August 24, 2014 Dream DVC Member Cruise

Just booked a Cat 4B deck 8 midship. This cruise just happens to fall the week of our 42nd anniversary so it will be a present to us. Never been on a Members cruise before since we just bought DVC in August of 2012.

We were in a Cat4 for our 1st cruise, but have been doing Cat5 for the last 4. We will be in a Cat5 again on our Thanksgiving 2013 cruise on the Fantasy. We are Gold CC since our cruise in April 2013.

Can't wait to see what everything is all about on a Members cruise. And can't wait to meet everyone.:goodvibes

When I originally booked, I was told I would be able to see it on the dvc member website under my membership number. I was concerned since it never showed up and called back. They said that since I did not book with points it would not be in my account. So, I think if you used points it will shop up under your account online, if you paid cash, it will not.

OK...thanks.

Hi! We just booked too! It will be my and DH's 4th Member Cruise, DGD9's 2nd one, and DS and DDIL's 1st one. We were on the January 2012 most recently, with DGD. She just loved it, and now my son and his wife want to go as well. Bobbiwoz, I remember you from the January 2012 cruise. Is anyone else here from that one as well?

Really looking forward to it, and chatting with you all here.

Hello everyone!
We are booked too :woohoo:. Our second disney cruise and first MC. Last august we were able to totally surprise the boys (9 and 7) with the cruise and we are hoping to do the same again.
The boys loved the kids clubs and all their different activities, the last night of the cruise they didn't want to leave.
We also participated on a small Fe group, i believe that at the end after people decided not to participate anymore each list (we had two) ended up with about 9 families/cabins.
We didn't separated by "age group" and it worked fine. We all had a blast, it was grate fun to come back to our room or open the door in the morning and find all those gifts.
We would love to participate on it again if the list stays small, cause it is hard to carry an extra bag with gifts and travel back home. So, count us in for the Dis Fe.
We are doing the second dinner and we are on deck 8 - 5B.
Happy planing and can't wait to see everyone in 9 months, 2 weeks……:wave2:

The list max will be 12 rooms to give to. Let me know if you want to be on the dis only or the FB/dis combined FE list and your room number and if you want to give the children's names. I will update list on post #1 here and on FB. I will add you to the family list. Thanks!

Hi.
We are just doing the FE dis only (not a Facebook kind of person :)), unless there is a way i can find out the rooms on the FB list i don't mind combining it.
The kids are Lukas (10) and Victor (7)
husband Vlad and myself Andreia
Are room number is 8060

Thanks for putting this list together!

No sign ups yet, but here are the people who have expressed an interest in the Candy Exchange. At some point, sign ups will be official, and I'll be getting the stateroom numbers from everyone and sending out a list to participants.

The idea is to use the Fish Extenders and put some local candy from your area in the FE's of the Candy Exchange participants. If there is a HUGE interest, I will divide the group into smaller groups, say around 10. I have participated in 2 CEs so far, one as organizer. I think it was fun to taste different candies, some from different countries.

I am In, I am In!!!:thumbsup2 Okay, after my hubby and I stare at the price tag long enough, and we finally decided to do our 1st membership cruise! :coffee:

I booked yesterday and lowest we can get is a Cat. 4C, this will be our third DC and we can't wait!! We will have an eight yr old princess with us and it should be so much fun! We will be interested in candy swap and Fish Extender too as I miss the chance on the last cruise. We are on main dining. Anyone with 8 yr olds?

Please let me know what other info I need to give. See ya on FB!

Welcome!

In February or so, I'll be collecting stateroom numbers for the CE.

19 T's and 20 V's and one of these Concierge categories is all sold out! Don't know who you lucky people are, but it looks as if we're going to sail with a full ship!

I'm only guessing, but it would seem that by moving the cruise into the summer DVC is able to attract more first-timers, and many people with children. I wonder if that will change the shape of the activities on board as well?

I need room #, and names and which FE you want to join....I assume family FE list :)

For us, we have kids going into 12th and 9th next year...we are doing the Southern in October, and pulling them out for a week. September would not have been an option for us....so here we are!!! So excited!!

What are the T's and the V's?

So, DH keep poundering... what special gifts do people receive on the membership cruise? Also, as I read on some posts about membership cruise, it seem it was more catered to adults before, should I be worried? I would assume that DCL would have the passenger's list and know the makeup their guests and plan accordingly. So excited....

Off to think about all the wonderful ideas for FEs...

ScrappyGracie: Cruise cabin 7144, Grace, Michael and Briana (8/F)
We would like to do both family FE, and Adult FE. BTW, for family FE, do we give for each room or each members of the family?

I think that is up to each individual person. On our last cruise, it seemed as though if there was a "cabin gift" it was for the adults, and everyone still did something for the kids, (or people gave gifts to everyone), and it worked out nice! I will add you to both lists.

My only "rule" is that if you sign up to get a gift, that you give a gift. I've seen where not everyone who signs up shows up or gives gifts :(
