August 25, 2012 Magic in NYC!!!!

Hi all - I am new to this sight. This will be my 2nd Disney Cruise and we are very excited. Traveling with me is my DH - DD 7yrs old and DD 3yrs old. My husband, older daughter and I sailed on the Disney Magic in 2007. Would someone please explain to me how the fish extenders work and let me know if it still possible to join in the fun. Thank you

Welcome!!!!!!

I see a 2BR suite (Cat S) opened up for our cruise. Concierge has been sold out for a while now, and today I checked on the pricing for our cruise, and sure enough, there it was. That must mean that someone paid a hefty penalty to cancel that stateroom after final payment was due. The bargain price for that Cat S is only 6280$ per first 2 adults. :goodvibes

Saw that too, wow, pricey. I just spent 1/2 hour on the phone explaining to my sister why she doesn't want to book OGT if she doesn't want to be on Deck 1. She wants to be on Deck 2 with us, but why would you book 9C at almost 4000, when you can book VGT at less than 3300 and suffer with a verandah :confused3? Still don't know if she will book though, she and the boyfriend not that good at making decisions.

:idea:so offer to give her the deck 2 room and YOU GUYS take the Verandah Cabin - problem solved
:lmao:

Actually 9 weeks...Kids have 8 weeks camp and one week extended camp and then we leave...that's how I keep track...:)

Yup, that is how I am keeping track as well. Two weeks of overnight camp, six weeks of day camp, and one week of theater camp, then we leave :cool1:

Why didn't I think of that :thumbsup2?!

OK, why does everyone else have camps leading up to vacation? All the day camps around here end 8/10, leaving us two weeks before the cruise wide open.

We have 1 week between camp and the cruise - I never could quite understand why they don't last longer into the summer, always leaves me scrambling for child care

Had a great time on our 2 day cruise to nowhere - so looking forward to getting back on board :goodvibes

We broke the news to the kids about this cruise when we came home from the 2 night. We bought them "I :earsboy: NY" shirts from the ship. We inserted a picture of the Magic sailing past the Statue of Liberty and had the characters sign an 'invitation' to join them before they sailed away. Kids were so cute, they originally thought the picture was just cardboard - then my son's eyes got wider as he realized what he was looking at. They are now very excited

Glad the secret is out - I had a hard time not slipping up :)

Happy Summer!:cool2:

I am in the same situation. DS had 1 week before camp, 8 weeks of camp, then 1 week after camp and before vacation. This is the usual for us.

Normally we take vacation that last week of August, and that leaves us one week after camp ends, but the calendar is weird this year and we have two stray weeks.

I called about movies today (as the kids are away at sleep away camp, I find I have time on my hands :thumbsup2). The woman I talked to said to call the week before for the final list, but right now on the Magic, the following movies are showing (and are likely to be showing at the end of August).

The Avengers
Brave
Muppet Movie
The Help
Toy Story 3D
Tangled 3D
Cars 2
Real Steel
John Carter
Chimpanzee
People Like Us (premiering this week)

We got lucky this year our town offered an extended camp week...so the kids regular camp (which I pay mucho bucks for) ends the 17th and then they go to town camp for a week, which was pretty cheap.

Hi all! We are less than 2 months and I'm soooooo excited!:banana:

I am not on FB (I know, I'm like the only one in the world :guilty:) and am interested in doing FE. Is there anyway I can find out if there's any rules, the amount of people involved, how many adults vs. kids, etc.

Thanks!:goodvibes

Timing is everything...I just asked the same question on the FB page....Do we have a final FE list? Is it closed? I know John was collecting the info on his spreadsheet, but don't know if anything has happened since then.

Thanks.:goodvibes No worries if I'm too late to join. I'm sure I could find another place to spend that money.;)

.

You are lucky! Our town camp/recreation program stinks. Even when our adult boys were kids it was bad. It is only 6 weeks, and is too short of a day. It is basically group babysitting.
