August 29th, 2009--Eastern Magic...Let's Get it Started!

I am also thinking to stay for the free dining its such a good deal. I am also coming with out hubby and wondering if its gonna be too much for me. My kids are 11. 7 , 4. How many days in the park are u thinking of doing and which resort. I was thinking one of the moderate. Not sure which.

I like your idea for the surprise. They will be thrilled!

Where are u driving from. I thought about doing that cause I am a little scared to fly but i am all the way in NY.

Hey where are you in NY? We're driving down from Long Island. DD will be 9, which I'm sure will make driving an adventure but... we want see more and do more other than just fly. So we are biting the bullet, joining AAA and headed south on 8/22. We're going to take probably two days to drive and then visit relatives and stuff, head to the park to sleep over the night before and then.. off to the cruise! *(Does anyone know if the hotel will let you remain parked there while you take the shuttle to the cruise terminal?) things that make you go hmmmmm....

We're psyched .... we're sooo psyched.... i can't wait till August!

I might want to join in on this. I just need to know how many people I have to buy for and what sorts of things to get before I decide 100%. Sounds like fun though

I sent you a pm on what we are doing and where to find how many people, just let me know if you would like to join us. As far as what to get it is up to the individual, there are a few threads out there that have pictures and lists some things people give. On our last cruise, we got asstd candies, pirate things, stickers, tattoos, some stuff I've seen at Oriental Trading Co, I have heard of people making CD's of disney music, and a lot of people do homemade items, such as scrapbook items, calendars, picture frames, etc. I hope this gives you some sort of idea.

When I woke up in the middle of the night CNBC was showing a cruise special about how cruise lines make money. They had a reporter on the Norwegian Pearl and they were discussing how much alcohol they have to sell to make a profit.

The cruise director was stating that it is their job to get those vacation dollars out of our pockets:scared1:

They showed a lot of behind the scenes activity and the desire for you to have a great time and come back with your family and friends:goodvibes

Our cruise's final payment deadline is the 31st? I didn't know that since I booked on points.... So, cancellations will be happening sometime next week then. I'm hoping for a better cat 4 that is non-connecting to become available.

Actually the final payment date is at 75 days, but if you are a Castaway Club member you can book excursions, etc., at 90 days (if you are paid in full), which is May 31st. I paid mine off a week ago also so that I wouldn't have to worry about it being processed well before May 31st . . .

Good luck with the better cat 4!

AAAH I get it now... You have to be paid in full before you can make ressies! Didn't know that, this online booking with DCL is new to me. They didn't have this the last time we sailed with them.

We'll be at WL the week before the cruise, anyone joining us?

We would love to make friends and share a good time.

We're going to be at Universal, at the HRH for now.. who knows what hotel we end up at...... I keep changing... We plan on dinner at Kona one night, my kids love it there, so we'll drive down to eat there, then spend the night at DTD. So maybe we could meet up that evening........

We're planning a day at DTD too. I can't remember when, because I left my SCHEDULE at home! LOL! Soooo much planning!

How old are your kids?

My DD is 7.

DD is 11 and DS is 8. As of right now, we're planning on going down August 26th after dinner. Since Universal is open until 7, we'll probably try to eat around 7:30, so we'll probably get to DTD around 9.

Registered for the Entertainment book online for $30 then checked the hotel rates for before our cruise. The Radisson has a buy one get one free deal through the Entertainment.com website. We will be there 2 nights with 2 rooms and I just paid $341.24 total for 2 nights, 2- Two room whirlpool Suites. It worked out to $74.50 per night per room. They did have another room type available that was about $15 per night less, but I wanted the sofa bed. I had just read some more reviews on the HI oceanfront and was a little worried so I started checking around again. We stayed at the Radisson before last cruise and enjoyed the stay.
Just checked again and this rate is already gone from the entertainment.com website, glad I booked when I first saw it and didn't wait until this morning. Didn't want anyone signing up for this, then not being able to get that buy one night get one free deal. I did see on the Radisson website a frifree code, but it was no longer available at the port hotel

We're planning some DTD time too, depending on the weather. Right now, it's looking like maybe Wed. night and / or Fri. night after dinner.

Any more interest?

Any one fax in a request for the private room?

Hello? Anyone home?

WOW!!! $700 bucks?! Of course it's not on our cruise!!!!!

We only have $500.00 in OBC:rotfl: $200.00 per cabin from DU and $50.00 per cabin when they ran a CC special back at the time of booking.

Joe.

Also, I am doing all the dinners with family. It may be the only time I get to see them:thumbsup2

Hey... why can I book Palo/Spa/Etc...

I just did it on DCL's site.

I thought CC members don't open until the 31st
