August 2012

We are!!! August 26th-September 2nd.

We are surprising the kiddos!!

Sunday: leaving on a jet plane, dinner at chef mickeys, magic kingdom
Monday: Epcot
Tuesday: hollywood studios
Wednesday: animal kingdom
Thursday: magic kingdom
Friday, Saturday, Sunday: park hopping :-)

Count me in!! We are going the 22-30 and staying at POR. Our last trip was just DH and me, this time we are bringing the kids and cannot wait to get back. :yay: We booked free dining on a bounceback last Sept!! We have all our dining plans made. Just airfare to go, which has me on the edge of my seat. Everyday I am stalking Southwest's website...:surfweb: As soon as that piece to the trip is settled, I will really be able to focus on my touring plans. ;) We are waiting to tell our two youngest DSs. They just don't appreciate a long countdown like I do!!:rotfl2:

Hi everyone! :goodvibes

We are going 8/26-31 and will be staying at the Contemporary w/ a Theme Park View - I'm so excited that I can hardly stand being around myself! :rolleyes1 We upgraded Free Dining to Deluxe - never used the dining plan before, so I am completely unaware if this will be "too much food" for us or not. We haven't been to Disney in over 10 years - our two youngest children remember nothing, as they were both under 3, so it's like a "First Visit" for them!

Our plans are as follows:

Sunday: Arrival Day! Lunch at Biergarten and dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern. We will be at MK for PM EMH.

Monday: Breakfast at GF Cafe, Lunch at Yak & Yeti, and Dinner at 50s Prime Time Cafe. We will be at AK for AM EMH, and at DHS for PM EMH.

Tuesday: Breakfast at the Wave, Lunch at Les Chefs de France, and Dinner at 'Ohana. We will be at Epcot for AM EMH.

Wednesday: Breakfast at Chef Mickey's, Lunch at GF Cafe, and Dinner at Le Cellier. We are going to see which park(s) we feel like visiting this day.

Thursday: I haven't decided on Breakfast for this day, yet, as I completely changed my previous ADRs. Lunch will be at Kona Cafe, and Dinner will be at the Crystal Palace. We will be at MK for PM EMH, for sure.

Friday: Departure Day - will be leaving early and not spending any time at the parks this day. :sad1:

My wife and I will be there with our youngest son (8), and our granddaughter (3) from 8/26 through 9/1. We will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary on the 28th. Staying at All Star Music.

All paid except for the trip down and back. Let the countdown begin!!

I'm now thinking of getting park hopper tix (we never have before, but I have an AP, and got DH park hopper with no expire option so we could use it for our May trip too). So, the above will be where we start the day, but we may end up hopping around...

Can I join you?

We just booked August 25 to September 4 at the Wilderness Lodge. It's the first time my kids (6 and 5 by then) have ever been. My husband went once as a teen.

I'm so excited!

We're coming from Ontario and staying at Pop too! But flying, not driving. We're gonna be there from Aug 22 - Sep 3, so nice long trip. I'm so hyped!

Ok, a few things have changed... AGAIN. :rolleyes1

We are still going 8/26-31, but we will now be staying at the Coronado Springs Resort in a preferred room with Free Dining.

Our plans are as follows:

Sunday: Arrival Day! Lunch at Biergarten. We will be at MK for PM EMH.

Monday: Lunch at Tusker House. We will be at AK for AM EMH, and at DHS for PM EMH.

Tuesday: Lunch at Les Chefs de France. We will be at Epcot for AM EMH.

Wednesday: Lunch at Fulton's Crabhouse. We are going to see which park(s) we feel like visiting this day, but we'll be hitting DTD for part of the day.

Thursday: Lunch at the Crystal Palace. We will be at MK for PM EMH, for sure.

Friday: Departure Day - :sad1:

I still might change some things, because we're now driving instead of flying. (Our airfare jumped from $1250 in February to almost $3500 yesterday!!! Forget that!!!) I think we may end up driving Saturday and Sunday, arriving Sunday evening - thinking about not going to a park on Sunday. It's a 24 hour drive, so we could get checked in around dinner time Sunday evening - go to the pool, and get a really good night's sleep. Then, on our last day, Friday, we could actually make that a park day - head out around 4 or so, and get in a solid 6 hours of driving or so. Who knows - I've yet to make any decision final, so why should this be any different?! :rolleyes1

HOLY FRIJOLES! It jumped that much?!?!?!

I just realized that when I priced airfare yesterday, I selected a different fare than previously - the cost has only gone up by about $200. I'm sorry about that - I feel like a total dork! HA!

I`m so excited! DS and I are heading down August 18th.

We are doing a room only night at POP then starting a package at POP with Free Dining from the 19th to 27th. We upgraded to Deluxe Dining as it will likely be my son`s last trip and he wants to focus on the food and the thrills.

I can`t wait!

Hi TEAM AUGUST:cheer2:

Our resort plan changed too:rotfl: We're now staying at POP, 3 preferred rooms. First time staying there, and Im a little nervous, but it seems to have a pretty big fan base so I'm sure that those over on the POP thread will put my mind at ease by the time we leave. Im still planning on Garden Grocer. I think it will come in handy.

Oh how I WISH The Powers That Be would open up my week for FD (we're staying the week BEFORE it starts, becasue that's just how my luck is:rotfl:)

:cheer2: Happing planning all!!:cheer2:

I want to join in! Booked today for August 23rd - September 4th today. I know we are gonna be there during the FD craze so I was a little concerned about being able to get all the reservations we wanted since we are already past the 180 day mark, but we were able to get what we were looking for so that's exciting! Shifted around my itinerary a little to make all the dining choices work, but that's no big deal.

I feel like August is so close.. yet so far away. :lmao:

I'm in, we will be at WDW Aug 19-26, between the Commando & Dis Dad Clubs so far we have 3 members going at this time ( most likely to have more by the trip:thumbsup2) we are planning a get together with some touring:cool1: we will be in touch with the 2 clubs with a combined total of over 900 members with input during the trip, like past trips I'm looking forward to a fruitful trip with maybe some challenges that will prove to be most rewarding:goodvibes

Hey there-just checking in with Team August:cheer2: I dont know where we're actually supposed to be, here or the Happy Dance thread. Where's our home??:goodvibes

Hi, August Group!

My husband, DD17, DS16, DD5 and I will be at WDW from August 6 to August 11. It's a lot of firsts for my family: first time my 5 year old will fly, first time all five of us go on vacation that's not a camping trip. We wanted to fit it in before my oldest begins college shopping in earnest.

Our ADRs are Kouzzina, Akershus, Ohana, Teppan Edo and Boma. Hoping I find a balance between planning excessively and going with the flow!
