August 6, 2005 Mexican Riviera..Who's In?

You better thank me for that T.O.P. set-up ::yes:: :smooth: .

I really don't like this damp, dreary, cold weather. I want :sunny: and warm weather. Why can't I win the lottery so I can have that whenever I want it?!?

I made my tip envelopes and thank you cards for the Xmas cruise today.

What kind are your home-made tip envelopes and thank you cards like? Do you decorate them? I have to learn about these and more about the door decorations which I am not sure I get yet...

Vickie, any word from DCL this week on your silent auction litho?

Cathy,
I just use regular size envelopes, and use a program like Printmaster. On the envelopes, I put the person's title:
Head Server
Stateroom Host/Hostess

And inside, along with their money, I put the cards. I use make your own business cards...and put something on there like "Thank you for making our trip so "Magical", and our names and stateroom number.
I like it better than the envelopes they give you. Plus, I put the money in them before the cruise, so it's one less thing to do on the last night. I use the tipping guides that we are given, and add some to it....we have always had outstanding service!

She called this morning after I had already left for work. Just left a message that she would call back tomorrow (DD told her I am off tomorrow). So hopefully she has good news.

Hey Stace, since you are getting so good at posting links, why don't you post the links to find your pirate names on this thread. I had done mine from the first link and forgot what it was.

Sending Pixie Dust, Vickie!!

Cathy....for the signs for our door, I do the same thing, basically.
I get magnetic-backed paper (Office Max...) and add Disney pictures and our names, the date of the cruise...and I try (try) to come up with some "catchy" phrase.

Ladies I don't know how many of you shop at the Disney Stores, but The Children's Place has just signed the papers to own the stores in the US and Canada. The transition will take place over the next few weeks. I'm glad I left when I did.
The era of the Disney Stores as we know them is now over :(

Well I just spoke with DCL and the story I got was that when they were offloading my litho they noticed a "flaw" (she didn't know what the flaw was, just that it was there) so they substituted what they thought was a like item and shipped it to me. She said it was an honest mistake on their part, they really thought it was identical. They do have an identical one on board the Wonder and they will offload it on 10/28, send it directly to the wherehouse and priority ship it to me along with packing labels for me to return the wrong one. Everything sounds good, I just hope when it arrives it is really an identical piece!

I will keep my fingers crossed for the lithograph to be the right one! I used to shop Disney stores when my DD was little, but not anymore. My nephew is 2 1/2, but his mother (my sister) is a big Disney fan and he has it all I think! She is a DVC member at Key West resort. She is on the April 2005 cruise, had to use her points before end of July and I had to go after July so we couldn't hook up!

Cathy

I can't beleive we were still on page 1.

Here's a blonde joke just for Stacey:

Two blondes living in Texas were sitting on a bench talking........and the one blonde says to the other.

"What do you think is farther ......... Florida or the moon......"

The other blonde turns and says "Helloooooooooooooooooooo....can you see Florida?"

Where has everyone been the last couple of days?!? :jester:

My DD has been hogging the computer the last couple of days, she is waiting to get on here now to do a homework assignment (and then play).

My parents and two sisters came to visit today for lunch. Boy, my nephew is a handful now! He is 2 1/2, very active. I had to watch to save things (even though I put the stuff I could think of up out of reach). He did manage to break a tiger statue that is fairly heavy and large (I didn't think he could pick it up and drop it on the hard wood like that to break its foot off). My DH is glueing it back together though and it wasn't my favorite thing anyway. He is adorable though, very articulate and fun to talk to.

My sister hasn't managed to get on these boards yet for her April cruise, maybe once it is closer she will find her thread.
:)

Cathy

I guess everyone has been busy this weekend! I started a new quilt and have been sewing all weekend!
Vickie

I'm here....sorry...been busy with too much stuff going on all at the same time.
Have to go start dinner..but I'll try to remember to post the link to the pirate names.
Do we want the "clean" one, or the "down and dirty" one???
