August 5th 2012, Magic- NY to Canada

Are there any senior citizens going on this cruise? This will be our 8 DCL cruise and we love Disney

Hi, HappyGoofy! My parents are cruising with us or Really, we are cruising with them. This will be their sixth consecutive cruise and they are of the retirement generation, although my father still works and my mother is just plain crazy-busy.

Happy Friday!

Is it too late to sign up for the FE?

I don't think so. I went back to where the FE list began on this thread (page 8) and looked for the cut-off date for joining. What I can find is that the discussion at that time was to make the date 3-4 weeks prior to the sail date. I don't see anyother dates listed, but I haven't re-read everything.

I've been trying to decide if we would get tickets for the pink bus in Saint John but I couldn't find a map anywhere to do some pre trip planning. I finally emailed and got this response - if anyone else knows a more detailed list of stops would you please post them? Thanks.

The tour company, Ambassatours GrayLine, operates the Pink Buses in Saint John. This year we actually changed the routes a bit, there are only two routes now instead of three, they both still include everything they included with the three routes, we have made each route a little bit longer to include everything. The two routes this year are A and R. The A includes a tour of the city, it leaves the terminal and goes through the beautiful historic uptown, then heading over to Rockwood Park, the largest municipal park in North America, the final stop is Fort Howe, where you will be at one of the highest points in the city with a wonderful view of the Bay, your ship and the City. This tour lasts between 30-45 minutes. The other tour is the Reversing Rapids, This tour also covers the uptown area, but a different section. They venture over to the world famous Reversing Rapids. This tour also lasts between 30-45 minutes. Both tours end and start form the Cruise Terminal.

Hi All! Erika just shared this site with me!

My DH and DS are cruising too! (along with about 16 of our friends!)

We would LOVE to join the FE group. Is there a master list??

Welcome...so glad that you all could join us. The mater list is on page 8 and it is a googledocs. Just go in and add your date.

Is anybody starting a fish extender list? I cant post yet so cannot offer. We will be sailing on our 21st disney cruise. I love to make extender gifts and would love for somebody to start a list of room numbers and travelers.

Is there anyone doing private van tours? We did sign up for the St John's highlights and Top 10 of Halifax with Lunch. My husband has a hard time walking long distances and we were wondering if anyone is doing a private tour of these areas and need two other people. We have done van tours in the past and they are much better than the bug bus ones. You get to see more and get closer to the sights with less walking.

I just found the google documents list of cruisers participating. We are looking forward to it. I did not notice a deadline so if anybody finds it please let us know so we r sure to have plenty of treats!

For those of you who have joined, welcome!! My name is Kaitlin and I'm going on the same cruise. I'm 17 and I'm going with my family. They are teriyaki (my mom), my dad and my sister (vanillasoftserve).

I think 3 weeks out for FE sounds good. Delivery any day. What about setting July 15 as cut off to join FE group? That is a month from now. How does that sound to everyone? Thanks Michelle

Hi, Sorry see page 11 not 10. Michelle

Thanks July 15 it is. In reading backwards ive heard that there will not be a delivery schedule, one treat per stateroom with possible kid treats, I'm never sure if we are supposed to put our names on gifts or just deliver. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks and looking forward to is short one before we are off to Seattle for a week on the Wonder. We are probably not doing FE for that one as well be gone almost 3 weeks and airline luggae restrictions can be problematic. Thanks again,

thanks for doing the FE. Usually I put a sticker on with our Disboard name and I noticed when we did the Hawaiian one most people put Disboard names and real first names. Did anyone do any lanyard name tags for this cruise ? If not we could probably make our own and put them in the lanyards that DCL gives us . That way we could recognize people on this site. This is just a thought.

I created a Google document for the FE Exchange:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AnrsWMNbjFS0dGs4SEM1NU9yN1RkbFhPVzdXeW5icXc

I gave those with the link permission to edit the spreadsheet so perhaps folks can enter their information in the spreadsheet? That will eliminate me making mistakes transcribing information from posts. If you can't access the spreadsheet, I can try to get everyone in there but I travel a great deal for work and I don't always have time to look at DisBoards very regularly.

Kind regards,
Lynda

Hi! Don't forget to sign up for the FE Exchange if you are interested! We set a July 15 cutoff so folks have time to prepare the FE items. We have not established a delivery schedule but if someone wants one, we can do that once the FE Exchange list is final on July 15.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in just 52 days!!!
Kind regards,
Lynda
