We have just booked this cruise.
We are me (Michelle) DH Chris DS Nick(9) and DD Lilli (7)
We are Australian, but currently living in Dubai.
This will be our 5 cruise, but our first on the Dream and unfortunately our shortest.
We would love to participate in the fish extenders and really look forward to meeting everyone

Must be exciting to live in Dubai - one of the places I still look forward to visit and the same goes for Australia. We would love to visit, but the plane ride is just awefully long.

You are really going to enjoy the DREAM. She is a beautiful ship and the Disney service is just awesome.

We are also staying at WDW for a few days befor and after. OKW before and AKL after. These aren't our home resorts but are the only ones at WDW we haven't tried yet.

Dubai is a fun place to live most of the year, but it gets a bit hot in summer. To day was only 44C/111F but last week the car registered 53C/127F.

Man... I don't think I could handle that. We hit 93 F in the city right now and I'm ready to melt... (Humidity is the real killer here though)

We celebrated the "one month to go" date too!

That's okay - just let me know when you find out. We are leaving here on the Aug 11 and will have limited internet access, but you should have it by then.
We are staying at OKW before the cruise too! After THIS cruise we are staying on the DREAM. We won't disembark until Sept 2 and then we go back to OKW. It's such a beautiful resort.

Hi All

Been a while since I have been on the boards. I am just starting to get the suitcases out and get things together.
We will leave NYon Aug 18 and drive down stopping in Hilton Head SC to visit wth relatives. and get to WDW on Aug 21 staying at Bonnet Creek for the days before the cruise and 2 days at the Beach Club after the cruise.
Then the LOOOOONG drive back stopping in Lake George over Labor Day to visit with friends there. Unforetunately gas prices are climbing again

Is anyone planning any meets? on the cruise or on Castaway Cay?

We leave a week before you and I have not even thought about our suitcases. Don't give me any ideas.
Your trip sounds fun, but I do hear you on the gas prices! They have gone up skyhigh here too.

As far as I know no one has planned any meets yet. But there is still a month and maybe someone wants to plan one.

Can't wait to get back on the ship!

I was wondering if anyone would like to meet pre-cruise at DTD on the Wed maybe sometime early evening.
The also I would love to have a Dis meet on the 1st day of the cruise. I have never been on the Dream so I am not sure where would be a good place.

Is there a cutoff date for the FE? I hope there is one soon since we have less than a month left until sail time. Many of us have WDW stays before the cruise too so we leave in just a matter of weeks. I don't want to add the stress of making more FEs last minute, KWIM?

Important Fish Extender update!​

We will have a cut off date for joining our Fish Extender gift exchange, which will be


July 31st


Why this early date?
Some of us leave early for vacation and some gifts require a little time to finish.


So, if you are still thinking about joining the FE exchange, please sign up before July 31st.

Michelle, we might drop by on Wednesday late afternoon/early evening depending on your schedule.

Feel free to plan some meets. For a first meet the Vista Cafe is always a good spot, it's only a deck up from the Atrium and easy to find. The last few years I have always hosted our meets there, but it is too much for me to plan meets as well. I need to get done with everything else.

Kind of an odd mix, my husband, a friend, and my mom all on the same ship We are in the process of finalizing things so I'll give more info when I know for sure who is coming.

Hubby, friend, and I will be quite interested in the night clubs/senor frogs, so if anyone is looking for a fun lady to hang out with, my mom would love to meet some of you!

Thanks! Yes assure them it really isn't that bad and actually this particular sailing is late enough in the summer that some schools are already back in session. I really dislike large numbers of kids(MK stresses me out just thinking about it) but I have never had an issue on DCL.

So some more info now that we have things finalized:

It's been a rough year health wise for my mom. Last October she had a brain aneurysm burst. She made it A) to the hospital and B) Had no side effects or loss of functions after the whole ordeal. She is statistically in the top 10% of people who have brain aneurysms. In addition, they found a brain tumor when she had the aneurysm. She just had the brain tumor removed in June, again with no loss of function and she is recovering fairly well.

As for me, I got married to DH May 11th, 2012 in NYC. We have a big grand wedding cruise planned for Aug 2013, but I found out this week I might get laid off at the end of the year. So, we're taking the impromptu trip on a GREAT deal just in case the big grand wedding cruise has to be cancelled.

My dad is leaving in August to teach in Guam for the military so this will help my mom get her mind off things.

So enough of that, I can't wait to see the look on DH and DM's faces when they see the Dream and then when they walk onto it and see the beautiful detail all over the ship, then surround themselves in Disney service. It will be a fun time indeed and 2 stops at CC makes it even better!

Are there any official meetups planned?
