August 25, 2011

Hi everyone, I'm sorry I haven't posted here for a while, but we have been crazy busy with too much going on. Actually, looks like we will not be sailing with you all this time, my wife's company has changed her vacation schedule and we had to change our cruise dates. We will be sailing right after you all, Sept 8th and 11th, and will be staying at POR until Sept 24th.

I really wish you all a Happy Sailing and definitely look forward to sailing with you folks sometime in the future.

You guys take care,

Dennis :flower3:

i just posted on the main board...but didn't know if anyone here knows the answer?

i tend to overbuy at shutters. i know that the backdrops will repeat for both cruises, but i have 4 kids...and i'm sure that some of the pics won't turn out for the 1st segment of cruise. does shutters offer any way to "hold" the pics from both segments of cruise, and then i pick a photo package at the end of the b2b? or am i gonna be stuck buying a package from the first seg and then another package on the 2nd seg?

I am sorry, I won't be much help, we never bought a package at shutters. But I can tell you that we were not able to book a larger internet package as, like they told me ....... everything is deleted and has to be started again!

I am sorry you won't be cruising with us, Dennis, but I am happy that you managed to book another cruise.

We'll be "neighbours" at WDW, we are staying at OKW right up the street until Sept 10!

Have a fun vacation!

How nice to have you along for the ride as well! I added you to the FE list. So far no need for a room number - I will make a more precise list with first names lateron, as we love to personalize our gifts!

It's less than 7 months until cruise time! :thumbsup2

Wow! thats so exciting!! :lovestruc Which day are you getting married? My ceremony will be August 26th. I wanted to enjoy my time on Cast away Cay so i opted out for the onboard cermony as well.

Just been catching up on all the news about the Dream and getting very excited about our first cruise! What is everyone most excited about? For my DDs I think it must be the Aquaduck, but also we think Animators Palate looks like fun! And I can't wait to see the show Believe...:yay:

Only thing we are unsure about it is the kids clubs. With one DD almost 10 and the other 11 at the time of sailing it seems they will be in different clubs :confused3 which they won't like at all.

Karin - please count us in for the FE exchange :goodvibes.

Can't believe there will be two weddings on the cruise! :goodvibes

We are getting so excited too! I cannot wait to finally get onboard.
You got me thinking about what we are excited about most ........ because we are just excited in general. ;) :lmao:
Guess we are excited about exploring this huge ship in the 11 nights we will be there! The new restaurants and the shows are something we look forward too as well!
AND meeting all those friends from the DISboards will be fun as well!

Hi,

New to these boards, and semi-new to cruising....

My daughter (12) and I will be sailing on the Dream on 8/25 as well.
This will be my 2nd Disney cruise (my first was way back in 1998 on the Magic!) and my 3rd cruise overall. We did Alaska last year on Holland America. Really looking forward to my daughter experiencing a Disney cruise, and the Dream sounds wonderful!
:earsboy:

Hi and :welcome:
It is my family's first cruise and we are very excited too. Are you staying at WDW too or just doing the cruise?

Thanks! We are most likely going to be staying at Port Orleans, for 4 nights before the cruise, just haven't booked it yet. We've been to WDW many times, and stayed there once before and liked it. VERY excited for the cruise part!

BTW, I would love to join in on the FE...had to look up what it was first!

How wonderful to have you join our little group of DIScruisers! :woohoo:
This will be our fourth, fifth and sixth Disney cruise. They got us "hooked" in 2009! ;)

I am so looking forward to meeting you and your daughter on board!

If you are staying at POR (or FQ) we will be neighbours as Tom and I are staying at Old Key West before the cruise. With so many people being at WDW before the cruise, maybe we can all meet before the cruise too!

I will add you to the group of cruisers and FE participants right after posting this!

I just booked for myself and my two best friends. We're celebrating their 30th birthdays and I'd love to be apart of the FE! This will be my second cruise and second one on the Dream. Yay!

I just love that our little group is growing! :goodvibes
So, this is going to be your second cruise on the DREAM. Guess we will be bugging you with questions! ;) :lmao:
When is/was your first one on the Dream? Did you go on the Maiden Voyage?

Okay, enough questions ........ I will add you to the list and FE list right now! :)

I was on the second voyage, 1/30, for 4 nights. We decided having a more empty ship was worth missing the MV! One of my friends was on a Carnival ship a week prior and had a terrible experience, so I told her that she needed to cruise with Disney.

This will be my first FE though, so I'll try to answer as many questions as you all have but I may not know all the answers!
:dance3:

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly! :thumbsup2
Disney cruises are the best! I hope your friend will have the experience of a lifetime - I know we did! We said that in 2009 we would go on our "once in a lifetime" cruise - well, this summer we are doing no 4, 5 and 6! :rotfl2:
Tell me about getting hooked on Disney!

You are going to love the FE! We did it every year and it is just so much fun! I will put up a list of people participating once we get back from our trip to WDW and Port Canaveral in just 10 days! I need to take a peek at the ship when we are there! ;)

So, where was your stateroom during your first cruise? Did it really feel as crowded as I read in some of the MV reports? We will be on deck 10 this time and I am questioning if I really want to be so high up already!

Very fun! Yes, I hope she gets hooked on Disney as well. We all met 10 years ago at Disney, so it should be a great time.

We were in 7028, Verandah, port side, deck 7. The room was small but once you were inside, it felt big. We left the verandah door open when we were in the room, so it helped add some extra space.

As for deck 10, the only negative comment I heard was towards the end of the sailing when a lady mentioned she woke up to them power washing the pool deck above her. It wasn't too loud, just an unusual noise and she fell back asleep.

I'd think deck 10 would be nice for the views and also being close to the pool deck and all of the outdoor decks to walk and lounge on!

You are going to love the FE! We did it every year and it is just so much fun!

I was telling my DD about the FE, after reading about it this past weekend...she was so excited, saying "I'm going to get gifts?!?!"

We already started planning ours!!!

And as far as getting addicted to Disney cruising, we haven't even gone yet, and she is already asking if we can go next year, on the Fantasy!

Just thought I'd let you know...the 8/25 cruise is SOLD OUT! I had to call my TA because my cousin was wondering about coming along with her kids. She told me there are no rooms left! And then said how lucky I was to have booked so far in advance! :cool1:

Very excited as we decided to treat ourselves and have upgraded from 11B to 5A :yay:
It's GTY so our cabin will be a surprise! The cruise is sold out though, we just kept checking and I guess someone cancelled.
