August 22nd 2009 Western Carribbean Anyone?

I need to get my birth certificate and my old passport from my parents' house. Fingers crossed that I can get the application in painlessly at the post office next week. (The State department says I can do it there...)

As long as you can find the old passport, I'm pretty sure you can do it by mail if you want. You just have to include an updated passport photo w/ your application. That is what DW Lisa did - which was great for her b/c she has a tough time getting away from work for these types of errands.

Wayne-
Is that the booklet with the shore excursions, tips, etc?

If so, we got ours a few weeks agp from our TA.

Unfortunately, since I was only 15 when I applied for the last one, I have to do it in person again. Boooo :P

Happy Holidays to all! Whether you are celebrating Easter, observing Passover, or just enjoying the Spring, hope you are all having a wonderful day.

I just finished making the desserts for tonight (fruit pizza and chocolate matzah, yum), and sat down for a moment of relaxation before heading out for dinner at Grammy's and Pop Pop's. I can't believe spring break is over, and I have to come home tonight and check backpacks, pack lunches and lay out school clothes. It has been a long school year, and it's not only the kids who are looking forward to summer. Of course, what was I thinking booking the last week of summer vacaction for the cruise. Now I'm going to wish my summer away!

Bummer - Looks like Lisa just missed the cut-off. Hers was from when she was 16 or 17.

Yeah....when you're 15 or younger it's only good for 5 years and applying by mail isn't possible. I just got home from mom's with all my old documents...time to fill out the application and make an appointment at the post office!

wayne, we got ours today too. I thought they would have cabin numbers but the lady said it won't be until 2 to 3 weeks before. Will you still be able to have the fish extenders in time?

We are in a gty., too. So, we won't get our cabin # until 30 days out.

After much thought and research, we are getting a puppy. She was born on March 28. She is an mini Austrialian Shepard. She is expected to be about 15 inches at shoulder and about 35 lbs. The kids have decided to name her Boomerang. Boo for short.

We get to pick her up the first week of May. The kids are so excited. I reminded them that they have to give our old dog, Spot(she 10yrs old) attention, too. They can't wait to take her for walks. Spot has a mind of her own and will sit down on them and she won't budge.

She will be trained to be a therapy dog.

You are so lucky - we want a dog sooooo bad. But we live in an apartment & we are NEVER home (long hours at work/school) - getting a dog right now would be the meanest thing that we could do to a dog

Southwest has finally posted its rates for late August.

Don't know what the hold up was, but I know some of us have been waiting.

If I were gone all day, we would not be getting a puppy either. They are a lot of work. OUr dog is 10yr. and has mellowed out in her old age. We are hoping that she will show the puppy the ropes.

Do yourself a favor and shop around before buying the tickets. People I hear from who love SWA claim really low prices are a big reason. But I found nonstop flights from Seattle to Orlando on the dates I will travel, as well as a few other airline routings, considerably cheaper than Southwest - even when you add in $15 or $25 for checked luggage and $5 per person for in flight meals.

I may not have shopped around enough, but I found SWA's rates from Philly to Orlando to be pretty good for nonstop flights between Philly and Orlando. We booked our tickets last night :)

Thanks, airfares a weird thing. The cheapest flights from Philly to Orlando and back was Airtran, but they were all connecting flights, and they weren't even decent connections (who wants to spend 3 hrs in Atlanta's airport?).

We are flying down on Friday, and we are fairly flexible as to when we fly that day (although we prefer early, just in case of cancelled flights/delays), on the day we disembark :sad1: we want to be back as early as we reasonably can, as DH has to be back at work on Sunday, which means he leaves the house at 3:45 AM .:scared1: USAir and SWA both had good choices for us, but with the baggage charges ('cause there ain't no way we won't be checking multiple bags), SWA came out the best option.
