August 26, 2010 3 night Wonder cruise

Hi all,

Glad to hear you had a nice get away to Disneyland Paris, Karin.

Sorry, I don't think I will be participating in the FE for this cruise. We are boarding the Wonder on August 3rd and disembarking on August 29th. We are staying on for 6 cruises. If I did the FE's for all my cruises, I would need a few more pieces of luggage.

My oldest daughter wants to do the FE when she boards on the 13th. So we may just do that one only.

I would love to be part of any meet that you have. Hopefully, it will be planned before I leave here for the first leg of my vacation.

I will have fun walking around and looking at everyones beautiful FE's.

Lucky Dawn!!!! THat sound great. We will have to set a meet before you sail, we will definately use you as our resource!!!

I bought all the pieces for my FE gifts!!! Hehehehe....... I know that is a teaser, but you guys are the only ones who will get as excited as I got!!!

Hi --

For all the veteran cruisers out there ... We are trying to figure out what happens if you're doing a back to back cruise in the same stateroom. I'm hoping we don't have to pack up, disembark, recheck luggage, re-register, etc. Will they let us stay on the boat?

Thanks

This is going to be our first back to back cruise as well. What we have been told (last summer) was that we had to disembark, but since we would stay in the same stateroom we could leave all our belongings in the room.
We would then have to check in for cruise no2, get a new key to the world and would be allowed back on later in the morning.

Here is what I found on the DIS about it. Hope that helps.

I totally understand not taking part in FEs for 6 cruises! :lmao: You would need lots more luggage to carry everything home.

I will definitely try to organize some meets, but we are at the end of the school things and there is not much time left for planning and fun, but once school is over I will post details!

Oh, that's not fair - now I have to wait and think about what wonderful goodies you got!! ;) :goodvibes
Honestly, we are working on ours as well. Tom is very good at it, I learned that last year when I signed up for a FE exchange and he had to do most of the work! :rotfl2:

We're in room 6618!

Guests are myself (Jen), Adam (hubby), Ethan (5) and Rowan (little girl, 2). Looking forward to cruising with you folks, and a big thanks to Karin for organizing!

Jen

Thanks for letting me know! I updated the list. Can't wait to meet you all! :goodvibes

Jen,
We did not book anything for Naussau, since the kids think the ship is the best destination. We usually get off the ship and visit Sr. Frogs. My kids love that place! We have been to Naussau a few times, if you are looking for something fun to do, go over to Atlantis and see the aquarium your kids are the perfect age for it.

Well it's getting closer we have bought some FE bits now. Thinking if you could update the list Dizneeat please with our crew, Dad Steve, Mum Katrina, DD Issy (Isabelle) 5 and DS Sam 2.

Is anyone thinking of / has done the Castaway 5k? I am thinking of it for this time but wondering if it is worth it.

We got moved to 1st dinning which is good as I doubt they would eat much too late. Still no room assignment yet.

Another question someone might know the answer to I might post on the main cruise board as well, in the passporters guide they mention a couple of times about going into the kids clubs with an under3 so long as you supervise. I can't imagine at the moment our little stitch (picture the scene where he makes the city to knock it down...) wanting to spend much time in Flounders. We know that until we try it we won't know but from the pictures it looks too small to really cope with him (I know the CMs must be used to this though).

Does anyone know if we can really go into the kids clubs with him for an activity?

Hi Katrina,

The Cast members will allow you in a visitor and tag both you and DS as that. Ryan has a lot of anxiety in a new place and they welcomed me to come in with him since he was not able to stay there without me. (they paged after a few minutes) They were wonderful he participated in the activity, and I stood by a a security object. We went for craft activites because that is what my kids love. The CM's offered me a chair, and anything else they could for my comfort. They were wonderful. I am sure they would follow the same procedure for you. THere are specific open family time too to play. Hope this helps you.

Kim

Thanks Kim that is good to know we are not planning to go ashore at Nassau now, thought about beach day somewhere but thought we would stay on the ship as part of the thing with this cruise is seeing if it is for us. Looking in past navigators there is a thing or two he might like to do and is used to playing with larger children.

Can't wait

Hi back to backers!

If you are sailing back to back and are booked in the same stateroom for each cruise you will receive a letter the night prior to the following cruise on where and what time to meet.

On the Magic it was at 9:00 a.m. in Preludes. As a group we are then escorted down through customs and then we walk back up to the port for a quick check in. You will need to take passports with you.

Since they usually don't allow you to come right back onto the ship, you may want to either hop on a shuttle and head over to Walmart or hop in a cab to other stores. I always find I could use a few extra things that I may have forgotten, and this is a great day to get that done.

Leave everything in your cabin and make sure your cabin steward knows you are staying on for a back to back, and constant reminders won't hurt. (I do have a story that goes with that suggestion, and it isn't pleasant)

We've had our younger kids go into the older kids club to "play" when we picked up our older son. The CMs were fine with it as long as we were with our younger child. But when we left, he left with us ....

We have a 2 year old too, so I'm hoping they'll be able to handle the active toddler for a couple hours. We have used Flounders over the years with our middle child the CMs in Flounder's were amazing, and there were a lot of them for the small number of kids in there.

Hey, we are also doing the Back2Back  and I was wondering if we could stay on board. Thanks for your info!!! We still do not have a room assigned so I can't provide the room info for the FE :headache:

The Disney rep on the phone told me that the Customs folks pirate: wanted to see us, so yes, we would have to disembark and then get back on.

You mentioned that there is a shuttle to a Walmart - Where can you get this shuttle? How far is the Walmart?

Monica :cool1:

We are still waiting for our cabin assignment too! I heard a few days ago, they were starting to assign people from the 17th sailing so I am hoping that we will be hearing about our cabin assignments anyday now. I have finished all me FE gifts so they are waiting to be packed. I can't wait!

All you GTY's check your booking we have a cabin!!!! 6639, its a cat 11 which is what we paid for, so no pixie dust, but I am happy to just know where I am hanging my hat!!

Just wondering if anyone has received their cruise documents yet? We're still waiting...

Will this be the first or second leg of your trip?

I got most of my FE stuff this week - it is pretty awesome to see it all come together! :goodvibes
We leave in just 4 more weeks and I am getting more excited by the minute!

Thank you for your stateroom number - I will put it on the list and update that this weekend. Tom is working on a map of the Wonder which shows where all the FE participants "reside". We will send it out once it is finished.

No, we haven't! :sad2: But then it will take a little longer for ours to arrive anyway. I have printed out the forms from the internet just in case! ;)

We haven't gotten the documents for this cruise yet, but this is the second half of a back to back, and we got the prior cruise on Thursday, so we should see something early this week.
