august 2013 codes for rental cars?

It's getting close. We are renting from 8/7-8/21. We have ressies with national using klm code.

Wasn't there a Mastercard code with alamo someone mentioned? I can't seem to find it.

I will thanks! Yeah, it's definitely the date and not the pick up and drop off times as I plugged in your dates and got the lower rate. Here's hoping 19 days out it will come thru...only problem is that tomorrow we are having a huge adoption party with about 90 people expected..I will need to sneak away to check the rates

question to all you car rental experts... (I have only rented for one day at time and have only done this twice ).... but now I am looking at a 1-2 week rental and my question is regarding pick up time ...

Are you better off being a bit earlier for your pickup time or a bit later for pickup time.
I am having a hard time to be accurate with pick up time for now as depending on flight and crowds to pick up luggage ,etc,, etc,,,,.

I usually take the flights arrival time and add 45 minutes. Then I round to the closest hour/half hour from there for my pick up time. My flight is due in at 10:10pm so I put an 11pm pickup. For the return, I put 2 hours prior to departure time rounded. My departure is 7:10 so put 5 pm. I have never had a problem with them honoring my reservation within a few hours either way of my times. Travel is very unpredictabe obviously.

How wonderful for you as well!! Thank you neighbor! We welcomed our latest addition into our home at 4 months old and adoption was final a few days before he turned 3.

So I had a full size rental from Dollar for $157.95 from 8/5-8/13 from MCO, but had been trying for something from the car care center and couldn't get anything at all close to that. Tried Alamo again this morning, and was able to get 8/5 p/u at MCO to 8/12 drop off at car care center for $185.82. I know it's a day shorter, but it's worth it to me to not have to deal with it the morning of our departure. We can all take ME back to the airport in the morning of 8/13.

Thanks to all the frequent posters here for all the tips. I booked a standard instead of a full size and will check in on line to avoid having to wait at the counter. I used the AD2338FDF $30 off visa coupon, and the 7015504 code.

I'm still going to keep trying to get a car care center pickup as well, but am happy with this latest booking.

Both Alamo and Enterprise went down today for me....National is still sky high.

I am at $315 for Standard with Alamo and $300 with Enterprise./ Neither beats my Dollar rate of $245 but they seem to be moving. I will be spending a bunch of time in the next several dys to see if they rates continue down. My dates are 8/15 (11:30 am) - 8/27 (4:30 pm)

I found it a few pages back... It was a Visa code. I'm not sure of the difference between the Visa code and the $30 off

the Visa code (7numbers) is a rate code. The 30.00 off is a coupon code for a 30.00 discount. They are combineable ( I know this not a real word, but, it works).

a bit later than the planes arrival time. The clock starts ticking when you leave the garage and ends when you return.

Is this true for an electronic coupon $-off coupon?

I have this coupon on my reservation and there's a check-in button next to my "Upcoming Reservation." I haven't gone all the way through the on-line check-in process so I don't know if it may reject me at the end.....

I have a question about the Alamo insiders. I checked in and entered all the info including my info as a free second driver. When I got to the end, my total went up because now they are showing an additional driver fee. It said it was free. Will I be charged for that? I don't really need to have it, but just figured since it was free I would just add it just in case.

Thinking I will go with Alamo if nothing else moves, I am 20 days out from my trip and this is the first downward trend I have seen in Alamo (National is still at $750)

Interesting to note if I put in my Rapid Rewards with SouthWest airlines in they charge me $7.50?(just checking out the bypass the counter thing.)

National is still high for me as well just checking in with the Emerald Club and an entertainment book coupon code. I do have two resizes using the klm code.

I was able to get a good rate (not great) with alamo for two weeks at $284 all in but I'm hoping it will come down more.

This morning Alamo...Insiders with Visa coupon (not the code) i am down to standard at $240 inclusive...so finally beating my Dollar rate of $245.

My Alamo rates are down as well this morning. I finally cancelled my Dollar reservation because the Alamo rate (which includes a second driver because I'm an Insider) is cheaper than the Dollar rate!

I went from $439 a week or so ago to $278 today for my 2 week rental.

It pays to keep checking (as annoying and time consuming as it is )

I am hoping to get help here.... I want to use Alamo car rental to drive to
universal resorts.. but where is the closest and most convenient place to drop off once i get to universal studios, ??
i called alamo and csr said i had to call the alamo locations themselves and ask as they could not give me an answer , does anyone know ?
