Welcome!
Wow your 10th cruise, you are a veteran.
This will only be our third cruise. Our first one will be the Fantasy on April 2012, second one Magic July 28 to Bahamas and August 5 to Canada will be our third.

Hi,

We are sailing on this cruise also. It will be myself, DH Darren, DD1 Isabelle who will be 7 at time of sailing and DD2 Olivia who will be 4. We are also hoping to have my cousin Elizabeth join us but she is still working out if she can save the money in time!

This will be our fifth Disney Cruise and believe me I am so pleased that this is the last time we will have to wait and not be able to book on opening day! We didn't get the SPH room we wanted but our TA (Kelsie from DU) did snag my second choice which is 5010 which we got upgraded to on the first leg of our b2b Med cruise last summer. We love Deck 5 the best and I am so happy to be returning home to it!

We are from the UK so although the cruise is booked we will be eagerly awaiting air fares to be released in September for our dates. We plan to fly in the day before the cruise and then stay maybe 4 or 5 nights in New York afterwards as none of us have visited NYC before and it seems crazy to fly across the Atlantic, take a cruise and then fly home without spending some time in New York!

Looking forward to getting to know our fellow cruisers on here :)

We are booked as well. Just myself and my DD who will be 13....Pretty sad that we Canadians are going to New York, to get on a ship, to visit the east coast of our own country! :rotfl2:

So far we are a pretty small select group, not so many of us on the thread yet! So are you guys all just doing the cruise or is anyone doing back to back cruises or spending some time in New York before or after the cruise?

PS mca - depending on what side of the ship you are on we will be near neighbours. Have you been in the SPH before? We loved 5020 on our August 2009 cruise and in our opinion deck five is the BEST location!

Hello Mel!

So nice to know we'll be neighbours! And where in Essex are you? I used to live in England, in various places - London, West Middlesex, Surrey, Buckinghamshire. I'll have to beg you to bring some Cadbury Dairy Turkish....

You must spend a few days to visit NYC. I actually grew up there and can give you some tips! If you get the chance to also do a quick jaunt to Philadelphia (just 2 hours away and where I now live), you can see a lot of history in a short amount of time about this upstart young country!

Hi Laura,

Well we move over the border into Suffolk around 3 years ago but I never changed my Dis profile! We are around 10 miles outside of Ipswich and about 15 miles from Colchester. As for the Cadburys Dairy Milk Turkish - no problem!

We will definitely spend some time in NYC, we are hoping to see a few Olympic events before we leave (we will fly in on 4th) stay overnight in an airport hotel, do the cruise and then hopefully stay 4 or 5 nights in New York and take in some sights. We have two young daughters who will be 4 and 7 so I have some serious planning to do to work out how best to see New York while keeping it child friendly.

Good to meet a neighbour so soon in the cruise. On our last cruise (b2b Med trips last summer) we were in 5010 for the first cruise and another family from our Dis meet was in 5009 so it is good to have a Dis friend for a neighbour! As I said in the other thread the location is great, I love it for the proximity to everything but because there are so few staterooms in the area it seems much more out of the way than it is.

I had friends who lived in both Ipswich and Colchester (been there, lovely Roman town!) so I've a good idea where you are. My late MIL lived at Swaffham, a bit north of you.

There are so many kid-friendly things to do in NYC. In fact, just Google Kid friendly NYC and you'll come up with a ton of things ranging from hotels and restaurants to sightseeing and more.

My daughter will be in England in late June next year with a Girl Scouts trip. We had been hoping to join her at the end and perhaps see some Olympics events but the cost is making it less feasible. I did see them working on the site when I was staying in Chigwell a couple years ago; that might be the closest I make it to the Olympics.:sad2:

My email is cmclaura@aol.com; always happy to chat!

Hi! Scott and I are booked on this cruise too. This will be our 9th DCL cruise and we are looking forward to being back on the Magic...it feels like home to us.
Look forward to participating in this DCL Meet!

Hi! We are doing a back to back. We will take the Magic on July 28 to Bahamas and then to Canada on August 5. :cool1:

Sounds great, did you get the same cabin for both cruises?

Yes, we got the same cabin for both. thanks to our great TA from DCL. She booked our room for both of the cruise on Friday at 8am when the booking open. She is great.

This cruise thread is getting hard to find since there are so many cruises and dates now. I think I found this one today on page three.

@Happy Goofy: Yeah, I know. For what I can see we are a really small bunch.

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :thumbsup2

My dh Rick and I will be sailing with you too. I'll also be celebrating my birthday on the 5th. :goodvibes This will be our second Disney Cruise - our first was on a 4 night on the Wonder. I'm so excited about the new itinerary! I think we're planning to do several days in NYC prior to the cruise. Looking forward to meeting you all!
