August 22nd 2009 Western Carribbean Anyone?

I am still up for the FE although my room number has changed. We are now in #7508 which I am very happy about.

Every time I see somebody post a room number or room change, I anxiously log in to the DCL website - but so far I am stuck without a room number. I have to admit I really don't like not knowing!

At least I've had good luck with my flights. My last flight home, from Atlanta to Seattle, was changed to one of Delta's 757s with the international business class seating. We have first seating dinner, so the last morning we'll be up for a 6:45 breakfast then we don't get back to Seattle until 9 PM (midnight eastern time) then we need to get bags and drive two hours home. So I am looking forward to a nice seat for sleeping on the flight home! I really hope the schedule doesn't get changed again!

Hi Shelley

Dismeet from 2:30pm in Promenade Lounge 22nd August.

FE, I think we are upto approx 17 families with about 40 kids.

Thinks thats the main info.

Kewl! Looking forward to meeting everyone.

As I count the FE list there are 16 families and 26 kids total. Does that sound right or am I missing something?

I took the figures from Marias last count she posted.
I get 16 families and 29 kids here but there is 1 more family not on the list, they have asked not to be list as I believe its a surprise cruise, Maria has the numbers from this family not me, so not sure of exact numbers.

Erik and I celebrated our 14th anniversary in April. (We started dating in High school. We have been together for 19 yrs.) He choose the date. April 1st.

ANy one have anything special planned for the 4th?

One for Matt's friend from scouts -dad is a clown.
They called this afternoon and asked if Matt wanted to be in the BIG parade tommorrow.(It lasts about 3hours). He is riding in the clown car.

We are going to my sis's for a BBQ.

I need to pack Marina for camp. She is leaving for a week at Girl Scout camp on Sunday.

Maza- What a small world. You didn't happen to honeymoon in Jamicia?

Still no cabin assignment. Don't feel bad Trix. You are no the only one waiting.

We got a new puppy a few weeks ago (female yellow lab) so the big goal is to comfortably acclimate her to the noise of fireworks.

Of course the important part is some nice juicy beef for the grill! I don't think I could survive as a vegetarian!

Congrats on your new puppy. What did you name her?

Fireworks do not seem to bother our puppy. Now our older dog is terrified. Once she hears a firecracker is is in the basement until the next morning.
(She was suppose to be a hunting dog, but is gun shy.)

Hi Everyone - this is my official 1st post... DH (gonzalj1) has been obsessed with this thread since we first booked, but now I'm officially excited and in planning mode. We just finalized our FE gifts...

Congrats to the other anniversary couples... DH and I will be celebrating our 14th wedding anniversary on 8/26...

Looking forward to meeting everyone...

We're finally making the decision to go ahead and make this extended vacation -- I'm so excited. This will be our third cruise, and my youngest son keeps trying to not-so-gently nudge me into "going on the boat" this year. He actually remembers his last visit, and has his own special memories ....

Happy anniversary to those celebrating them! We are celebrating ours a month early since we now have to worry about school calendars!

See everyone in 49 days! I can't believe it ... we haven't told the kids yet ... waiting for them to figure it out when they see the big boat.

Question for those with kids? Did you bring a stroller on the boat? Was it needed? I have a one year old. Advice appreciated -- just didn't affect us the past cruises :)

Good luck with the puppy. Our puppy is now 9 and is terrified of any loud noise. It's a little strange to see a 40 pound lab run whenever there's a big bang outside. We love her thou...

Welcome to the group, agonzales and skelley!

:laughing:You think I had a choice in the naming? Nope!
Fortunately I was able to at least influence a short list, from which the name Belle was chosen. I think I would have preferred Jasmine or Ariel.

Yesterday we took Belle to an open air mall and to buy some fireworks. She wasn't bothered by the noise of the fireworks at all, but the crowds of people where overwhelming to her. I am sure that as we continue to socialize her, she'll get used to large groups of people.

John - the idea of a lab afraid of loud noises is certainly unusual. Most of the lab owners I know have dogs that get excited over the sound of a shotgun. I am hoping my girl likes flushing pheasant when she's a bit older.

Hi Anita, welcome. We have everything for FE bought now, just waiting for some bags to be delivered to put them in, should be here Monday. Also expecting out travel docs from Disney early next week for hotel, DDP and 21 day tickets. Cruise Docs might not make it to us before we leave on 6th Aug, depends how quick the mail is from US to UK.
Added a link to your profile on my website.

Been making lots of door decorations last few weeks, thought we had done but Karen has found some more she likes so will do them next weekend.
Probably have too many so might have to rotate some.
DMIL been making our Fish Extender this weekend, some patches for it have arrived from US but just ordered some more today, they usually take about 5 days to get to UK.

Heres pics, stuck them all on fridge today.

Ski-and-Sea, my family would love to stop by and see the suite. It would make my day! Keep us posted. I'll bring my sleeping bag. :lmao:

Wayne,

You're right, that's going to be a tough door to miss no matter how many drinks of the day you have.

skelly - I tried to surprise my kids. For some reason, I just couldn't keep it in...Had to tell them.

We did get to surprise them once with a trip tp DW with DGM and DGF. We woke my kids up at 4AM to leave for the airport. My DD wouldn't get up at first then I said "We have to leave for DisneyWorld" I never saw her move so fast!

The looks on your kids faces will be so worth it!

Has anyone made any concrete decisions yet???

We are leaning towards-
Key West- maybe the Butterfly Conservatory and then walk around a bit and then back to the ship
Grand Cayman- either Nativeway or Captain Marvins snorkeling trip
Cozumel- a day at Paradise Beach

Any other ideas for us??????? (dd is 10 ds is 11)
