August 2012 code watch

Hoping for Fd again for the end of August. We plan on doing 2 weeks if FD comes out. 3 nights at RPR at Universal followed by 11 nights at POR in a royal room. If no Fd looks like we will just go for 9 nights. But since Fd has been offered to candians already for that time. I'm pretty sure it will be offered to the us also.

Are the crowds much worse in late August then September? We were considering August 19th-29th but I wonder if I should pull them out of school instead and do maybe September 16th-26th.


Edited to say: we last went in 2008, January 3rd to the 10th or something....wait times were about 30 minutes. How does this period compare to then? (I found January a little too crowded....I used to go at less crowded times)

We are booked for August with free dining, from the bounceback offer in our room just before we left last week!

It will be our 4th year in a row going down in late August. The crowds have never been a problem. We generally wait less than 20 minutes for any ride. Dining can be a bit crazy, if you don't have reservations! The heat and humidity are intense but our family can't imagine going any other time! Hope to plan with all of you!

We are going for a girls only trip in August 2012. Hoping for some kind of a room only discount. Not sure if we are staying at POP, POFQ or BC/YC.

I know this years discounts were only for the deluxe resorts, but hoping maybe next year will be different

This is my first time posting to this site. Please add me to the August 2012 list. I am a teacher in New York and my husband and two daughters and I will be going late August 2012 before school starts. We went as a family 3 years ago and my husband wasn't thrilled. I am trying to up the ante this trip so that he becomes a true Disney fan like myself. In order to do this in style, I am looking for any great discounts to help defray the costs. We are planning an August 2012 vacation as well. Right now we are considering the Polynesian, the Contemporary or the Yacht Club so any discounts will be most welcome!! We have two boys (8 and 9 next year) and we want to give them the full Disney experience. Of course Mom and Dad are VERY excited too!!!

Can someone PLEASE tell me, or give me an idea, of when the August 2012 discount is coming? I check everyday, hoping. I can't stand it...I live in WA state - I NEED my WDW DISNEY fix!! I am thankful I am making it to DL this year BUT I need to get my next WDW trip booked. I am just waiting for free dining!!

For all of you with young kids, who can take a break from elementary school for a vacation, be thankful. My son is in middle school and he sooo wants to go to WDW BUT he doesn't want to ruin his GPA. I am trying to respect that by planning a 2012 vacation in August but it is soooo hard! Happy September to all!!
