August 28, 2004 "LOST AT SEA" Cruise

Terry: Sorry to hear you are cutting your vacation a little short. Hope everything is well again soon.

Ginny: Glad to know that your docs are in Jersey. They made it that far! I'll be looking for your post that they arrived safely into your hands. It IS so much fun and tickles me SO much just to see the little box they come in.

Karel: I'm looking to credit my card with rewards points, too. If you already have the rewards card it isn't really that hard. The only thing I'm not sure about is how to keep track of whether they are crediting me properly. Oh well.

Kathy: Here is some :wizard: for lots of :sunny: for your block party.

I got my DCL planning CD in the mail. Can't wait to watch it. My DH said "Don't we already have one of those?" This is a NEW one! He just shakes his head.

Here is a "2nd" to the wish that everyone is healthy by cruise time. I know I am working on it.

:chat: Talk with you all later.

5 weeks :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I can't believe how summer is flying by.

We are going to South Beach tomorrow night and will be back on Tuesday. DD is feeling a little under the weather but she is on antibiotics and should be OK by tomorrow nights flight. Keep your fingers crossed for us.

Terry...Hope you are all well by cruise time.

Just have to share since I just got in the door. We saw Rod Stewart in concert tonight and the show was INCREDIBLE!!!
He came on at 8:20 and played until 10:50 with a 15 minute break. UNBELIEVABLE.

My friend also received her docs so you all should be getting yours this coming week.

SUNSHINE coming your way for your block party :sunny:

Talk to you all Tuesday

Joanna

Congrats Doreen!!! :hyper:

So in an effort to start getting organized :smooth: I started to think about the post cards I'm going to send back. I'm thinking to do it from Castaway Cay. I'm assuming you can't use US stamps there right? How much does it cost to send a post card from there? and is there a place to find them

Now if I only could get my house in order top to bottom before we leave, I'll really be organized :p

Hi Mary Anne--

Disney has a little post office that sells Bahamian postage right on the dock. It's probably only 50 feet from the gangway of the ship. You can purchase postage and drop your mail off there.

I'm not sure what it costs to mail a postcard but they only take cash at the post office.

Oh, and...

Hi Everyone:

I am back from the Jersey Shore (Wildwood). We had a great week with our friends, and plenty of sunshine.

I booked with All Seasons and no Documents here yet.

I hope they arrive soon! Congrats to all that have received them.

Lyn:sunny:

Hello everyone!

Some group thoughts:

Hope everyone who is a little under the weather :umbrella: is feeling better now!

Congrats to those who recently received documents! :bounce: For those of you still waiting - hang in there and Pixie Dust coming your way :wizard: !

Welcome back to those who returned from vacations (Reenie too even though moving isn't much of a vacation!!) ! :sunny:

Joanna... Enjoy South Beach.

Kathy... Enjoy the blockparty! Lots of FL Sun :sunny: for you!

Bobby... my DH will probably wear some cargo khaki shorts with his new Disney tropical shirt he bought in WDW last week on tropical night. From the navigators I have seen I believe that is the only night where it is not printed "No Shorts". Will have to doublecheck that!

I am happy to report that I have made my first few cruise purchases this weekend - waterproof disposable cameras (we use our digital camera for everything else), travel detergents, and document travel case!!!! Makes the cruise seem closer. Found a little corner of the bedroom to throw a small rubbermaid tote in to put cruise items in! On the lookout for some new clothes now! :) And also made emergency lists for my sister and sister-in-law who will both be watching the boys while we are gone so that is done and now I can re-check it to death to make sure I didn't forget anything!

Everyone enjoy the weekend! :wave2:

Bobby - I would say wear shorts... I know My DH and Son and BIL and Nephew will all be in shorts and I think you will see quite a few pairs of shorts in the dining room that night.

Actually all 8 of us have matching Disney outfits for the cruise.. me and sis have the skirts, 2 daughters have the dresses and the men and boys have the shirts... it should make for a nice picture.

