August 2008 Disney Trek PTR

Hello! I am so glad I have you to count down for me! All I know is 54 days!!!!!!

Here's the pic of which I spoke earlier. It was taken just before the kiss. We ddin't know that part was going to happen :rotfl2:

So, I'm signing on, because we'll be at POP the same time as you.

We don't seem to have any days the same, but I was wondering about your MK mini-meet. Only problem is, we've got late Epcot ressies that night.

But, I'm thinking, we'll probably run into each other at some point during the week! :)

Welcome to our thread. I hope we do run into each other. That would be so much fun. I will tell you we were working on our schedule the other night and have made quite a few changes. Originally we weren't doing any sit-down meals, but we've changed that and several other things also. I'll have to post that again, but I'll probably wait until closer to our trip as we'll probably make more changes.

I'm more of a Princess person, too. I know Jack Sparrow has a huge following, though. The animatronic figures of him in Pirates of the Caribbean are amazing! I'm not fond of facial hair or long hair on guys, so he really doesn't do much for me. I do appreciate her picture, though.

Maybe you will all cross paths at Pop. 5boyz recognized Jill and Brooklynn as they were walking by the bowling pin pool last year and called out to them. We ended up seeing them two more times, and we talked to them for several minutes one of those times just standing and sitting out by the table they were at at the pool.

Counting down - 16 days, 11 hours, and some minutes! :dance3:

Yep, he's definitely not my kinda guy, but the girls love him. They are very excited to see him in the POTC ride. Last time we were there in 2006 they had it closed and were working on adding him. So it's been 4 years since we've done POTC. I love that ride. It's such a great place to cool down when it's really hot. :)

I'm hoping we'll meet several DIS'ers while we're there. Although, I'm sure most would rather not see me at the pool (with the way I look in a swim suit it would scare them to death :rotfl2: ) I'll definitely be looking for the lime green Mickey heads and checking windows at POP. We're planning to do some decorating. In fact, part of the window plans include some of DD's pictures.

Wow memom only 16 days. That is so cool for you and for us. I'm looking forward to more TR's and pics from you guys. That'll help all of us August people waiting for our trips ::yes::

I'm so glad to help with the countdown. I figure about 8 weeks from right about now we'll be at DHS maybe getting ready for Fantasmic.

Pooksma that is such a cute picture. I don't think our DD's ever got their pictures taken with her.

My friend just returned to work today after a week at WDW. He said the crowds weren't too bad and they didn't have to wait too long. His little girls had a blast. This is the first time they were tall enough to get to ride all the rides, including Everest, TOT and RnRC. He said they loved them all.

One thing he did tell me was that they were not able to ride the new Toy Story Mania ride. He said that they went to DHS 2 days and when they went to get Fast Passes for the ride they were all gone for the day by 10:00am. So if you plan to ride this ride, you might want to get your Fast Passes first thing when you go in. That's our plan anyway. I do not want to miss this ride! :goodvibes

It's just 8 weeks. :dance3:

DD drew this guy several years ago. He hangs on my bulletin board at work.

Jiminy Cricket

Very cute! Keeping that at work with you is a nice reminder of two good reasons you go to work - your family and Disney trips! :)

Jiminy Cricket happens to be one of my favorites. I'm going to use him as a display theme on a bulletin board next year dealing with behavior, getting along with peers, being responsible, etc. I need to get a good poster this summer to put up, and I have the 9" plush Jiminy to put with it.

Am I dedicated or what? While I'm on my vacation, I'll be thinking of my job! I guess it's only right, because I've been known to think about vacation while I'm at the job.

Brooklynn would point to her and say, "Rella," with a big smile on her face.

Two weeks from tomorrow, we'll be going to Rella's house!!!

Has your daughter left for camp yet?

Wow just 2 weeks. That's awesome ::yes::

DD16 just got back this afternoon from being Jr. Counselor at Middler Camp since Tuesday. DD13 was there Monday and Tuesday as Jr. Counselor for Primary Camp. They are both home for the weekend. DD16 goes back Monday through Friday as a camper at Sr. High Camp then will be home for the weekend. DD13 goes as a camper the next Monday through Friday for Jr. High Camp and that same week DD16 is going to be a Jr. Counselor at her camp. DH and I get to have 5 days just the two of us. :goodvibes How cool is that? I wonder what ever will we do without kids around.

We intend to! :goodvibes

Can't wait to read your new report and I hope you guys have a fabulous time ::yes::

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoy them. I think she's pretty terrific!

