August 6, 2005 Mexican Riviera..Who's In?

I have always said that I would like to rent out Alexa as a WDW tour guide. We go 2 or 3 times a year. Last year we went to D'land Paris, Alexa's first trip there and our 2nd. The trip to D'land next summer will be Alexa's first trip there, DH and I were there last summer for a night and we were there 11½ years ago. We have also done 4 DCL cruises. She is quite the Disney-travelled child.

Jilljill - will you be going to DL before the cruise or after? We go quite often as we are only 3 hours away. I'm sure Brynee would answer any questions Alexa may have about her DL visit. She has her own itinerary for visiting DL...she can usually get on 8-10 rides in the first 1 1/2 hours! She was disappointed when we went last month as she couldn't walk through the castle- it was covered by tarps!!

Jilljill, my DD Sara will be 11 on the cruise too and she doesn't have any talents either. She does well at making friends though! She's been to DL 3 times and WDW once and thinks she is a princess (or at least should be treated like one!)

Hi, Jessica is 12, will be 13 in November (and on the cruise). She likes Disney, has been to WDW twice and on DCL 7 night Eastern cruise once. When she was younger she had her autograph book to get all the characters to sign. She likes to sing and on the cruise in April bought a Disney songbook so she'd have all the words.

Cathy

I have never heard of Xanga, but I asked Jess and she has been there. There is so much I don't know.

Hi guys....I'm still here, still alive. Things are going to start getting busy around here. I'll try to keep up as best I can.
DS Jared (12 at cruise time) starts soccer next week, and Jordan's dance starts next week also. Her dream is to dance at Disney...and Disney, cruise, WDW, DL...she doesn't care.
She can be shy to start out but once she gets to know everyone she talks a lot.
jilljill......she'll be a pretty seasoned cruiser by next summer....I don't think we'll have any trouble getting rid of her. She should know the ship inside out by then!

Jenny.....my niece's name is Brynn....we don't hear it very often. I like Brynee....that's even more special.

Off for now....bills to pay! Whee!!!

Good Morning everyone. Just saying hi to bump us up! I have to go back to work Monday and I'm already starting to whine about it! No more time off till December.
Vickie

I'm back to whine about something else. Last week I bought a new car. Had no intention of buying a new car right now but my mechanic said the head gaskets were going and he suggested putting money towards a new car rather than sinking money in a 7 year old car. So we go out and find a great deal on a 2004 Ford Freestar. Lots of rebates, getting rid of the new '04's to make room for the '05's etc. So we get talked into getting this Finishing Touch applied to protect the paint and interior. I make an appointment and take it in Wed. Go late Wed afternoon to pick it up and guess what? They never touched my car all day other than to drive it to the back. So they give me a free rental and promise it back yesterday close to noon. 2 pm and I haven't heard from them so I call. Now they tell me they can't release my car to me because there are "streaks" on all of the windows. I ask if its from the stuff they applied and of course they say no. It wasn't there when I took it in though. They can't get the streaks off so this morning a factory rep is coming to look at it and see what can be done about it. So I'm still in a rental car and don't know what is happening with my brand new one!
There I'm done whining! Wish me luck with it!
Vickie

Vickie, good luck with getting the new car problem worked out. At least you have a factory rep. coming to inspect the problem.
I had a problem getting my Land Rover when I ordered it. I ordered it the beginning of Dec. '02 and I never even got the one I ordered, it was stuck in Baltimore at the port in all the snow we had in the winter of '03. They finally had to go to another dealer, 2½ months later, to get me one. They were actually going to drive it down and I told them they better truck it down or I wouldn't accept it. I didn't want a car with lots of miles on it, kind of a gripe with me with new cars. So it finally arrived and I love it, but it has had a couple of small problems. I blame it on the fact that it wasn't the one I ordered so this is the price I'm paying for getting a different one.
So I guess we all whine and gripe about cars - I look at it as a fact of life like death and taxes :teeth: .

where is everyone? We were close to the bottom of the page!
Well they have to replace all of the glass on my new car. I'm not too pleased about it!
Vickie

Vickie that is so  . I know you feel like screaming right now.

I have been busy packing and trying to get flooring issues resolved today; and most importantly trying to decide if I'm turning in my resignation very soon. I have so many things going thru my head right now I feel like it's going to spin off   :crazy2: :confused3 .

Good morning!

I am still alive. I guess.

jilljill......if your head starts spinning, can we toss some pea soup around and make a movie about it? (get it?)

Just trying to stay one step ahead. Jay & I had our ball games last night. We had a break between the two games, so I made use of the fact that we were in town and I took Jared to buy new soccer shoes. That worked out well.

So, doing laundry today and making a quick run to Target for a b-day gift. Jared was invited to a party at the last minute. I do so love it when that happens.

TTYL.....try to have a good day!

Sure you can, as long as I get part of the royaities.....or rather my family does. Just make sure you get the most money for the picture :teeth: .

Going furniture shopping this afternoon - need a new bed. Trying to sell the old bedroom suite.

Have a fun day everyone

My only car issue is when I leased a new Ford Explorer in 2000 and a month later all the tire exploding stuff came out. I was afraid to drive it, but I did. It took a year before I got them replaced because at first my exact ones weren't part of the recall... My husband kept calling it the Ford Exploder.

We are going to DL before the cruise, is everyone else going after? We will have to catch a flight that day... yuck.

Cathy

We will be staying at D'land after the cruise. I didn't want to have to lug all my purchases onto the ship :teeth: .
I guess now I can start looking in to flight times. We are going to be using my parents FF miles for tickets.

Hi Vickie - I had to have a windshield replaced by the dealer as they chipped my windshield while replacing wipers! You'll want to drive it on a freeway as soon as you get it back and check for wind noise. It was a 2000 Explorer and we had our tires changed out as soon as blow-outs were in the headlines even though we had the larger/wider tires on it. Anyway, if there is more wind noise than when you first drove it, keep making them make adjustments...replacements are usually not as airtight as the originals. On our other SUV, we had to have a side window replaced the first day we got it as the salesman used a razor blade to take off the sticker price sheet and he scratched up the tinted window!!! Cars, and dealer workmen, can be such a headache!! After the windshield fiasco, we sold our Explorer!!

We will probably be going to DL fairly often as we like to see the Christmas decor and we do plan to go after the bd celebration officially begins. Brynee and I can post some tips or must sees.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Hi - I'm making a chart of everyone and their kids/ages so Brynee will have an idea of who is on the cruise: (age at cruise time)

Cathy Jessica - 13
Jilljill Alexa - 11
Vickie Sara - 11
Stace Jared - 12 Jordan
Jenny Brynee - 16

The only age I don't know is Jordan's. Are there any other names I am missing. I didn't list DH names but I can update my table and add them!!

Jenny, you can update your table to include my real name and DH's too. It is Barb and Jay.

Thanks Barb! I hope all of you don't think I am wacko...it's just that at the beginning of the school year I have to make schedules for my 5 schools - students, room #'s, times etc. I guess I am just in a table/schedule mode right now!!

Jenny, if you are a wacko then you will fit right in with Stacey and myself  :hyper: :teeth: .
