This is my kind of weather!! It was only 94 today then add some humidity- great day, we headed to the beach! :beach: Tomorrow 99 and wed 102. It doesnt bother me though, I didnt have A/C in my car the last 2 summers, it was fine. We have 1 window A/C in our house, its 80 inside and feels good. I hate to be cold, I live in the wrong state. Keep trying to get to Fl so I can have this weather more months of the year and NO fall or winter:crazy2:One day Ill find a way out....

SO sort of had Mickey Mail last week. But there was a mistake and they only sent info no ME stuff so waiting on the other. Only 18 days so I am getting anxious.

This is so me. I would take hot weather and a beach year round. I don't think it would ever get old. We are on the beach almost every day all summer. (Although tomorrow and Weds may just be a float in the pool day!)

YAY for 18 days! I am jealous!

Well folks after one more change I finally paid the reservation in full today at 39 days out.:crazy2:

I was all set to stay at the Grand Floridian and my family (you can't blame me this time) really really didn't want to deal with the construction. Add in that one of the pools and Gasparillas would be closed and they were certain they wanted to change.
Guess where they all chose? Fort Wilderness Cabin. Yep.. I gave up a 65% discount at the Grand for a FW Cabin. Bet you've never heard that one before:rotfl:

Truth be told, I am quite pleased with the decision. More than enough room for the 5 of us. Separate sleeping areas, a full kitchen, QUIET AND PEACEFUL, still have the ferry to the MK, can still watch Wishes from the Beach.
It's also much more our style. I am comfortable in a nice hotel, and have stayed in several, but it just wasn't sitting well with me for a family vacation.
I know.. I'm weird.
Anyway... I changed it last week.. and I didn't tell you all because I didn't want to be teased:rotfl:

You will love the cabins. It definitely is quiet and peaceful. If they weren't so expensive we would stay there again in a heartbeat

Not weird at all! I totally understand!!! We've been to the GF several times to visit and eat, and everytime we walk out, DH says we will never stay here, just not our type.

Have a great vacation, we'll be at CBR in 35 days and can't wait!!!!

I think you made a great choice. We always stayed in the cabins when I was growing up-- future trips will probably be spent there because my family will need a little more room. Sounds much more relaxing than construction all around!

Sounds like the FW Cabin is perfect for your family. Wish I could have your 65% off Grand Floridian reservation. :rotfl2:

I have heard wonderful things about the cabins. My grandmother stayed in one a while back and loved it!

I stayed with my family (mom, dad, sister, and brother and I believe my grandmother) back in the mid to late 80's and they were really cool. They have obviously updated them since then and I would love to stay in them again...if I could convince DH that it would make sense.

I was looking through the ADR list and can see that we will be at the same restaurants as three other DISers

I'll have my LGMHs on my hat and the one in my signature on my back pack just look for the Maple Leaf. I usually can be seen in a Hawaiian shirt.

No judgement here from me. If my husband decides at the last minute to join us again this year, I'll likely make a last minute switch to the cabins myself if they are still available with a military discount. He'll be much happier over in Ft. Wilderness with the space and the peace and quiet than sitting in a 45 minute long bus line at POR. :lmao: Gotta keep the man happy or we all suffer.

Any suggestions for a grocery store near SSR? I know Publix is not too far from DW...time to do some investigating:)

There's a Winn-Dixie just a few minutes away. Go out the DTD-Hotel Plaza Gate, and turn left onto Apopka-Vinland Rd. It's less than a mile up on the right.
They have a rewards/savings card, and you can sign up for it online.

The Publix we go to is just short of the corner of I-Drive S and 192.
Drop out Osceola Pkwy, turn right at Gaylord Palms, go under 417, and it's on the left, in about a minute.
It's a bit further from SSR, but we usually eat almost next door at Logan's Roadhouse if we shop there.

Can I join in? We are 8/5-8/17 Poly CL. I am so excited right now that I can't fall asleep. All I can think about is that in 3 weeks I will be spending my 2nd night at the Poly. :lovestruc :hyper:

Me, too... just realized I didn't post our ADR's.
Getting really excited, some of these are new for us, and we're going to be revisiting some favorites. Also looks like a bunch of us are going to be at MK on the 30th. It's going to really add to the fun to be on the lookout for all the Team August tags!
