August 2008 Disney Trek PTR

We just requested the 50's. We really don't care which building, although the closer we could be to the buses and food court would be nice. However, any one will be fine. I just wanted to be close to the bowling pin pool. Last time we were by the computer pool and we really loved that, but just wanted something different if possible. We really have no desire to be by the Hippy Dippy pool, because it just seems so busy and we like the quieter areas. So do the girls. DH doesn't swim, but he comes out in the evenings and gets a comfy chair and reads a book while we swim.

No we're not doing the water parks. Just a 10 day Park Hopper. DD's don't really have any interest in the water parks, as long as they have a pool. Actually we live close to the Kings Island Amusement Park and Water Park and we had seasons passes last year and never even went to the water park only the amusement park.

I forgot you were flying. That's really cool getting your Magical Express Stuff. I hope that all works out really great for you. I'd be interested in hearing about that as DH and I are talking about going back for a couple of days in February next year to celebrate our 20th Anniversary. If we did that, I'm sure we'd probably fly, so we wouldn't be gone so long. I'm not sure we're going to get to do it, but we are considering it.

I don't have a request for anything particular in pictures, but I know I'll enjoy whatever you take. You do a really good job with your pics and I love hearing all about your trips. The time will pass before you know it, especially since you're starting to pack the little things already.

Welcome Nicole. Glad to have you. Is the meet going to be at Whispering Canyon? When? We haven't made any ADR's as we plan to just do Counter Service this trip. We're attempting to keep the price down as much as possible. But I would like to see that resort, so maybe we could meet in the lobby or someplace. If not, maybe some other place while we're all there we could find a time and place to meet.

Pooksma Thanks for the compliment on DD's Tink pic. I'm really proud of her drawings. Yep, just 63 days for you to be there and 63 days from right now we'll be at a hotel in southern Georgia resting up for our arrival day. Can't wait.

Storms are starting to come back through. Starting to get a lot of lightening. We've had them off and on all day today. In fact DH is checking right now to see if there are any tornado warnings. I know we've had watches a lot today. Going to get off line now and turn off the computer so it doesn't get fried. See everyone tomorrow.

By the way DD got her cast off today and is doing great!!

Do you think you can get your daughter to show us a Disney picture a day to show us until it is time to leave?!?!? That would be a pleasant pick-me-up every day! She's very good. Must be nice to have such a talent. I would show you my drawings (stick figures), but even those are lacking. I'm hoping we can do the drawings at the Animation Studios to see what I can come up with under expert guidance.

Just checking in. I thought I heard the clock ticking very loudly this morning...and fast, too! Counting down the seconds, minutes, hours, and days until you guys get to go. I just hoped on declansdad and pooksma's thread, and I'll hope here, too, that the Dis meet is a great one and everyone can make it!

Do you think you can get your daughter to show us a Disney picture a day to show us until it is time to leave?!?!? That would be a pleasant pick-me-up every day! She's very good. She starts camp next week and will be busy most of the time until we leave and probably won't have much time to draw new ones. She'll be counseling a camp and then going to her own camp and then she has International Youth Convention to attend and also she'll be helping us do a week of Bible School at our church. Plus she's trying to do extra chores at home to earn some spending money for Disney. With all her commitments this summer she wasn't able to get a part time job. I'll see what she says tonight and at least try to post 1 a day for as long as they last. I'm sure she'll be pleased that someone wants to see them.

Good for her doing all that church work. Camp memories are some of the best! She sounds like a really good kid. I know you're very proud of her!

Don't go out of your way with the pictures. I don't want to add more tasks for you to do every day, but I'd love to see any that she does. I just am very impressed with anyone who can draw or paint (or sing or dance or...all the things I can't do), and any Disney picture just adds to the fun of the wait.

I got a call around midnight last night asking me to come in to work at 4:00am because someone was sick. So I got about 3 hrs. of sleep or so. It's gonna be a long long day. But at least it's Friday and then I'll be off for the weekend.

We can meet you at MK or wherever everyone wants. If there's someplace at WCC or near there we could probably do that too. We don't have APR's there but would like to see Wilderness Lodge sometime while on this trip. So when everyone decides, let us know and we'll try to meet with everyone for a few minutes. Glendamax just called me from Magic Kingdom. She's standing in line at Buzz Lightyear. She said it is so hot and so crowded. She's used to going in more off-seasons, so this will be very different. Anyway, I could hear Disney World being Disney World in the background, so that was cool!
