My last part was autograph books but then I realized I have NO use for a book of autographs themselves.
So instead I have a mini 3 ring book with index cards for kids to collect characters autographs. Once home, I will make a photobook/digital SB with Pics of my kids with each character and the autograph they got and have more of a keepsake.
This is not mine( but it is pretty much like what I want to make

That is a really good idea! It makes it more special than just the book.

I may be a *tad* bit obsessed with OPI nail polish lately...I of course had to have the Minnie Mouse set, and just found the Pirates of the Caribbean and Muppets mini-sets on Amazon.com. Adorable. (Ordered, and also threw in the Mary Poppins and Hunchback of Notre Dame DVDs...hey- stressful day with all my boys at the dentist- needed retail therapy! lol!!)

ETA: They were all ANGELS at the dentist. However, it was expensive (even after insurance) and then my middle son bit his cheek so badly while it was numb that his face is now swollen. Stressin' me out!

I'm obsessed with nail polish lately too and I have the Minnie set. I want the Muppets one so bad!

I bought each of the boys a backpack yesterday that they will take to Disney to be signed by the characters. DS8 did it 2 years ago and loved it! All I need to do now is to go to an art store to get a metallic opaque Sharpee. Both bags are red/black, so I think I will get silver.

I have never heard of someone doing the backpack. That's a really good idea too!

Hi Everyone!

We're going August 18 to September 2nd! Yes 15 nights! I can't wait! My kids don't go back to school until after Labor Day.

We're 6 nights at Marriott's Grande Vista, then 9 nights at Sabal Palms (so we'll be super close to Disney then). I got such an awesome deal through our timeshare company, II, that I couldn't pass it up. Plus having 2 full bedrooms at Sabal Palms is great for a long trip in the heat and all (we have a one bedroom at Grande Vista but my DH won't be there yet till we move over).

If anyone is going to be at either Grande Vista or Sabal Palms with teens, let me know!

I am so Excited!!! Only 31 days to go!! So I had a little panic My schedule did not allow for a viewing of the Main Street Electrical Parade!!! And for my Sisters First visit in 22 years and my Nephews 1st visit (age 11) it is a Must Do!!! So I went back and arranged for it!! Good thing we all plan things in advance!! I was able to hop from EPCOT one night and catch Illuminations on another night!! LOL Breath!! Ok so I am debating on doing a trip report I have never done one before but with my Nephew (11) and Daughter (11) I am betting we will have some interesting Moments!! I am super excited for this trip!!

Also we are at ASMu not Mo for the list it says ASMo.

I have a question about the bleach spray shirts. What is it that you use to make the template? Cardboard, paper, other.

I used craft foam. I got the kind with adhesive back but didnt need to use the sticky part because its on their so briefly. Any thick, non- absorbent kind of paper/plastic would work I think. It was on there for less then 2 min.

We are going to do Jedi Training this time as well. Kids are excited.

I got minnie colors from OPI(I work in a salon so I love getting them at cost) and I got a blue from spiderman. I think Im going to get a french on my toes with the glittery minnie color.

Not crazy at all I have a box of the things that I want to remember ready to go! I did the Target run yesterday for our travel size items. The only bad thing about the trip coming is that our summer break will nearly be over when we return

I think I missed answering the question of the day about our we making anything for our trip? Well, I am not personally making anything, but a friend is making us shirts and a DVD to use to surprise our kids about the trip.

The shirt will have many of the Disney characters on the front and We're going to Disney on the back. As for the DVD, my friend is going to WDW the week before we go. While she is there, she will ask the characters to say something specific to our kids about looking forward to seeing you soon.

I am so excited!

After much going back and forth, we finally decided to order the photo card plus card. Its our first family trip, first time (of many, I hope) for DD4 & DS6 and we have 5 character ADR's. Someone posted in the photocard+ thread that other people can use it if they have a cell phone pic of the card. So I jumped online (like I'm ever offline! Lol) and ordered it. Whew! Now let's hope DH's family (his parents, brother &his family and sister and her DH are going too) will chip in. I think their mentality will be that since we already paid for it, why should they have to pay to use it too, but crossing my fingers I'm wrong! I should have more faith in my in-laws, right? Right? Argh...

I bet you'll love it!! I'm experimenting right now on how to organize a Photopass+ share and been chatting with some of my share members on the feasibility of it. Between the cellphone pic strategy, ensuring dates work out to pass the mastercard around, and the fact that you can add ride photos to the master card within 48 hours - I think it could work perfectly for families with the right dates.

This is a great idea. I can buy the foam alphabets! (I was debating how to manage lettering without all the hassle of cutting them out) I've been debating how I want to decorate our shirts. I found a store selling cheap colorful t-shirts and picked up shirts for about $3 each. DD and I have bright aqua blue shirts (her fave color) and I bought bright orange t-shirts for DH and DS. I was trying to find the same color & type of t-shirts for all of us...but didn't want to pay more than $5 each. It was impossible. Then I found this store and the material is the same but they have a woman's cut for me, a girl's cut for DD, and men's shirts for DH and DS so it was perfect, even though they're different colors.

We love matching Ts! I also have a set of black "Canadian" Ts and we all match. Material's a bit thick though (Olympic Ts from 1-2 yrs ago) so I think I might reserve it for an evening or maybe just for travelling in. On top of that have a set of colorful T's where we each have a different color. That would be fun to wear as well.

I will also plan our wardrobe for complementary colors - just because I like the look in photos when we are coordinated

OK - on to QOTD. I'm actually surprised I am the first one of the day on this crazy fast-moving August thread...I'll start us off.

I have autographs on the brain (rather obvious from my post above) so here goes:

Do you plan to collect autographs? If yes, what will you use?

I made straps with disney nylon wide ribbon type stuff for our O2 mister fans.

That reminds me, I have to make a few of these, too. I want something to strap DD's mister to her stroller and will probably make one for DS to either wear around his neck or at least hang from the stroller so it's not taking up valuable cup holder space Are they hard to make?

Got an email yesterday that our "documents" have arrived at the CAA office!!!



And this morning? The doorbell rang nice and early - our passports have arrived!!

And the Disney site says 32 days until we check in!!!
