August 24th 2012 Cruise to the Bahamas!!!!

I guess we should be easy to spot too not many Austrian (German speaking DVC members) around I guess.

Well... I was reminded of my German heritage when we stumbled into the Hofbrau Bierhaus on 3rd Ave and 45th Street a week or so ago during the Germany vs. Greece soccer game (futball match, I suppose). There were an awful lot of guys that looked JUST LIKE ME...

Thanks for the replies re opening verandah doors for connecting cabins. I was pretty certain that could be the case but just looking for reassurance. Family is getting excited about the cruise. First time cruise for DD and Grandson. Our first time on Disney, frequent cruisers on Celebrity.

We are so hooked on DCL and haven't tried any others. Before our first cruise we were sure it would be a once in a lifetime experience and here we are with cruises no 8 and 9 in just 4 summers.

Same here. First Disney cruise. We've sailed with most major lines now.... With the exception of Princess and Cunard. So fat for "adult time" the scale tips to Celebrity.... Kid time... Have to say RCCL. I'm hoping DCL bridges the gap.

Ok, so I posted accidentally on the Fantasy thread earlier Been a while since I've posted and got so caught up in the excitement I didn't realize it was the wrong ship thread

Sooo.... now that I am on the RIGHT thread....

Hey everyone! DH and I, and our kiddos (DD 14 and DS 12) will be cruising the Dream again, this time celebrating our 1st Anniversary

We were married on the Dream last year, during Hurricane Irene, so the trip didn't go exactly as we had envisioned No stop at Castaway Cay since the ship could not dock and the Bahamas was pretty much a big, wet, windswept mess.

Now that we don't have all the wedding details to worry about, we are looking forward to a Honeymoon "re-do" full of relaxation and pampering. We were able to book a Family Cabana for day 1 at CC, and a Couples Massage for Day 2 at CC on Serenity Bay. We also booked Palo for our actual anniversary dinner. I am really hoping and crossing my fingers that we have better luck this time around

As luck would have it, friends that were on our cruise last year will also be cruising this time too! I'm really looking forward to having more time to catch up with dizneeat!!!

It's getting unbearable now - I sooo want to be on VK and not sitting at my desk getting other people's out-of-office messages

Congratulations on scoring a Cabana! We have one too, but ours is at Serenity Bay. And I had to as we it looks like we will be stalking you this summer as if I recall correctly we will have a Palo reservation on your anniversary date too! (We won't disturb you, though .... )

I am already on vacation, but Tom and I are with you all the way counting down to this vacation with you!

It's all good... Not trying to stir anything up... just caused a little panic on our end .... we got moved around a little bit... so I was concerned that they might have moved us again.

That's so weird about my friend's room. I'm just going off of a confirmation sheet that was given to me when I booked their room on my Feb 2011 cruise. It says 7674, Cat 8C. Maybe they were moved since I booked it. I'll chek with them.

Do we have a formal night on this cruise or is it just a semi formal night?

We originally were booked on Deck 5 ...

Then one day we were magically moved up to deck 7...

There's 5 category 8C rooms starting from 7670 to 7678.... I've got 7670 and 7672, and our friends are listed in 7674 (And two more families in 7676 and 7678).

God I hope they didn't screw it up.

I just checked with a recent navigator which I found online - there is only a semi formal night!

Bummer though because I picked out their room myself so that they would be just one deck above us and now they are 3. Oh well. I might try for an upgrade when we get to port anyway. I booked by inside room for the virtual porthole but I have read so many disappointing reviews regarding the virtual portholes. I'm thinking I just may want a balcony now. Then again, grandma and grandpa are down the hall with a balcony and it ould be easy to send the kids to their room for some peace and quiet!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, so that you will be able to get an upgrade at the port.
We have never stayed inside, so I cannot comment on the magical portholes, but I think they might be fun.
Just let us know where you will be should you change your stateroom.
