Haven't officially booked a trip, but went ahead and made ADR's. Yes, we plan our trips around our meals! Planning on going Aug 4-11, with or without a discount. Staying at Pop if we don't get a discount, may upgrade to POR if we do get one. Here's hoping.

But I need a DISCOUNT for room onlys so I can book the week before and get a 10 day hopper with water parks so we can go for 14 days of playtime..

ah, the old "disney math"! drives us all crazy!

if nothing else, you can book the first week using a AAA discount, you don't need to book through AA, just mention when booking. you will need to show your card at check in.

have you considered renting DVC points for the first part? we love split stays, kinda like 2 vacations in one.

more disney math: when comapring prices, don't forget the AA and room only codes, the price soed not include tax. for dvc rentals, it does.

same thing here! value season starts early this year.. aug 5. we ahve to go in early aug cause we are going with son, DIL and grandson this year!! finally! but, she is a teacher. so has to be back my mid august.

we thought since value season started early, maybe the discounts would too.

one year, free dining started in mid august. well, hoping for some kind of discount.. maybe an AP discount?

I'm also a teacher - also thrilled of when value season starts - we are driving August 4th, staying in Altamonte Springs that night and going in first thing on August 5th. I wish they would do something else discount wise, but since we are staying at AofA, I'm thinking it wouldn't help anyway.

but at least we won't have to deal with the brazilian tour groups. (or.. as a CM told us at our resort last July..."July is Latin month at Disney World.. they are OUR guests"!.. as if WE we not their guests also.. as their adult chaperones were picking a fight with my husband for smoking IN the dsa, AND the teens were throwing our stuff off of our 2 loungers by the pool when we went to actually swim in the pool, OR the boys were kicking soccer balls off of our room window OR the teen brazilian soccer groups were chanting SO LOUD on our bus (including the adult chaperones) I had a head ache the whole next day) and they pushed us out of their way in lines at the food court, after numerous calls to the front desk, FINALLY, at 2 AM, got them to send someone to quiet the down, when we had to leave at 6 am... but, no nothing wrong with these groups at all.....

Wishing with you DH's fav part of vacation is going out to dinner every night so we plan a lot of TS's too. I'm doing the same as you, POP if no discount but hoping to upgrade to POR if a discount comes out, our trips will overlap, look for the "Buckeyes" at the pedals poolbar

Good tip, when I compared rack POR to POP, the AAA discount at least at POR would more than pay for a AAA membership. But like you say, if nothing else....I think we all hope for a better resort discount than with AAA

Let's hope for all of us to get some pixie dust for an early August discount I am jealous for the FD promo at the end of Aug, we just can't go that late because of school starting.

I hate to tell you this, but they're there in Aug too. And January.........I was there this past Jan, and there were lots of tour groups it seems. More these past 2 Januarys then before.

i'm still hoping for a pin code or at least an AP room discount for august..

Meeeee too For late August/early Sept. The free dining isn't a good deal for only 2, staying deluxe. Room discount is always better.

I've called often, very often in the past three months and have sadly watched as it seemed everyone else got a pin code but me.....and voila! Today a code for 5/24-8/14 for up to 30% off! I have no idea if it's good for all resorts as we already had our reservations in for 8/5-8/12 for Port Orleans Riverside so I applied the code to my existing and didn't ask about any other. She only had the Garden view, but I was fine with saving something.....I'll call in a month or two to see if a standard opens up.....

I should note, the last three years I have received a pin code in the middle of March for my summer trip...I should have been more patient

I'm a repeat customer, so Disney has my information on file. I do sign up for the planning dvd each year, and I do all of the sweepstakes, so I'm not really sure what the trigger is for the coupon. I also had already scheduled my trip and paid the $200.......sorry, this probably doesn't help! My code came in an email this time....

wow really??? Well i have been staying at the Polynesian the past 5 years and never received anything. Do you think if i let them know my situation they would give me the pin. I need one for early august

I received a pin code today also! I was already booked for 7/27 - 8/5 at the Contemporary tower and was just waiting for the GP discounts to come out - if any. But late last night I received an email saying "Come back to WDW and save" - a choice of the FD in late August or 30% off resorts from June - August 14th. Not sure why they would send it to me since we usually go every year. But it did reduce our trip total by $1400.

So, I'm guessing there must be some discounts going to come out for that timeframe.

CONGRATS on the pixie dust. You know, that Garden view is only $10/more a nights, at 30% off, you're only paying $7 not to look at a parking lot - not a bad upgrade really. Heck, I'd take it

I've been watching, waiting, hoping, sulking for a pin. Now I'm wondering if I should rebook at Mod over a value? But my luck, I may not get the pin and then when trying to rebook, POP would be gone oh the agony!

aargh!!! well,my dil is a teacher, so we are stuck with those dates. however. I heard that POP doesn't have the big tour groups, like the all stars do.
the thing was, turned out the whole area by the baseball section of the allstartr sports was basically reserved for this HUGE brazialian soccer group

now, we did request a room near the pool in this section. but.. if you knew this HUGE group[ was stayng there, even at check in, wouldn't you advise the people cheking in.. "um, I wouldn'
t recommmend that..."

when seating people at the restaurant where I work, I don't sit a romantic couple near a table with 2 families with 4 kids!
