August 2011

I did alot of my packing today...just getting into that Disney mood. These next 2 weeks are going to drag.

I didn't start to pack yet but I did start to select the outfits we will be bringing. And I've made my final grocery list!

My middle DD has to go into the hospital this week for some tests, so I will be distracted. Once she gets out it will be only 5 days till we leave.

Started packing today!!! We leave Tues morning, but I feel like there is still lots to do. I've gotten DD mostly packed too. I just have to run some errands and finish up the laundry tomorrow. We will be celebrating DH's birthday tomorrow night so I will be making lasagna and worrying about having everything ready to go for our 10 am flight on Tues!!! My 8 mos of planning is finally coming to fruition!

Does your daughter not know about the trip? Enjoy the party! You are almost there!

Finally...I can say I'm leaving for Disney World this weekend. I feel like there's so much to do for before we leave...ahhh.

Thanks Lizzy!

She is 20 years old and has had epilepsy since she was 8. It's been a while since they have adjusted her medication. She starts nursing school in September so it's time for a tune-up!

She will go into the hospital tomorrow and hopefully will come home Friday night or Saturday morning. She will have a 72hr. video eeg, they will take her completely off of her meds and then put her back on, it's frightening because she will have some seizures, the last time they did this she had 50 seizures in just a little over an hour (she was 16 then). Hopefully they will control things better this time and after the test she will be better than ever!

The plan is that she will stay home (and cover my job - her choice) while we are in Disney, however, if she's not doing well she may be forced to come along!

Wow! How scary! Hopefully she wont have soo many this time and feels better quickly. What kind of job do you do that your daughter can take over? I would love having a back-up like that. LOL

I work for my FIL - he's a financial planner. I answer the phones, type, file, do follow-up. I also do a few more complicated things that she can't do but those things can wait till I get back! She will come into work with me next week for training, it's really an easy job.

We're back! Late last night! Had an awesome time at AKL! We did get flamingos and those cute little animals down the pool slides in the am! Nice surprise! It was super hot and we did seem to have our days of rain! It rained so bad last night our flight was a bit delayed going home. My only complaint about most of the pools at Disney are the fact that you cannot find a clock anywhere. I know you are on vacation and should not worry about the time but when you have dinner reservations sometimes you just need to keep an eye on the time. We ate at the Mara for breakfast and a few times for lunch. Spent a lot of time at the pool towards the end of the week. Park hoppers and water park options used too! Did Typhoon Lagoon and Disney Quest. One day we walked MK twice! First time getting blisters on my feet and also came home with the Disney rash on my feet and lower legs. That is becomming a tradition for me. Glad to be home but we already miss our AKL home.

Glad you had a good time. How were the crowds?

Crowded.....went to Epcot one morning for early hours and it took them 20 minutes to let us inside! Not sure why it took so long and wasted good park time! MK was pretty crowded every visit and we hopped back there quite a few nights. AK opening time was very crowded but we hiked to the safari and it was a walk on. Also did TL but it rained on us for three hours. All of our towels were wet which made for a bad car ride home! At least we didn't have to sit on an air conditioned bus!:scared1:

Hope all goes well! That's great that she starts nursing school in September! My son has only ever had the office EEG, I'd be a nervous wreck for the 72 hour one. Here's hoping for seizure free days after the "tune up"!
