August 26, 2006 Magic

The only excursions we have booked are Tulum in Mexico and the Nautilus in Grand Cayman. We'll be doing Key West on our own (we have the buy one get one free coupons for the Old Town Trolley)

BF and I are using the keywest coupons. No Cozumel Exc planned and in GC he is diving and I think I am going to do the thriller boat excursion.

Is it bad that I haven't started packing yet? :confused3

We are getting closer!!!!!

:sad1: I just had some bad news. My mother-in-law, who is traveling with us, broke her right arm today. She is 76, and she will be in her own cabin. With just a little over two weeks until we leave, needless to say, this is not good. It will be difficult for her to do everyday things, and we don't know how she will handle the excursions we have planned. I don't even know if she will be able to go on the tenders, as they have to help you on and off, and she will be in a cast and sling. We also have plans to be at Universal the day before, so she will probably be sitting most things out, except for the shows. I feel so bad for her because this will definitely put a damper on her enjoyment of the trip which we have been looking forward to for a long time. :sad1:

Kaceyisme--I am so sorry to hear about your MIL :sad2: That puts a damper on things, but it can and will be done, right? :thumbsup2 I'll say a prayer, hopefully she's not too uncomfortable. I am getting really excited now. Going to rent tuxes for my boys tomorrow. I just started a new job today, thankfully they were great about me taking two weeks off! :woohoo: I also just purchased a new house which we will move into after we come home from the cruise. :cool1: I think my head is going to explode. :rotfl2: I need this vacation--BIG TIME!

Thanks for your kind words Princess Dottie. I know we'll still have a great time, but this will make it more of a challenge.

It sounds like you have a lot going on in your life! All good!! There is alway a ton of pressure with a new job and especially with moving to a new house! You'll need a vacation after you come back :rotfl:

Kaceyisme-
My MIL is 77 and she is on oxygen, so she is not going to be doing many of the excursions. Lets' hook up the MIL so they can have some extra company.
Her name is Ginny and she is a riot- they should get along well
Cathy

Great idea doccath. It looks like she might not be able to do some of our excursions, so company will be appreciated.

Did we ever finalize the meet and greet. I have been trying to figure out are we at the pool, studio sea , topsiders???
I have my lime green shirt and I am raring to go... :cool1:
Anyway, all the tickets are here, luggage down from storage and clothes starting to go in.
Now the hard part.... fitting my entire wardrobe into one suitcase. I think I'll need to sit on the suitcase for this trip :rotfl2:

I was just reading a post on another Disney list I am on. Someone is cruising on the Magic on 9/2. She called DCL to see about shipping a box to her stateroom with the items that are now not allowed as carryons on planes. She was told that no liquids would be allowed in the shipped boxes. I emailed my travel agent about liquids in the carry-ons. I haven't heard anything yet. I was wondering if anyone else thought of these items. I know Nicholas will be in the pool quicker than I can blink and he will need sunscreen.
I was also thinking about Celestine, who is coming from the UK. I hope we hear from her.

I am going today to ship out one big box (at least) ahead to the cruiseline. Hopefully it will be there waiting when we get there. I am also going to ship some other things onto Florida. The less we luggage etc we have to deal with the better. Leaving next Friday...can't wait, but have alot more to do!
I want to do a door sign, I have never done that before! I am going to give it a try...but nobody laugh, I failed in Art.

Esteri, I was going to send you a picture of our family for your website....could not find your email....

See you real soon...

we are going on the 8/26 cruise. it will be our third one i am happy to say!!however, the previous two i never knew about dis boards or meet and greets with other passengers so this is very exciting for me. my dh and i have a dd, age 6, who has been quite lonely on the last two cruises because she did not know anyone at the goofy pool or in the club so please count us in for meeting new disny cruise fanatics like us!!

I don't think meet details were finalized.

I know a few people expressed interest in an inside location. I certainly wouldn't mind that.

Why don't we just make it inside--just in case its unbearably hot.
Outside the theater or Studio Sea? Make a choice.

I still haven't received my documents. I have called my travel agency every day since Friday! Disney Fedex'd most documents out Thursday/Friday.

As of Friday, the agency didn't get the docs. No one answered Saturday/Sunday.

I called Monday and they still didn't get the docs. They wound up calling Disney to get new docs printed.

Tuesday, still haven't got either set of docs

Wednesday, one set of the docs came in and they were checking them.

Thursday (today) they told me that they were mailing them out priority 2 day for our home.

I DONT KNOW ABOUT THE OTHERS, BUT AS SOON AS WE BOARD WE HEAD UP TO TOPSIDERS, THEY HAVE INSIDE A/C DINING AS WELL AS OUTSIDE DINING. IT IS LESS CROWDED AND THE FOOD IS GREAT! THEN WE HEAD STRAIGHT TO THE GOOFY POOL WHERE MY DD6 SWIMS UNTIL IT IS TIME FOR THE CG DRILL. I THINK THAT IS WHY IT WAS MENTIONED AS THE MEETING PLACE. THERE IS AN AREA OVER BY THE DRINK STATION THAT IS SHADED AND ACCOMMODATING FOR A GROUP, THAT WAY THE ADULTS CAN CHAT WHILE WATCHING THE KIDS SWIM AFTER THEY HAVE MET THEIR NEW FRIENDS. ANY IDEAS?

Hi Kinseys mom, I have a daugher that is almost 5. She would love to meet a friend ahead of time. If you want to , they could exchange an online picture and introduce themselves.....

i am not a computer expert and the dis boards are new to me. please provide directions and we can work on it! my dd is very outgoing and likes making new friends! she has to be, she's an only child!

pamjb - thank you for the kind thoughts :thumbsup2 . The last 24hours here have been quite busy. Both DH & I work for the government, and he is a transport manager, so you can imagine his workload at the moment! So with just a week until we fly out, it seems to be a bit of a major rethink on the luggage front, especially with cameras etc. Hoping next week will see a clearer picture, but at least we shouldn't miss the cruise unless severely delayed as we arrive in Orlando Monday 21 (knowing my luck that'll be the day of a hurricane!).

Door signs are done & this week-end will see mega washing ready for packing. Despite all of this I'm still more excited than the kids :cool1:

I like the idea of a meet by Mickey's in the shade, but will go with the majority vote

Can't wait to meet you all very very soon

Celestine

Hi Kinseysmom, You are welcome to email me at alexcturner@aol.com Meredith will respond with a note and picture to your daugher, Kinsey right?

Still no idea where to meet?

I know a few of you are meeting at a pool, but which one? The Mickey, Goofy or adult?

If you wanted to meet inside lets narrow that down...

Studio Sea

Outside the theater

Cove Cafe (Is this even big enough?)

I still haven't gotten my docs yet either.

Let's finalize the meet and great by the soda station outside Topsiders
it's shaded the kids can play in the pool, we can start hydrating ourselves
etc..
Lisa, My DD Catie wants to play with your daughter, she is already excited about all her new friends.