Doreen - I agree with the purging thing.. Dh and I have been doing that lately incase something comes up with a job in Florida and we have to move quickly.... want to be as ready as possible.

Darlene - how long does it take to get the disney reward card.. I am waiting for my month end statement since I also have points that I want to use toward a meal or two at Disney.

Ginny

If any of you need nice dockers type pants for the cruise (or work) Sears has all the lands end mens dockers that are regularly $32.50 each for $13.99. My store had tons of them.. I was able to get DH 3 pairs for work.

Ginny

Ginny--

We ordered ours prior to our cruise in May and received it within ten days. As long as you have at least ten points, you can order the card and then add additional points before you leave for Disney. You can add additional points over the web or over the phone and the only restriction is that you have to have a minimum of ten points to add to your card.

Hello everyone

I'm so glad more people are getting their docs now. I was beginning to almost feel guilty for having ours when no one else did. ;) I guess their random delivery method is sort of like upgrades - no particular rhyme or reason - it just happens.

Jason. Love your daily countdown!

Joanna
That sounds like a great concert. I especially like Rod Stewart's new stuff, which is really old stuff of course. I just don't like to see him try to dance. He just can't move! I could have won tickets to see Smokey Robinson at Niagara Falls the other day if I had bothered to refill my cell phone. I knew the answer to the question on the radio and nobody else seemed to. Oh well, it would have cost money to drive there and have dinner and all. More money for cruisin' ! :D

LADIES HELP!!!! Do we need 7 dresses for dinner for seven nights? DS and DD's are all taken care of, but I'm flipping because I can't tell if I have enough to wear.... Even I can't say I don't have anything to wear! Our last cruise I only needed four nice dinner outfits, and I was six mos. along w/DS! Also, It's been a while since I've read the boards so...
I'm also a blond, and I would love to go to a 40th bash, even though I'm only 35, and Bobby and I would never move our cooler!
Can't wait to cruise!!!

Hi Cindy :wave2:

I cruised last year with my 2 brothers and their wives, and I decided back then that the next time I cruised, I'd wear a sundress or casual dress, even on casual nights. I'm a round-figured person, and even though I had on "nice" capris and tops, I felt underdressed wearing them. My SILs wore sun dresses on the casual nights, and I really had wished I had done the same thing. So.....this year, I am packing 3 formal type dresses (formal night, semi-formal night, and Palo night), plus 4 long sundresses for the casual nights. I'll pack shorts for the daytime, but I won't be wearing capris or pants at all to dinner.

If I had a nice figure, I'd probably go for the capris or dressy pants on casual nights, but either way, I feel you can't go wrong wearing a dress, even on casual nights :)

Ginny - did you find those pants at Cherry Hill Mall? I need to go to Sears tomorrow (at Deptford) to exchange my son's new pants and that's a great price.

DV Rewards - I've been waiting forever for my account to be credited with reward points and I have now successfully ordered my reward card. I'm hoping to get it within two weeks. Now I have to decide what to do with the points. Since we upgraded to a deluxe at WDW, I think I'll put the points towards our room.

Dinner clothes - I have a dress for formal night, a nice pants suit for semi formal and pants with various blouses for dinner. Oh, I also have a denim skirt and white sweater too. I just packed most of it today!

I wouldn't get too worried about the clothes. Do what you feel comfortable in . As long as it's not shorts and jeans, you'll be fine.

For those spending a few days at Disney before the cruise, the Wide World of Sports has the AA Atlanta braves team playing that week. Monday the play the AA Yankes, Wednesday the AA Phillies and Friday the AA Tigers.

We'll be doing the Monday and probably take in the Friday game before we head out to the Radisson.

Gotta fill my guys up with sports before they have a week of withdrawal

If you have premium annual passes, it's free to see the games and it really is an enjoyable couple of hours.
