Just got YES tix for the week- it's going to just be me and my 7 year old DGD.
This is supposed to be 'the trip to end all trips' for her, I don't know if/when she'll ever get back there so...

I think my ADRs are going to be as follows:

8/25- 1900 PF Dinner
8/26 - Hollywood &Vine Breakfast
8/27 - Akershus Lunch
8/28 - Tusker House Lunch
8/29 - Crystal Palace Breakfast, Cinderella's Royal Table Dinner
8/30 - Chef Mickey Dinner
8/31 - 1900 PF Breakfast
9/1 - Ohana Breakfast

Lots of characters. I think we're going to be at POR in one of the Princess Rooms, if I can get a decent discount. Or POP!:banana::banana:

are you doing YES through a group or individual, it still says registration coming soon for August when I check individual?

I really need to get my act together so I can make ADRs soon! Right now, we've narrowed down the places we want to eat, but I have absolutely no idea how to schedule them. I guess I'd better figure it out soon, huh?! :rolleyes1

Add me in. RIght now we are scheduled for the 19th to the 24. I stillhave to book for the 16th to 19th. We are plannning the All Star Movies Family suite and then move to BLT with my sister's family (she has DVC) and they have booked a 3 bedroom with TPV:banana::banana:

We do have to do some ADR's because we have such a large group but dh and I have never worked that way so I don't know what we are going to do.

WE are getting ready to celebrate ds2's graduation from college, and dh is getting ready for his last year of teaching before he retires. There could be a couple of other things but we are still keeping our fingers crossed that things go the right way.

We will be there at the same time. What YES program are your doing? We will be doing a group program but haven't signed us up yet because I am trying to decide what on to do. We are leaning toward Ocean discoveries?

It looks like you'll be eating well:thumbsup2

ok, so we are thinking of switching, we were planning to stay offsite at Windsor Hills, now thinking maybe staying onsite at one of the values with 2 rooms.....ahhh its so hard to decide!!! any thoughts? onsite or offsite??

Well, I've never stayed offsite; so for me, it's always onsite is the way to go. Have you thought about renting DVC points instead of a value? I know for our August trip we are renting points and staying at Boardwalk Villas for 8 nights and it's only costing me right at $1400. Of course that's room only. Or, maybe you could get a Family Suite at ASMusic or AoA. We really liked our stays at ASMusic. I just love the benefits of being onsite that I can't imagine staying offsite. Good Luck with your decision!!

Individual-If you enter your dates, the tickets and classes will show up.

We're doing the Wild by Nature one, it looks interesting and I think she'll get a kick out of it.

We have done both. While it is more economical in most cases to stay offsite, I would say that if cost is not a primary concern to stay onsite. It is more convienient and it does help "keep" you in Disney mode. Either way it will be a great time, but if you can, i would vote for staying onsite at a value suite or perhaps one moderate that can hold larger families. BTW, we have also stayed at Value,Mod & Deluxe, and we had a great time at the VAlue resorts. They are very similar to moderate in most aspects.

Hi - we are also staying at a vacation home in Windsor Hills for this August's trip :goodvibes ... I've not stayed offsite since 1996 and I think it's going to be very different!
It works for us this time, as DH's family want to go to those 'other' parks in Orlando too :rolleyes1 lol, we'll be going to the outlet malls too and they are keen to eat at some places like Olive Garden, Red Lobster etc! Windsor Hills is just a few miles from WDW though so at least we won't have too long a drive back & forth to the Disney parks.

For a group of eight, it is cheaper than staying onsite.. particuarly as the alternative for them would be 5 rooms at a Disney deluxe resort for two weeks! :upsidedow We'll have to remember not to go to parks on morning Extra Magic Hour days though.. no point getting there at 9am if resort guests have been there since 8.

ADR days begin on Sunday for us... need to get planning where to eat with the family!

Hi! I've been reading around for a while, but this is my first post. I booked 10 days at WDW, just me and my 9 year old DS, Nathan. We will be going August 15-24. This will be the first trip for the both of us!

We are staying at POP:thumbsup2

Just booked our airfare today! We're going to be in FL from 8/15 to 8/24 but think we're going to US/IOA for the first two days. That'll leave us checking in at DW on the night of 8/16!!! 7 whole days at DW!!! YAY!! It's the longest trip we've ever taken and I've been waiting over 2 years since our last trip! So I'm in full planning mode but am a little out of the loop. What is this YES program that people are referring to and how do you do it? Can you get free dining with it if they decided to offer it? Is AOA a new value resort?

We haven't booked anything at Disney yet, but I would like to soon! Then the real planning can begin!!

We have offically booked! We booked 2 rooms at Pop Century for 10 nights and requested connecting rooms Fingers crossed!!!

:banana::banana::banana::banana:

Love signing into the Disney site and seeing 191 days! and Dining reservations available 02/22/2012!

Hoping for a pin that is good for our days!

My kiddos are signed up for the Synergy in Science class. It wasn't my 1st pick, but it was the only class they offered during our travel dates that my kids were the right age range for.

The basic jist of the Disney YES program is classes you can sign up your school aged child to take and then you get a discount on park tickets. Since you must purchase park tickets through the YES program, you will be unable to take advantage of Free Dining unless you purchase extra park tickets to make a package and then use those tickets on a later trip.
