august 2013 codes for rental cars?

I was able to check in online with the visa coupon, they sent me an email suggesting I check in online, and it let me, and told me to proceed to the garage directly. Will I have a problem? It has the same rate on my check in confirmation for the garage attendant to scan, that my original rental confirmation has.

Sounds like you are good to go. How long in advance did you get the email to check in online? I have a reservation with them in 10 days.

Hmmm, it was sometime last week, and I pick up my car tonight. I didn't click on the email though, I went online to cancel my old reservation and confirm the current one, and it prompted me there also.

If you have an additional driver at Alamo, it looks like you need to go to the counter and can't use the kiosk or online? There doesn't appear to be anywhere to add it on the reservation.

Probably because the VISA coupon is an electronic coupon (no coupon needs to be presented) is why you can use the online check in.

Supposedly you can do it at the kiosk, it will show the charge on the left but not on the right is what I have been told.

I must say, we have never been able to add it at the kiosk, but I never went all the way through so maybe it would have worked. We tried to add it at the garage on the way out, and the attendant said it would be a charge. I knew that was wrong, but didn't feel like wasting anymore time (and didn't want to waste time inside either at the counter) so we just didn't do it. Not a huge deal to me since my husband had to do all the driving then

My husband is an insider, and when I did the online check in it gave me the option to add another driver for free, so I added myself. I wasn't even aware that was an option, till it asked me if I wanted to do so.

Well, my rental is down again this afternoon.....by a whopping $1.14 .

And just to show how pathetic I am, I actually rebooked at the "lower rate", and cancelled my other reservation. 'Cause hey, its $1.14. That's probably at least $1.20 when you factor in the exchange rate and the conversion fee . And I was just so dang excited it did anything at all, because its been boring as heck waiting (and watching) these last few days with no movement at all.

That's great, thanks, I will try it. I usually do all the driving but it is nice to have the option of DH on there just in case.

Lucky you - I'd rebook for $1.14 too. Mine is up by $60.00! I'm glad I booked when I did.

Mine continues to be high also. I guess I did well by booking when I did. It will be 3 weeks to start of my vacation tomorrow, so I'll definitely keep checking (at least daily). My Alamo rate for standard/full size is pretty good ($278 for 15 days + 2 hours), but the minivan rate is too high ($683). Would love to see it come WAY down!

I started looking into car rentals 2 months prior to my trip date and the best I found was $365. Just looked again with only 10 days left and got my 2-week rental for $225. WooHoo!

Used the Visa Code everyone's been talking about on the Alamo site for $30 off.

The kiosks at MCO are right there at the Alamo rental area. It's sort of like using an ATM machine...easy. It's step by step and you'll need drivers license(s), credit card and the confirmation sheet with the bar code, although I'm sure if you don't have the bar code available, you can still look up your reservation.

If you have any problems, there is usually an employee milling around to help. I felt a little guilty the last time used the kiosk because there were literally 45 people in line and I just strolled right up to the available kiosk and was done in 5-7 minutes.

Heads up - my Alamo is back down early this AM to the lowest I've found yet for last 2 weeks of Aug - 219.95 for 12 days standard. Alamo insiders & Visa $30 discounts.

I'm 3 weeks out, but the Alamo price is lower today than it has been recently. Still hasn't reached what I have booked, yet, but at least there's finally some movement in the right direction!

Are you with Alamo? If you get a chance, post back what is available to choose from. We pick up next Friday late as well and usually get very lucky when we pick up at that time(10 trip streak including spring break this year) with upgrades to vans/suvs. Hopefully the streak continues!

Landed at 11.30 was in a car by 12. Not a lot to choose from. 10 cars maybe, impalas sonatas and altimas. Our 2 27 inch bags would not fit in the sonata so we grabbed an impala.
They required a credit card in the name of the primary driver. National is faster to get you out the door.
Funny though we asked where we the aisle was to get our standard size and he directed us to mid size. Yeah we then found the full size aisle.
