August 2016 discounts?

If we can work out the complicated logistics, we are hoping to vacation with our 2 adult children sometime in August! Does anyone know if and when discounts for that time might be made available and where we could see them? Also, the last time we went to wdw, magic bands were not available. If we stay on wdw property will we necessarily be getting/using them? Thanks!

Here's the current package discount which runs through mid-August.

You will pay rack rate for your room(s) and if your adult children are staying in the same room as you, there will be an "extra adult" nightly fee for each of them.

If you stay onsite, you will each get a MB. You can opt to use an RFID card instead if you don't like MBs.

We're thinking of going with the delux dining plan and I'm trying to figure out if it would be cheaper to get a discounted room rate and then add on the dining and tickets onto that. Is it possible to purchase the dining plan separately or do you have to get it as part of a package?

You're going to have to wait for any room-only discounts. Once those come out, you would be able to compare prices with the *free* dining offer if it is still available. Any room-only discount can be made into a package by adding tickets and dining plan (if desired).

The room rates are some of the best of the year, and there will likely be a good room discount.
