Code red in the Caribbean! MN_cruzn can you put up a GFS and or a spaghetti. NHC flying recon today. Thanks!

Hi all...

So, based on this model, even if this does develop into something, the center of the activity remains to the east of our planned stops.

It looks in this model that the area is anticipated to be almost due East of Port Canaveral by Thursday.

So, while there is now a greater that 50% chance that this will develop into a cyclone, predictions are that it will continue it's current pace and direction and not impact us or our ports of call.

We will keep an eye open...

Thanks again, you guys . . . believe it or not, our local weather is starting to report that NYC may see tropical rains from this on Saturday . . . luckily for me we are flying out on Friday morning but I hope there aren't too many trying to fly out from here Saturday AM to make the ship . . . at least it looks as though it won't affect the cruise.

Welcome aboard!:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Usually tips are passed out the last night of the cruise, so you would just have to find another way to give your tips to the serving staff - other than that, Palo the last night sounds lovely.

Someone had posted recently what movies would be showing - I'm remembering Up, G Force, The Proposal, Hannah Montana movie, Race to Witch Mountain . . . but can't remember them all.

Welcome Aboard the Booze Cruize

Hi Everyone,

Yes, this is our 3rd week now. We do get off the ship and have to hand in our declaration forms, we then get right back on. The crew is just as great as ever. We did run into a couple of problems and the crew was right there to help us out. I will explain when I meet everyone. I did learn a valuable lesson when doing a back to back.

I will be looking for everyone next week.

We are waiting for the last week to do all the shows that are not the speciality shows. We did a lot of hangin by the pool.

Water is smooth sailing, no waves to talk about. Hope next week is just as smooth.

Proposal, Nature Earth, Bolt (3d), UP (3d) are a few more to add to yourlist odf movies on the ship.

I see there are new selections on the menus. Yum! I have gained about 50 pounds!

There is plenty of construction at Castaway, but still beautiful. ( new ships )

See everyone very soon.

Oh no...my flight is on Saturday at 6:30am, hope we make it out, can't afford to miss:scared1: the cruise.

Where are you flying from?

Also, don't worry too much since things can change a lot in this many days -- the storm could slow down and not hit the northeast until Saturday late or even head east and not hit at all . . .

An early flight like yours is also less likely to be delayed as long as the plane made it there the night before - as the day goes on things get more complicated if there is bad weather.

We are almost ready! 3 more days!!! I got the bags out this evening, started to fill them. I got our new cooler for the boat today too!! Woohoo!! Now to fill that! ;) I love that the weather is cooperating for our plans. Anyone have a rough idea of what post #'s were about the group getting off the boat plans? We haven't booked an excursion yet because we can't make up our mind. I am thinking just the beach and shopping will be perfect though. I was sure I read somewhere about the meeting place each day and the plans at hand. Hope everyone is enjoying their time in FL if you are already there, and to those of us still home.....GET PACKING!!! It is almost time to go! :yay:

Thanks bellelinus for easing my worries, leaving from JFK on Jetblue.

OK, two maps for tonight...

slp16.png

This is the Global Forcast Simulation (GFS) for 11am EST on Saturday, 08/29. As you can see, the cell that we have been discussing is predicted to be located well north of Port Canaveral. My eyes seem to put it off of the Virginia/New York/Massachusetts coast. So, for those of you flying out on Saturday from the East Cost, be forwarned.

I am also attaching the NHC's current map, as a reference:

atl1.gif

So, NHC continues to report this cell to have a greater than 50% chance of becoming a tropical cyclone, and that development could happen at any time. The Air Force Reconnaissance aircraft sent out earlier today found the Low Pressure system, but not the "closed circulation" that is the key signature of hurricane development. They did find gale-force winds in the area, so this baby seems to be picking up some steam.

The Bahamas could be impacted by this storm, if it develops. So, while this will not impact our sailing or any of our eastern ports, depending on the direction it takes, and how it develops, there is a possibility of it impacting Castaway Cay. It would not impact us being able to get there, but depending on development, it could impact the island before we arrive.

You have been updated! Good Night!:thumbsup2

Thanks bellelinus for easing my worries, leaving from JFK on Jetblue.

We'll be flying out of JFK on Jetblue on Friday - I never fly anyone other than Jetblue unless it is overseas - :). . . keep an eye on the weather reports because - as a last resort - if it looks as though the weather will be truly bad on Saturday (and I still think that is unlikely) sometimes they will allow you to change to empty seats on a plane the night before. But I do believe it should be fine . . .:wizard::wizard::wizard:

Well, dh and I just finished packing the car and will be heading out tomorrow morning. We will not have computer access. We'll see you all at the Goofy Pool on Saturday!

Thanks Julie, hope you have a good flight down, and since we're neighbors, we'll probably see you sooner than the others.

Princess..love the story about your marriage proposal at MK..Your DH sounds so sweet. How romantic :lovestruc

Well just a few more hours until we leave for the airport. I really tried to back everything into one checkon bag but it just wouldn't all fit. So now I guess JetBlue gets $30 (or whatever the fee is) from me...:sad2: not liking this new extra baggage fee

See you all on the boat...Happy Sailing ahead...Ahoy Maties!:sail:

You guys have now got me worried, I leave out of Newark Sat. at 8:00. $15.00 a bag. You guys have been the best with all you info and weather reports. You have sprinkled so much pixe dust on me. Thank you all.

For anyone leaving Saturday morning, this morning our local weather suggests the weather is more likely to affect us in the Northeast later Saturday into Sunday rather than Friday night into Saturday, which (fingers crossed) should allow everyone to get out.:wizard::wizard::wizard:

That sounds better! I have a 7am flight out of Boston Saturday so I was starting to panic!

I have one small bag packed. But it's all shoes and FE gifts so I'm not really as far along as I had hoped, lol.
