Sorry to hear that. Its been a tough one for me too..... Lots of work to do before the trip. I got a big piece of it dome this week, so thats a load off my mind for sure.

Almost down to 1 month! Seems unreal given the amount of time we've been waiting for it. My wifes b-day is the day we return, so I'm having our room decorated. I'll arrange a cake for one of the nights as well.

Hello all,
We are booked on this cruise!!!!!
We just decided that we needed to do something to celebrate our 38th Anniversary, so we thought why not a Disney Cruise!!!

See you real soon,

Christie and Ken

One of our cruise members has been diagnosed with cancer in the last week.... its been a stressful time for us but hopefully all will be well. The treatment schedule will be starting soon (we find out this week exactly what is happening with treatment) but I am hoping that we can still do the cruise around the radiation treatments... We could use a little magic in our lives right now.pixiedust:

So sorry, sending Pixie Dust and well wishes, praying for a you and your family.
I have had issue before with cancer,
all you can do is take one day at the time...
You might be able to have a treatment in Fl. before or after. Your doctor might be able to work it out for you. My mom was having treatments and her doctor was able for her not to miss any treatment while we were in Texas
Radiation is not that bad, I had it for 6 weeks 3 times a week. It will be over before you know.
You will enjoy the cruise a little break.

Once you hit the double digits, time just seems to fly by! ;) I cannot believe that we leave Austria in less than 4 weeks. And I am so looking forward to this cruise and meeting you all!

Thanks for the prayers and pixie dust!! I will just keep busy with planning, that helps take the edge off :lmao:.

Just jumping in...been reading this thread for the last couple days. Not to mention being a lurker for a long time over at the Wedding Boards.

But I finally have a reason to actually post..we just booked this cruise a couple days ago (talk about spontaneous!). The timing with our work schedules just worked so perfectly we couldn't pass it up!

About us:
It is just me and the hubby living in Florida nice and close to WDW. Actually, on the Clermont/Davenport border. DH is originally from Florida and I'm a transplanted NY'er, here for almost 12 years now. Originally, a Staten Islander and was just up there for July 4th. It amazes me how much has changed in the years since I've moved!
We got married last year at the Boardwalk and really had no plans to go away for our first anniversary but then we stumbled on this cruise that leaves on our actual anniversary. I've been on both the Wonder and Magic but it was so many years ago that I feel like such a DCL newbie! DH has only been on one cruise and that was for our honeymoon last year on the Carnival Legend. I was pretty worried about him since he tends to get some terrible motion sickness but in the end he was fine is now as addicted to cruising as I was after my first cruise! Granted, he slept A LOT on that cruise but at least he didn't get sick :rotfl:

We're booked in a verandah room but that's as much as we know right now. We don't even care where we are staying we are just so excited! Looking forward to getting know everyone :goodvibes

Hi All!

I just read all of your posts starting back in 2010 and boy am I excited!
My husband, Bob and I (Jill) booked this cruise last Friday. We will be travelling all the way from Kissimmee, Fl. This is my 20th Disney cruise but the first on either of the new ships. I am very anxious to see the new features on the Dream. I booked Palo for dinner and brunch but am still undecided about the brunch.
I look forward to meeting everyone. That is one of the best parts about cruising!

We're Staten Islander's... Well... I'm a transplanted Staten Islander... and the wife is originally from Brooklyn (big surprise there). We live in Great Kills. We'll be traveling with a whole mess of Long Island folks, plus the DW's sisters / families (Also Great Kills). I'm sure you could pick us out of a crowd by accent alone... :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

WOW how exciting to have a few new people join our cruise:cool1::cool1:
I am hoping you were able to take advantage of the AMAZING Florida resident rates. I was really dissappointed with DCL this past weekend. When I saw that the FL rates were out my TA contacted DCL, the only way they would adjust my rate would be if we gave up the Handicap room which we need for our DD and her wheelchair. We tried cruising once before and just transfering her out of her chair but she was miserible to go back to the room. Her chair is her security blanket and once she is in it she DOES NOT want to come out of it!! :(

Welcome aboard and happy anniversary!

Whenever I visit home, I always say how distinct the SI accent is! I have (thankfully?) lost most of my accent now. But I occasionally slip when I'm tawlking :rotfl: I know the Great Kills area pretty well since most of my HS friends lived there. I lived in the Rossville/Woodrow area and that's where my parents still live. My brother and his family are down in Tottenville for another month or so...then they make the progression into Jersey. That's how it works right? Brooklyn --> Staten Island --> Jersey!

Thanks to all for the warm welcome. Gets me even more excited!! :jumping1:

Welcome and Happy Anniversary! :flower3:

How nice to have another family join our cruise. You are going to love the new ships. The DREAM is everything her name promises ..... a DREAM. :lmao:
I am sure you are going to enjoy your veranda stateroom - nothing better than sitting outside with an adult beverage in hand and enjoying a sunset.

Wow! 20 cruises!! This will be number 9 for us, but then we only started in 2009. ;)
The new ships are so similar to the classic ones, but then so different. But the service is as wonderful as on the classic ships. :goodvibes
Palo is wonderful for both dinner and brunch and have you thought about giving Remy a try? We went to Remy in February and had a wonderful meal there. :thumbsup2

I'm actually going the wrong way... I grew up in CT and Jersey... and ended up in Staten Island after I met my wife. I work in Midtown Manhattan, so it's generally the worst commute that you could ever impose on yourself.... LOL

I break out the Jersey / SI accent from time to time... but I don't really have a genuine Staten -EUYEland accent... Now my wife and her family on the other hand... that's another story. Fughedaboutit!

I think I will keep both reservations since one is not costing us anything. Remy might be a little rich for our blood but we have done Palo several times on the other ships and always had a wonderful meal!

:woohoo: Palo is such a nice restaurant, and since one of your visits is on Disney, it is an even sweeter deal. :lmao:
