August 29th, 2009--Eastern Magic...Let's Get it Started!

My4phillygirls are in Kissimmee:cool1: After a three hour delay and having to switch planes because we had no airconditioning, we are here:thumbsup2

Getting ready to go to breakfast.

Joe

Glad you got down there ok, be glad they had a plane to switch you to or it could have been an even longer delay, not that it helps much. Enjoy your stay and you can give DH an earful about his planes when you see him Saturday. :goodvibes

No worries, we are fine:thumbsup2

The only damage is that we missed out on the SUV that we were supposed to rent at Budget. I have a beautiful "soccer mom" minivan for a week:rotfl:

The Bakers are at the airport. 250lbs of luggage! LOL! I still had room for more shoes!

Flights on time, thank you Mother Nature.

Stayed up way too late last night taking care of a few last minute things that popped up. Lucky it's a non-stop and we can sleep.

Breakfast in Albany lunch in Disney! Life is good.

Safe travel to all. See you on the ship Saturday!

Peace Out Cruisers!
Have a safe trip:goodvibes

Yeah! We leave tomorrow morn for the World. today we will hand off this computer to DH's employee who will be handling things at work while we are gone so this may be our last post before we leave. Can't wait, but have lots to do today, Parent's Club meeting, hosting a late lunch for 12 at a friends house, payroll to do, and then finally finish packing. Decided last night that we are going to have to borrow another piece of luggage. Checking one is not enough:rotfl2:

See you all there!! Can't wait to meet you.:cool1:

:dance3::woohoo:

Boots on the ground!

We arrived right on time. Thanks SWA!

Wow! The airport is packed! 100's of people standing in line for ME. Welcome to FD!

Our bus driver is great, he's cracking jokes about bad Jerzey drivers!

It's 98 degrees and humid!

Day one is coming to a close. I'm sitting by the pool enjoying a nightcab. Our resort WL is stunning. It doesn't seem too crowded which is nice.

We spent the afteroon at the pool. Enjoyed dinner at WCC now it's time for a movie on the beach.

Our balcony view is the castle and the monorail. We can sit in bed and watch wishes.

One word describes the weather, sultry!

Tomorrow MK from rope drop to the kiss good night. I hear the park crowds are insane!

So happy to hear everyone is getting to FL safely!!

Keep us posted on the park crowds. I'm so curious as to what it will be like when we finally get down there.

Hope you enjoy yourselves!! See you all soon!!

(We packed the kids stuff today!!!! It's feeling real!!)

We are going to the parks tomorrow for the first time. I'm hoping the crowds will be down from this weekend because school starts in Orlando tomorrow:thumbsup2

Not sure where we will go but we want to go early. The rain has been coming in the afternoons.

Joe

Only 3 more days of work!!! :cool1:

House is clean!

Car washed!

Packing has begun.

Hold placed on Newspaper.
Hold placed on US Mail.

I so need this Vacation!

Since TVEPFOX is now in Vacation Mode, we agreed that I would attempt to fill her shoes while she is incommunicado...

Here is the map...

Here is the close up of the new Low Pressure system...

atl1.gif

The system is about 350 miles east of the Windward Islands, and not very organized. It is moving West-Northwest at 20-25 MPH. At this rate, it will be over the Windward Island in 14-18 hours.

At the rate it's moving, it should be over and past our ports-of-call before we are scheduled to be there, so we should not have any issues making our ports. And there is nothing developing behind it, so once this has moved, we should be in the clear!

Depending on how the system develops and if it keeps it's current pace, we "could" experience some rain and some waves, but at this time, there is a only a very small chance this will develop into anything beyond some rain and thunderstorms. It most likely will be moving West of us as we are heading out to sea.

Anyway, I'll keep an eye on it, in the event there is anyone left here still interested.

See you all soon! :wave2:

Thanks so much!!!!!!! I am here until Friday and still very interested:goodvibes So far it is looking very good for us.:cool1::cool1:

Oh no! I hope that doesn't last too long! Good luck! I'll do the anti-thunderstorms dance so they will go away! :cool1:

This is the exact time I start to wonder if I messed up by booking same-day flights. What if we miss the sailing due to delays!? I won't be calm from this day forward til I'm actually on the boat. In fact that's why I have my count down timer to 5 pm on the 29th: Once that horn blows, THEN nothing can go wrong!!

Also I have nothing packed, but I have lists of what I need. I have the majority of the FE gifts but I can't put them together yet because I'm afraid they will take up too much room. So they will have to be put together onboard. In happier news I have made my FE (first time ever and with a lot of mistakes, but it's an official FE, and I will drink to it proudly! A lot. Because the drunkeness keeps the mistakes out of focus...)

Also in great news my hubby has arranged someone to come in and clean my house while we are gone so all I have to do is straighten up. That frees up more time for drinking. er, I mean packing. Oh hell, packing while drinking. :drinking1
We're also flying down 8/29 a.m. from Wash. DC (Dulles) -- also keeping our fingers crossed that there are no delays. We booked our flights and ground transportation thru Disney, so we hope that will give us a little more "wiggle room" if there's a moderate delay. We won't even think about there being a significant delay that would prevent our reaching the Magic before she weighs anchor!

This is our first cruise -- ever -- and we're very excited, especially our 7 yo son. He's in soccer camp this week, so he'll have some distraction to make the days go faster.

Our housecleaners are coming to our house today, so once we're home this evening, we can haul out the suitcases and commence packing!

Hope everyone has a splendid week whether you're already at "the World," in transit, or working your way down the packing list like us.

Look forward to meeting some of you and having the time of our lives during the cruise!

We're in New Port Richey FL at brother and sister in-laws, arrived Saturday afternoon..we survived the 15 1/2 hour drive from PA with very little drama - it was a smooth trip! Sitting poolside with the kids ..life is good! Although, their air conditioning just broke here :faint:..might need to sleep in the pool float tonight:woohoo:

Can finally say everything is packed and ready to go! Need to drop dog to my girlfriend tomorrow, then boys have soccer practice and boyscouts are climbing at the rock wall. DH gets to pack the car, while mom plays taxi driver. We are planning on leaving 9am on Wed morning and will not have access to a computer after that. We are spending the night north of Savannah, then on to the Radisson on Thursday. We still haven't decided between Grills or Fishlips for dinner. Fishlips seems to have a larger selection, but Grills seems to be the place more people go. According to Shirley's thread, if you show your hotel room key you get a discount on dinner at either one, for those of you going that night. They said to be there no later than 4:15 if you want to get a good seat to see the ships going out. We are planning on telling the boys at dinner that night as the Wonder sails past that they will be on the Magic on Saturday! Can't wait to see their expressions, and can't believe I haven't slipped and told them yet.

Well, things to change over time...

As you can see, these "unorganized showers and thunderstorms" are now a little more organized and is now moved up to an "Orange" level.

What does this mean for us...well, probably not too much. Again, this cell is moving West-Northwest at 20-25 MPH, and still is a few hundred miles east of the Leeward Islands.

National Hurricane Center is showing an increased risk of this intensifying, but still less than 50%.

It still looks as if this would be well to the West of our ports by the time we sail.

Thanks for the update.:worship: Fingers crossed that whatever it is, it is west of our ports by the time we get there . . :wizard:
