Going to Mexico in two weeks. Hadn't posted anything in a while and wanted to see my WDW ticker (that feels like a second home, not vacation).

Yay!
Have fun!
Getting to be frustrated by myself...
Switched from ASMu to POP and adding a day. Now 19th-27th (WL and POP).

Updated!

Getting closer...amazingly still have not told the kids...hopefully we can hold out the entire time.

How exciting!

The first time we went and didnt tell them until the morning when we headed to he airport. It was soo hard keeping it from them!

Have fun in Mexico! Are you going to an all-inclusive?

Yes--an Iberostar in Playa del Carmen. DH is changing jobs so we are getting away during "transition time." It will be his first week-long vacation since starting the job he's leaving. Plus, we all just renewed/received our passports so they were burning a hole in our pockets so to speak.

It should be amazing. DH and I went to Cozumel in '03 so are familiar with the area.

Plus by the time we get back from Mexico, it's only a little over a month till the WDW trip that's been booked since September. We just booked Mexico last week. That makes the time go SO much faster. :goodvibes

Lovekermit-I stayed at that Iberostar years ago! Probably 8 years or so ago. It was GREAT! We stayed on the Quetzal side and it was very jungle-y and cool. Have a Miami Vice on the beach for me.

Yes-Quetzal for us too. It was so hard to decide! Not as easy as doing an 11 month home resort reservation or taking DVC potluck for last minute. We actually thought we would stay in Cancun and had it narrowed down. Couldn't figure out the kid stuff situation so went totally different (and familiar) with Playa del Carmen. Looking forward to it.... Thanks!

Awesome! I just got married at an Iberostar (in Cuba) and had the most amazing time. I also agree that having another trip so close to Disney helps make the time go faster. Enjoy the beach!:cloud9:

Quick question...Are there a lot of mosquitos around Disney in August. I'm allergic to them and seem to attract them where ever I go. Being from Michigan there are a ton all summer. I would like to be prepared and bring bug spray if needed.

Is it August yet?

I have no idea about the mosquito thing but I would go ahead and pack your bug spray because if you have to buy it at Disney you'll probably pay an arm and leg for it.

I have been there in January, July and October and do not recall ever seeing a mosquito.

We were there last August and never saw a mosquito. We're from Wisconsin and are very mosquito infested here too! My dd6 is a mosquito magnet and came home without a single bite. I've heard that Disney sprays for mosquitos. Don't know if that's true or not, but it would make sense since we never saw/heard one (nothing worse than that high-pitched buzzing in your ear when you're laying in bed!)

Still, never hurts to bring it along since as a pp pointed out, it'll cost you an arm and a leg to buy it there!

Sorry, I hate to be the bringer of bad news but it's still only June. Mind you, the way the weather has been in Orlando this week that may be a good thing.

8 weeks from today! The only downside is the feeling I'm wishing away my summer.

We were 9 weeks from yesterday!:dance3: I feel the same way about the summer!:confused3 And my younger 2 aren't even out of school for the summer yet.:scared1:

I was thinking the same thing the other day. I want late August to be here now! However, I wouldn't mind enjoying my summer...I guess. Now, how do I do that when all my spending money goes into the Disney fund?

I am wishing away my summer too! And where I live that's a bad thing because we only have two seasons summer and winter, and our winter is about 9 months long!

Maybe I should focus on my small trip to the west in July, maybe that will stop me for begging for August! I miss WDW!

It sounds like I'm not the only one torn about a late summer trip. Unfortunately, we don't have the time (or $) to plan anything else but Disney this summer so it's hard not to want to count down the days! I am only glad not to be there this week. Is it really 105 degrees? yikes
