I feel like we should make some sort of tag or something to make ourselves recognizable to each other as members of this group! I might be able to find some old lime green mickey heads but maybe we should make a design just for our group or something!! Just thinking aloud!

Welcome to this Awesome thread, Gillian!!! Everyone is soooo friendly here!!! We are at CBR from the 17th through the 28th, so maybe we'll see you there! I always have my lime green Mickey heads on my bag, so if you see me, please say hi!![]()
Ok, since I want everyone of TEAM AUGUST to say hi to us if you see us, here is a picture so you all don't really think I look like the pink princess Mickey ears.....
![]()
I am very happy you stopped over to my ptr!!! Yep, you know the saying "that which doesn't kill us makes us stronger" well, I'm a freaking cement baracade now!!
OMG!!! A freshman in high school. I just can't believe it.....after all I'm (cough) only 29 (cough, cough!!)![]()
So we're driving (22 hours, ugh) and thought we should try to get to Orlando Friday night so we can check into POR 1st thing Sat. And then go to the parks, that way we don't waste a day. We thought a cheap off-site hotel but I just had the brain wave to check out Disney prices for value resorts. All star music is almost as cheap as off-site! So DH (love him) said why don't we stay there? And maybe even for 2 nights? So our 7 night stay may turn into 9!
Has anyone does this and how hard is it to change hotels? Do we have to check completely out? Do they help with luggage?
So excited!

Ok...anyone???![]()
beachmama3 said:YAY! That is exactly what we are doing. We added three extra days with the discounted rooms and are staying at ASMu. I don't know anything about split stays, but I *think* the hotel will move luggage for you? I am thinking about packing a separate bag for those three days so it will be easier?
Very cool! I just called and it has to be a separate reservation or it will mess up the free dining. Anyone else have this problem? I booked an 8 day hopper with POR and hoped to use one day with this earlier reservation, but not sure if they will let me. Any thoughts?
The lime green mickeys from home depot are always good and free

I had to do a separate res also. I have also heard that you can pick your tickets up 3 days early. I may call and ask. It is MUCH cheaper to add a day to my POR tickets than to pay for a day separately! We were just planning on swimming, DTD, and visiting family, but if I can sneak over to MK, I would love to do that!!![]()
I just found this thread yesterday and am up to reading page 72, but figured I better post soon!we're going Aug. 25-Sept 1 at POR. I can't wait! It'll be my first time staying on site and my 3rd time to the WDW (1st was for one day during honeymoon, 2nd was 1 day during a trip with my extended family who are NOT Disney folk!) So to stay on site for an entire week?! I'm in heaven planning for it! DS6 and DD4 are almost excited as I am!
We're taking DH's parents for their 40th anniversary and DH's brother's family and sister and her husband are coming along too, so it'll be 13 of us. I'll post our ADR's shortly (after I read more of this thread).
Love it! I'll see what I can pull together too.

I'm down with wearing something that shows our Team August status.![]()

Yes, that is how its done. Its two completely separate reservations so you would need to buy pack tix and resort at both which isnt cost effective to get DP. You can supposedly pick up park tix a few days earlier at guest relations (I think) but I wasnt going to chance it. I looked into it and my BFF who is a Travel Agent checked. Look on the tickets sticky for more info about picking up early.
Instead We got YES tix (cheaper) and passed on DP but took advantage of room only.

In cases where Walt Disney World Resort Guests would like to begin using their Package Tickets prior to the day of check-in (up to three days in advance), the Guests will be directed to visit any Theme Park or DTD Guest Relations location and request Early Ticket Pick-Up. (Note this cannot be done at a water park.)
It is only valid for people with packages at a Walt Disney World owned and operated Resort. You can be staying off-property at the time you pick up the tickets. Note that if you have a package which includes Dining, although you can pick up your tickets early you cannot get access to the Dining until you have actually checked in to your Resort.
Note that since August 2011 the Call Centers have been telling Guests this cannot be done. However it is still a valid procedure and can be done with no problem at Park Guest Relations Windows.
There is a possibility that if your package and the stay prior to the package are at the same Resort that you will be able to get the tickets at the Resort and not have to go to a Park Guest Relations Office.
And the tickets issued will be valid for the entire stay; they will not receive valid tickets when they actually check-in to their resort. There is a strong possibility that the tickets you have received prior to check-in cannot be added to your KTTW on or after check-in.
GOOD MORNING TEAM "8"!!!! Icant believe all the conversation that I missed last night--I always miss everything thats COOL!
Put me on the list of the ID Tags, I wonder if they should include our DIS names?
I gotta go back now and read all the pages from last night to catch up, brb!![]()
Meanwhile I've been thinking of switching to POR...I know I know seems silly to downgrade but I just really love all the pictures I see of that place. I love animals too though so AKL seems perfect but we won't have a view so dunno. Hrmm...not going to do anything yet just thinking about it today.