After seeing Renfroe Teams Trip Report and breakfast at Boma's we decided to make an ADR for Boma's. All 4 of us thought it looked really good from their pictures. Our first and only ADR so far. I'm really looking forward to seeing AKL too! :dance3:

Hi Tckk, Isn't his report great? I am learning so much from it. He went to some of the restaurants that we have ADR's at. You got your tickets. :dance3: Did you feel like doing the happy dance? Did you send for the maps? I'm not telling DH about the maps. He will like them and will be surprised. I bet your your kids are excited. Now I will continue to read your ptr.

I can't talk my crew into Boma...yet. Eventually, we will get to it, but since we still have a lot of other new places to try, I won't push it for now. I think it looks quite interesting, and the guys would probably like it, but Jill's not much of an adventurous eater, so she's the one who is dragging her feet on going. We'll get there in time, though.

Nice Ariel picture! I hope this is a fun week at camp.

Two weeks from today is an Epcot day. I'll be heading toward Soarin' as soon as they let us in!

I love his report and I hate that it's almost over. I have learned a lot from him. Yes we got our tickets and that was so exciting. And yes I did feel like dancing (fortunately, for my kids sake, I didn't actually dance, only in my head :lmao: ) We ordered the maps and received them a couple weeks ago. We all thought they were really cool. ::yes::

Memom, if they haven't have them look at Team Renfroe's report. He has awesome breakfast pictures from Boma. I showed the pictures to both DD's and DH and immediately they wanted to go there. Of course it helped that it was a Saturday morning and no one had eaten yet, so they were really hungry when they looked at the pictures. But you know, a mom's gotta do what a mom's gotta do. ;)

Thanks for the compliment on the picture of Ariel. I think that's the last one she has for me to post for now. She really hasn't had much time this weekend to go through her stuff to find any more and I don't think she's completed the one from the "Fox and the Hound" that she's working on. She leaves for camp today around 11:30am or so and I won't see her again until I get home from work on Friday. She absolutely loves camp!

I love Soarin' and EPCOT. In fact, I think EPCOT is my favorite park and I know it's my hubby's favorite. Can't wait to go back and see it again. Just 7 weeks from tomorrow and we'll be leaving. That means if you go in two weeks then when you come back I'll have a few weeks to read your newest report and then we'll be there and you can read our report when we come back which will help you through the beginning of school and with the wait until you go again in November! :thumbsup2

Well, I guess I better stop this and go get ready for work so I can go earn the money we need so we can go to WDW ;)

Hope everyone has a great day!

7 weeks from today and we'll be heading to Disney. In fact right about now we'd be on I-75 probably around Lexington, KY depending on how early DH can get everyone up and moving! If he had his way we'd already be in TN by now. He can never sleep the night before a trip. He always so excited. :hyper: Actually I'm not much better. How about you guys? Are you able to sleep the night before?

I don't sleep even when I'm not excited. When I have a trip the next day, forget it!

You need to pull off the side of the road here in Nashville and come see me. If the time is right when you drive through here, we need to meet at an interstate exit. The kids won't be in school yet - just teacher work days and meetings, so maybe I could work it out to skip up to the exit and say a quick hello to you guys, depending on what time of day you come by here. Our school is only about a mile off the exit, right on the main road. We'll have to talk when it gets closer to time and see if we can arrange that.

Hey, maybe you could even take a flat MeMom to your big Dis meet!!! Naah, I don't like my picture taken, so that might not work. :)

7 weeks from today and we'll be heading to Disney.

I love how our trips are almost exact - in 7 weeks we'll be doing our final luggage shuffle and loading the van to be ready to take off to the airport the following morning. If we were driving we would be a day behind you - leaving Wed afternoon, driving to southern Illinois for the night. Thurs night we would be somewhere in southern GA - definitely south of Atlanta, probably within an hour of the FL border (can't go into Florida because we would miss stopping at the Welcome Center!) - then Friday we would be rolling into WDW around lunch time.

YAY! That means 7 weeks and 2 days for us! Of course, we're staying a few days at my grandparents before.

I definatly won't be able to sleep! :)

Memom, I would love to do this, but we'll be going down I-75 all the way and we don't go by Nashville, but instead we're near Knoxville and Chatanooga. I wish we could work it out though, I'd love to get to meet you! I'd be more than happy to take a flat MeMom with us to the Dismeet or even the real one. I'm sure we could fit you and a suitcase in the van. :car: Just let us know which exit on I-75 you can meet us and we'll pick you up. ::yes::

Yep that is so cool ::yes:: We'll drive down I-75 :drive: and we have a room in Valdosta that night. Then next morning we'll be in the car about 20-30 minutes and stop at the Florida Welcome Center for our free OJ :drinking1 I love to stop there. We've been doing that since I was a child. My parents loaded up 5 kids and headed to Florida to visit relatives in December and we always stopped there. Oh the memories!!
