hour) to take her in to visit him at Yale New Haven Hospital. My brother lives in their town so he has been taking her yesterday and today. I am glad they will be moving to my town soon.

Cathy

Cathy, here's ***Pixie Dust*** for your father. Hope the tests go well.

Thank you guys, I visited him today and he is feeling okay and in good spirits. He used to be a male nurse so he is friendly with all the staff and a good patient. You would think he had been there a long time the way everyone knew him.

Cathy

Glad to hear he's feeling okay and in good spirits Cathy. It's not easy to be a patient when you're used to being the nurse! I'll keep up the prayers.

Hi guys! Sorry I've been away so much. Getting things lined up for the Christmas cruise. Ten days is a long time.
We take 10 - 14 day trips, but they are all to islands where we stay in one place, and there's no such thing as "Formal Night". Much easier to pack for!!

I have the Christmas decorations packed, the toiletries, and all the extra stuff, like Pirate costumes, etc.

Also have all my Christmas gifts (to mail to relatives) wrapped and boxed, and my Christmas cards ready to mail.

So that's where I've been.

Cathy, sorry to hear about your dad. Jay's dad had TIA's for years. He had a medication to take that kept them at bay, and stayed 100% active, until he got really old (80's).......
Trans(something)Ischemic(spelling?) Attacks. Like that tells us something!

All is well here. My DD (14) and her friend walked Jared (11) around to Trick or Treat....it's the last year for the girls. Jared can go one more time.
We don't have a neighborhood (we live in the sticks) so we always go to our friends' house. I love watching all the little ones!
I got cold. We always sit out in the driveway, and I had on a t-shirt, a sweatshirt, a coat, and a blanket. It was somewhere in the upper 50's.....chilly for us.
We had a ball.

Having Thanksgiving at my house this year, first time in a long time. I'm half looking forward to it, half not. We'll have 14 people. A mix of family and friends.

Off to look around the boards.
Now that I have a lot of the things ready for Christmas, I hope to be here more often. But then, the rest of you will be getting ready for the holidays, and I may end up here alone!

TTFN,
Stacey

Vickie, have you gotten your picture from DCL yet? For some reason I thought of that today.

Thanks for all your thoughts. Dad seems to be doing well at home. He is back on his computer emailing me at least and says he is fine.

I can't believe the holidays are coming and birthdays! I have got to get my thoughts organized never mind shopping and planning. My DD13 has given me a list of DVDs, CDs and TV show season DVDs that she wants. Her birthday is 11/20 by the way so the list is for both that and Christmas. She will want money to shop for clothes at the mall too. We are spoiled at Christmas I'll admit. My sisters both have Nov and Dec birthdays and mine is January. My brother will be 40 on Christmas Eve.

Cathy

DH's brother's birthday is Christmas Eve, too. And his mom's birthday is Christmas day. She always got mad if we didn't remember to "honor" her on that day. We don't see her any more, so I don't have to practice my bow & curtsy......

My DD Megan's birthday is in January. She was due on Christmas day, and didn't arrive until Jan 13th!

I am totally exhausted tonight. Stood in line for 3 1/2 hours to vote, then stayed up late watching the returns, and was going to sleep in this a.m......but the phone rang.

So I am off to bed.....

Good night everyone!
Stacey

Just a quick good morning to bump us up the page!

Hope everyone has a great day!!!
