My rate is down again today Intermediate with Budget $126 for 7 days 8/26-9/2. I didn't expect it to go down this much. BCD code U072700 and coupon code MUWZ107. Linda

Does Budget allow you to pick a car of your choice or do they give you one? I just used the codes above and the price is MUCH cheaper than Dollar by at least 25 bucks, and for a bigger car

I just tried these codes at Budget and got very excited by what I thought was a great deal - until I got to the final page to find out that great deal did not include taxes and fees, so it was actually $95 more than I thought, and more than the other options for me.

Pretty much every other car rental site I had been on shows the full price; I don't much like how budget doesn't give you the full price until you've gone through all the other steps.

I just checked Costco again. Alamo is down for me. It's still $25 above the price I found with Dollar yesterday, but it includes an extra driver for free.

I have never used carrentalsavers before, I just checked rates for our 8/24-9/6 trip MCO-TPA...I have what I think is a pretty good rate of $269 including taxes. However, when going to book the reservation I am getting "We're sorry, but the price breakdown is not available at this time. Your TotalPrice is guaranteed." Should I be concerned at all?

Mine said this too. I understood it to mean that they just can't tell you which part of that price is taxes, etc.....

We used Budget once (and only once.....very poor experience) in December 2012. You did not get a choice of vehicle. Once was assigned to you at the time of pick up. I can't be 100% certain, but I don't think that has changed since then.

Alamo and National both allow you to select your vehicle from the available cars within the class you reserved.

In theory, I think they supposedly assign you a car. In reality, last summer, the guy at the counter told me to just find one that I wanted in the garage. So that doesn't really answer your question, but does provide one experience.

Just got the cheapest rate yet!! Aug. 16th - 25th w/ Budget in a compact for $182.13. I used the $25 off coupon MUWZ084 and the Southwest BCD code U072700. This was the same rate as carrentalsavers.com, but this way I was able to add my Fastbreak card.

My Budget rental just went down again. 8/15 - 8/24 for an intermediate car. Had a reservation for $195.66 and just got it down to $186.29. Not a significant drop, but $9 is $9!

Minivans are not budging at all!

I went onto Hotwire and they have a minivan for $320 for 10 days. Is it worth the gamble? I'm freaked out to try it. I have a National rental with KLM code for $420. Saving $100 would be nice. Opinions??

It also depends if you are looking to get a free additional driver with Hotwire you don't know which company you are booking and could pay additional to add on another driver if that's not a concern it could work for you. Linda

My Alamo full size rental (with Alamo Insiders) for Aug 23 - Sept 1 took a nice dip yesterday. Once in the morning and again in the evening. I'm down almost $60 from my lowest rate from a couple of months ago. So far it's holding steady this morning.

I'm down to $279 for 8 days w/booster seat. I'm now well within the "acceptable" range for me. Still hoping to shave another $20 - $30 off of that though. I will continue to check daily.
