August 30th 2014, 7 night Mediterranean Cruise - Disney Magic

Hey!

It was amazing thanks! 4 nights was definitely not long enough - as we cant join you next year i'm hoping for a 12 night in 2015 which i am trying to get my parents and brother join us for (it'd be their first!)

We are in the process of moving house at the mo so everything is a bit up in the air. As soon as i get a chance I will try and upload some pictures.

In the meantime i have uploaded the navigators to another thread if you're interested - http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3141080

Hello everyone!

You've all be so quiet, I hope you're all ok? since i got back from the 4 night we've been moving house. Our internet is getting hooked up this Friday so if you would like me to upload some pictures I will be more than happy to!

It's all been so up in the air at the moment but my Husbands new job keeps changing our holiday possibilities making impossible for a final decision to be made. However, it is looking increasingly likely that we WILL now be joining you on this one again

Anyone been planning for this vacation and know your plans or are you all leaving it for a little closer to the time?

anyway. Take care folks, speak soon :flower3:

Hi. Hope you can join us next year. Still looking at plans n what tours to use. We have two tour companys in mind for rome n Naples. The rest matbe dyi. We will see. Was villefranche easy to get around?

We didn't spend anytime in Villefranche unfortunately as we got whisked off on our tour and didn't get back until 17:50! Our dining was first seating 18:00 so didn't have time. Next time we have decided we will just get off and wander around Villefranche a little. Or (if poss) hire a car and do it ourselves x

Have you ever been to florence or Pisa? Anyone prefer one over the other

I haven't been to either and would like to do both. However, if I could only chose one I would chose Florence. I don't have any reasons particularly save for the fact I know a little more of Florence. All i know about Pisa really is that there is a leaning tower.

Have just read inferno by Dan Brown which has made me want to go to Florence even more (amongst other places)

what about you? from your research which would you prefer do you think?

Hi all, thought I'd introduce myself as we are booked on this cruise as well! Will be our 4th Disney Cruise, but first one in the Med.

We are:

Me - Jody, who is mum to a DS15 and a DD 14 (they will be 16 and 15 when we cruise next year). DD is also possibly bringing a friend, we are hoping to confirm that in the next couple of days.

We did the 14 night transatlantic this year which was amazing. Would love to do it again next year, but due to both kids being in various stages of GCSE's its just not possible. :sad1:

I have requested to join the facebook group as well.

This board has been quite quiet for a while, are we all too busy to plan/be on here getting excited?

It's looking increasingly like we will be back on this cruise :woohoo: so starting my planning again!

Which port is everyone most looking forward to? For me I think it's La Spezia as Florence has always been on my bucket list!!

 Hello again Bitocas :goodvibes

Has anyone else logged into the DCL website recently and noticed the 7 night keeps changing to 9 night?

Have not seen that. Hope they stick to one or the other soon. Our TA wants us to get air by early thinking that will be the best price.

Yeah we always book flights as soon as they are out to get the cheapest price possible! I imagine it will be the 7 and this is just a glitch but it would be kind of nice for us if we do get a little longer ;). Although not so nice for those they'd be moving. I can't see it changing really, just an anomaly I had noticed.

Not yet - am still waiting to find out if my annual leave has been authorised! :rotfl2:

Up to the 4th of September has been, I have to re-submit the application to cover the other few days in September as that "window" isn't open yet! Got to resubmit in September. So annoying!

I'm lucky my work is a bit more laid back and its quite easy to get time off. its the hubbys holiday thats the difficulty.

We stayed in 2 hotels whilst we were there in July and i think we would stay in the Novotel City again next time

I'm a police officer, so unfortunately getting any kind of leave can be a bit of a nightmare! For things like summer holiday leave, the window opens 13 months beforehand, and is left open for a month. Any applications are then looked at, and if you are lucky you get the leave you want. Quite often, you then aren't allowed to apply for any leave during this period without going through a Superintendant.

Christmas is another nightmare period. If you aren't organised and get your application in when the window is open, then its basically tough, and you stand pretty much no chance of getting it.
