August 2011

I just made arrangements and started to get that excited pre-Disney feeling! Found myself spending a lot of time on the DIS this week...

The backstory: We planned to do a 5-day Universal trip in January, however the morning we were to fly out, the kids awoke at 3AM with a stomach virus. I'd had it earlier in the week and knew it wasn't a 24-hour thing, so poof! trip gone, so sad. My poor niece was going with us and I had to call her and cancel just as she was about to leave for the airport.
Fortunately we were flying Southwest, so I was able to cancel and get the credit to use later, and canceled the RPR, and started thinking about when we would be able to go and use the Universal tickets that were burning a hole in my pocket. Tickets and airfare already paid for, and I happen to have 7-day Disney passes we didn't use on a previous trip (another long story), so the wheels started turning.

Which brings us to...
Aug 16 - 19 at the POR
Aug 19 - 21 at RPR Universal (with niece)
Aug 21 - 26 at the Dolphin

First time I've done a split stay, first time at any of these resorts, first visit in August. I hope it won't be crazy crowded, but we will do rope drops, mid-day rests, and sleep in every third day (mandated by DS and Tour Guide Mike). At Universal we'll have front of the line and early entry. Should be good! See you there!

I just booked a bounce back vacation yesterday just before we checked out of Pop Century. We are going back to CSR Aug 26-29!!!

I am not worries about the lines I am quite skilled with using fastpass to my advantage! I was just hoping not be packed in the park like sardines, especially in th eheat in August.

SHHH! don't mention hurricanes you will jinx us!

I went to WDW January 8- 20 2009 for a grand gathering and it was pretty much walk-on with few waits only being at Soarin and TSM!

LOL! I hear you! know the crowds are definitely not enormous just busy some times and things you possibly will walk on just saying dont always expect it! I love August even w the heat! You get use to it after awhile :)

3 mths from now we will be flying to Disney! :)
Woohoo! Us to! I can't wait!!:cool1:

Stan Solo...

You are absolutely right! Since this is my 1000th post I figured I would share it with my August 2011 friends and celebrate that I will be at WDW in 90 days!:cool1::cool1::yay::yay:

We've stayed at ASMo. December '10 was our most recent. We've enjoyed it!

August as well....Aug 1 - 8, 2011 :cool1::cool1:

We are staying at AKL for the first time.

While it isn't my first trip, it's Cade's first trip (hence my name!) We are so excited because we are surprising him. He's 8, and has begged to go to Disney for a while - we just didn't think we could swing it money wise. So, we planned on going to Myrtle Beach, and that's what we've continued to tell him. As I was getting ready to book a condo at the beach for a week, I decided to just call and see how much it would cost for us to stay at ASMo. I couldn't believe it was about 1/2 of what the condo at the beach was going to cost. And, since I had old tickets from 1998 (2 adults and one child), this trip was looking very affordable. So here we are, going to WDW August 15 - 20. We are now trying to figure out the best way to surprise Cade.

BTW, Jeff hasn't beene there since 1978, so it's practically his first trip, too.

I've never gone during a busy period, so I'm hoping that we can figure out ways to get through the parks without a horrible amount of waiting.

Glad to have officially joined your ranks. And counting down.

Alison, Jeff and Cade!
