Welcome:dance3:

It's so nice that this board is finally picking up momentum. The Magic is great. This will be our 3rd time on it and we were on the Wonder this past cruise in Alaska. We feel very at home on the Magic - it's small enough to not feel overwhelmed and large enough to never feel crowded. You'll love it.

Welcome! What a nice way to celebrate your 1st anniversary.

Sailed out of NY on NCL last February and didn't have any issues with parking..got to pier a few hours in advance. It's sooooo convenient to park at the pier!!!! You have to pay when you arrive and I think it's $30/night..

Sorry - no advice there - although we're about an hour away, we're probably going to take a car service back and forth - probably a bit more expensive then parking but then no worries about anything happening to the car in NYC for 8 days.

I'm seeing $30 for parking on line. Is the parking not secure? We haven't made any decisions yet on transport. We may do car service, and park at Mark's cousin (who lives in Linden) to save $$. We could also do the train, but the 8 days worth of luggage (+ booze) gives me pause, and how far is the train station to the port? The 4 of us plus luggage may = 2 cabs. So much to think on!

We haven't been to WDW in a long while, so I think we will start our day at DHS, want to do the Toy Story ride and the re-vamped Star Tours, but I really doubt we'll stay there. Probably will go on to Epcot.

The planning is half the fun! :cool1:

DH called our concierge about that email and found out that it probably shouldn't have gone out yet. There's nothing we can do about booking it at this point.

Yeah, I was online trying to book the 7.30 am transportation to the parks, until I realized we can't book until May 2012:headache:

Seeing that it's a park hopper pass worth at least $120 each, we'll surely be hopping between Epcot and Magic kingdom. Lunch or early dinner at Tepan Edo
with counter service at MK to hold us over for return to the ship at 11.30p.
(Rainforest sauna room next day after sleeping in)

Does anyone know if the water park is included in these tickets ? If so then it's worth at least $175.

It's a pity that DCL only gives us the option of using these tickets only on the Port Canaveral day and NO discount for already owning a valid annual pass.

Don't know how safe the parking is, I'm sure it's fine. At $30 per day, that kind of justifies using the car service and nothing to worry about in any case. It should cost me about 150 each way with door to door service and no worries about driving.

That's what I was thinking. Since it's our last port and we have 2 sea days post...go all out that day and just sleep the next day and relax.

parking seems to be secure...it's elevated and there is a booth before you enter but not sure if there is someone there 24/7...we had no issues last February...

we live 1/2 hr away so it's so easy for us...

I admit I have been pretty absent from this thread lately, but now that the thread has picked up so much, I guess it's time to become more active! :)

The cruise seems very close to me all of a sudden anyway, as we booked our flights and NYC accommodation yesterday. Getting really excited now!

I will definitely also make use of the included WDW pass and hit the parks for the day - although I admit I'm a bit nervous about the crowds and hot weather, as I've only been to WDW in late October and late April so far.

DH is not sure whether he wants to join me or just stay at Port Canaveral - so this may well become my first ever solo day at WDW. Will definitely start out at MK to see what's new in Fantasyland, but will probably also hop to Epcot later (like the majority here, it seems!).

I wouldn't really worry about the crowds at WDW...it's actually a week where attendence is not too bad. All the southeastern schools are already back in session. It's probably not as empty as October or April, but it's really not that bad. August has been tricky the last few years weather wise. It's been known to be cool that week as well.

Yes it will be hot (drink lots of water), but it won't be nuts crowded like Xmas time. When we do go to WDW this is the week we usually go. The North East doesn't go back to school until after Labor Day. Just plan ahead for the things you have to do. Fast pass is your friend :).

If I had my way we would hit all four parks! LOL... We will be at both MK and Epcot.

Welcome...expect to be spoiled...I tried to get on the facebook page and never heard back to see if I could join the group. Most cruise stuff usually happens here on the boards anyway.:cool1:

I have read up on what a FE is and have seen many gifts that were received from the exchange but most people say you need to find out the rules from your own meet page. Are there rules for the exchange on this cruise or did I miss something and this is not the case? I was wondering how many people so far are signed up to do the exchange and what is the normal guideline as in price per person, daily gifts or 1 main gift, etc? Any advice in, specific regards to this cruise would be helpful. Once again this is our first time cruising with Disney and I am traveling with 11 people in 5 rooms and I want to have all the info when discussing things they may want to take part in while on the ship. Thanks in adavnce. :worship:

Hi - you are right, the FE group decides how to run the FE. I believe there is a list on page one of this board that shows who's coming and who might be interested. My DH, who started this thread usually updates that post. I let him know yesterday that he needs to do that, he hasn't visited here much of late. I don't know if anything has been decided as to what everyone is doing for the FE yet. This board was virtually dead for the last few months.
