August 5th 2012, Magic- NY to Canada

My DH and I were silver members on our Alaskan cruise in August. It was our DS (22 months) first cruise and he had no status. As long as you are gold though, it shouldn't make a difference. You can still book the whole family early and attend the reception together. My parents were gold while we were still silver. She was able to book us all early (prior to it opening to the general public) on our Alaskan cruise.

We have had this problem before. In general if everyone is in one cabin, they can often share a status, but we have had problems before with booking new cruisers (both were adults) and have had to wait to book them. This has been especially true and annoying with Palo.

Hi-

I signed up for this cruise on the Dream last month - it'll be just me & dh- no kids. It will be our 6th cruise. We'll be celebrating our 20th anniversary on the 8th. We've never left the kids this long, (we went away for 2 nights for our 10th), but DMIL has already agreed to move in. Bless her heart.

Someone else mentioned band camp - I'm usually a pretty active chaperone- so if we go we'd miss the whole camp except for the concert friday night. Which would be strange. I also booked us for the weekend to nowhere right after this cruise, just incase we can't miss 5 days of work, but I really want to go to Canada rather than nowhere.

I looked at the prices last night and the cost already went up $400 since I booked. We have a 7A. We usually have an inside stateroom and I thought it would be fun for our anniversary to actually see where we're sailing since we don't have to worry about kids leaning over.

Does anyone know if we leave from the Manhattan port or the Brooklyn port? -- Never mind - I found it --Manhattan.

.... our b2b Med cruise last summer....

Melcatfish - I just realized - you seem so familiar - were you on the August 7th, 11 day cruise out of Barcelona last summer as your second leg? I think we were on the same deck as you about 6 rooms down! We still talk about that cruise as our best vacation ever.

Stress level has just went up. My deployment to Afghanistan may be moved up from August 28. Fingers crossed that this will not interfere with our last family trip before I go.

I'm so sorry to hear that - but I'm hoping it all works out and you don't have to change any plans. You military families go through so much for all of us. Thank you for that.

Hello everyone!

I just booked this cruise yesterday! I'm really excited, I've never been to Canada! (One of my friends thought I was crazy for wanting to visit, but I say fooey to him! Apparently he's never seen the Martin Short film! "Land of igloos and snow!") I'm actually very excited about it. I can't wait until they release the excursions.

My uncle originally booked the cruise at the beginning of the month, sent an email out to the whole family, and within weeks all of my aunts, uncles, and cousins booked as well! My brother and I have the stateroom next to our parents, but we weren't able to get connecting staterooms. :(

I haven't been on a cruise since 2000! And that was also a Disney Cruise. We did a 4 day cruise on the Wonder. I was 13 then, so I'm expecting that this cruising experience will be quite a bit different.

Anyway, just wanted to pop in and say Hellooo to my future cruise-mates (is that the right word? ship-mates? deck-hands? :flower3:)

So, HELLO!! :goodvibes

The title is "Nova Scotia August 5th." I just set it up and added Jeremy (since we were already friends.) I'm happy to add anyone and/or anyone who wants to co-administrate the group. Just let me know!

P.S. MouseNDaHouse and I cruised together this Aug and each have a 7 yo, so we got to be friendly and had a Great time!

Just put in my request to join!! :woohoo:

Have you ever considered adoption? Although my parents are phenomenal, I just might throw them under the bus if you had any interest in adopting a pleasant 41 yo! :rotfl2:

I was wondering the very same thing! There is such a thing as adult adoption you know? :rotfl2:

Finally this thread is getting some action. My husband and I will be on the Aug 5th cruise. It will be my 70th birthday- but we are young in spirit.
I saw a mention of a Facebook page. I hope that the page does not take away anything from the Disboards. This is supposed to be the planning and meeting forum. It will be our 7th DCL cruise. We are doing the Hawaiian one in April.

We'll be on the cruise with you.

So far we have 15 family members going and hoping to add more. Our family went to Disney World for Christmas 2010 for 11 days (22 total, between Grandma Joan, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews). Can't wait to be able to see everyone together. (See Lilwitch646 post)

Pleasant, not a teenager? O.K.!! I need a change of pace. As long as your parents can take my teen daughter. Lol

Sorry, Mitchells, I haven't been onto disboards since school started. Since I am not personally friends with you, I can't add you yet. If you search for the group, you can send a request to join the group, and then I can add you.:cool1:

Despite the fact that it sounds good to me, it might be a tough sell to my parents. And I work with teenagers every day, so I DO understand your sentiments!

Take it from an adoptee, adoption is not all it's cracked up to be.

I cannot find the FB page. And, as I don't know your real name, I cannot find you. Please find me so I can join!

I have searched for:

Nova Scotia August 5th

and

Nova Scotia August 5

Nothing is coming up.

I just sent a request to join the FB group. We are going on the Dream next month and Hawaii on the Wonder in April, but it will be great to be back on the Magic next summer!

This will be our 12th Disney cruise, most of which have been on the Magic!

Maybe you can tell me how to even FIND the FB group? I am having no luck at all.

Hi all!

It'll be me, DH and DDs, both 17 at sailing time. We met Brave Cruiser's family on the 8/9 Alaska cruise.

We are still in cruise withdrawal and the only remedy is planning the next trip:woohoo:.

I just sent a request to join the group on Facebook.

Laurie
