August 25, 2012 Magic in NYC!!!!

Well hello fellow "weight watchers"! I usually do fine on Weight Watchers, I don't know why I'm not "into it" this time around. I would love to be 15 pounds down by the cruise, ideally 20. Need that five pound cruise food cushion!

We, too, will be upgrading to the premier visa. DH couldn't see paying for a card, but I showed him how we would make up the cost in less than 3 months based on our spending habits, and that was before I noticed the 5x for the first 3 months. It will put a healthy amount in our on board account.
(And, I don't know how, but I forgot about the balance of the cruise. Thanks for the reminder! We may hold off a couple of days now.

Thanks for the info on Comfort Suites. That looks like a good option, too. Plenty to think about! Have fun next week!

Have a great weekend everyone. We have a rare weekend with just one basketball game, I don't know what I will do with myself!

Not having a lot of time to bounce around different sites... I have finished the shirt template. I just wanted to see if everyone has been to our Facebook page... Thanks.

Yes i've been on Facebook but have to say that I'm not sure everyone will use Facebook. This may just be me, as I'm pretty new to Facebook and just use it on my phone so haven't been able to access fe spreadsheet as yet. I like to check the disboards for my cruis info.
T shirt design is really nice, we won't need t shirts thanks.

Hope I don't sound really negative, I don't mean to just sometimes technology runs over my head!!!

I didn't realize this cruise had a facebook page. Does anyone have the link handy? Thanks!

I think I found the FB page, and I put in a request to join, if it's the right group! If you see a request from Jodie, that's me!

I'm glad to see we don't have any abadoners so far, lol!

annichan, we'll still see you on the B2B as well. :goodvibes

We will likely stay on the ship in Nassau .. anyone esle?

I can hardly wait for this cruise to swing around - I wish it wasn't still more than 6 months away!

As for Nassau, this will be our first visit so we will definitely go off the ship and have a look around. I don't know if we'll manage it in the August heat, but we are looking at just walking around town for a few hours and looking at the sights ...

Don't look at as 6 months away, look at it as 198 days, less than 200!

Thanks Techjpm for taking the time to set up facebook and design T. I am not a facebook fan (I guess you can say I do not "like" facebook), so you won't be seeing me there. T-shirt wise, we like to show up in our Phillies t's, although I doubt this year I'll be able to convince the kids to wear matching t's. At least we will have a theme. (BTW, pitchers and catchers report in 11 days!)

Busy week for us, in addition to the usual, DD will be getting her braces Friday, the middle school Valentine's Dance is Friday night (DS will be going stag), and the Father/Daughter Dance is Saturday night. I'm hoping the dress for the dance will still fit in August for formal night, that will be one thing off my list.

Later!

I don't do Facebook either, sorry. But we'll be there in our Phillies gear too! Hopefully they will be in good shape by then and i wont have to worry about missing games while onboard.

For those non Facebook people, are any of you participating with the FE? Wouldn't want you to miss out.

We're going to book our flights this week, I hope! We ended up deciding to fly to New York and then fly on to our friends in Pittsburgh, way cheaper than staying 4 nights in New York.

We're also hoping my parents might decide to join us, would be a help with the kids but I know they really enjoyed the last cruise they did. Just need to try and push them a little further and they may just make it!!

As for weight loss, I have to lose lots of pounds or my formal night dress will not fit, but if I start now I'll give up before the cruise. So I think after Easter I will begin the calorie counting!!!!

Go Phils! I am a little worried this year, they seem so old (although I have always been a Thome fan and am glad to see him back)! However, one of my work colleagues points out that the last time we lost the world series, that team was, on average, old. We'll see.

Didn't think about the FE & FB. We hadn't done it the last two cruises, mostly because I couldn't rationalize giving up the valuable suitcase space. Since we are driving this time, I was thinking maybe...I even had a pretty good idea. But, then again, maybe not.

I'm trying to get my sister and her significant other, the Turk, to join us. He'd go in an instant, but she's pretty tight with the $$ so I don't know. I figure after the final payments are due, maybe I can find her a deal she can't refuse.

Hi, We are an Aussie family who have 1 cabin booked originally it was me and DS14 DD13 DS11 but now DH And DS16 can come as well we need to book a second cabin I have been checking the site daily and it seem to be offering me the same cabins. I am just a bit nervous about cabin allocations as mine is a 9b GTY will be booking DH in the same category.
This cruise is a surprise actually our whole trip is a surprise the kids will be finding out when we leave for the airport I am contemplating not telling them about the cruise until the day of as well.

Hi everyone. Glad to see we stil have some new folks pilng in!

We are still debating what we want to do for PC day at WDW. We are not morning people, but can buck it up for one day. Hate to waste our 1-day park hopper. Our booking day opens the day before we leave for WDW, so between that and deciding what to do ... oh, to have such "life" problems, right? What is everyone's WDW plan? Is anyone NOT doing WDW on PC day?

annichan, sure hope we get to meet up, especially since you are B2B on the same cruises as us. We are 39 and 43, and are usually belly-up-to-the-bar, though not party-type, people. Fine, I am 39 now. At this minute. But won't be on the cruise. I hate that. I always used to love that Mike was in the 40-49 age range when he swiped his card to get off the ship, and I was 30-39. Hmmphh. We do have reservations for the Hoop-De-Doo Review for my 40th, to lessen the blow ....

"belly-up-to-the-bar"? That is so cool, I've never heard that expression before! Sounds like us though, as well as the "not really party-type people" part. So yeah, it definitely sounds like we need to meet up! :thumbsup2

And I totally feel your pain about that, erm, transition to the 40-49 age range. I have one more year to go than you, but come December 2013 I'm in the same boat! (At least your DH is older than you - mine STAYS in the 30-39 range for years yet! :headache:)

I just upgraded to a cat T, 1 bedroom suite. I had a cat 7A one of the secret verandah cabins on deck 7, if anyone wants to switch to it, it may still be available.:thumbsup2

Cool, what a nice upgrade! :cool1:

We already have one of the 7A secret verandahs on deck 6, so no competition from us!

which Cabin are you in? We're in 8034?

We're in 8602. I was lucky since it was the only one left at this time, after months of procrastinating. It has no jacuzzi, just 2 showers because it's HA. But I hear that the balcony is a hugh wrap around and the cabin is as big or bigger than those midship cat Ts next to the R suites. I'm really excited.

You are right on all counts. We were in 8100 on our med cruise, also HA and it was huge in comparison to the regular suites. We loved it. We actually have it again on our 6/15 2 day NYC cruise. We had enough room in there for the pull out couch to be open and have a roll away bed and there was plenty of room. In comparison, we have a roll away bed in a regular cat t on the wonder this past August and there was no room to move once the beds were open.

We didn't miss the jacuzzi tub...never really use it anyway.

My husband and I will be celebrating our anniversary on this cruise. As a surprise I upgraded us to a category 5B and got room number 6082. I think he will really enjoy the veranadah.
