August 2008 Disney Trek PTR

Wow hope your DD is doing OK.

Prince Caspian for Mother's Day...Hmm...interesting idea...

How many days do we have left now?:dance3:

Hi Pooksma and Moparop - Thanks for asking about DD. She is doing fine. She goes to the orthopedic doc on Monday to find out for sure whether or not it's broken. She still can't turn it as far as normal, but she doesn't seem to have much pain. So we just have to wait and see.

Can't wait to see Prince Caspian. I love Chronicles of Narnia, and I'm hoping this will be just as good. Plus my whole family, even DH wants to go. He normally would prefer to wait til they come out on video, but he wants to go to the theater for this one too. popcorn::

Moparop - Welcome to our thread. I see you're from Cincinnati. I have a sister who lives in Cincinnati. We live in Lebanon. What are your dates in August?

Pooksma - we have 95 days and I can't remember if you arrive before or after us. I think you just have 94 days. :woohoo: Times moving slow, but at least its moving. And reading everyones travel plans and trip reports and seeing all the photos help pass the time. :)

Hi I am enjoying your pretrip report. Thanks for posting. It is nice to see how other people are plannning their trips. Joining in! I love to see what other people have planned for August. We'll be in WDW at the same time.

It's fun reading all the August pretrip reports. We'll be there too. I hope we don't melt when we get there. I have been there in August and it is HOT. My plan is get there in AM till mid-day. Then go back to CSR where we are staying for a siesta or swim. Afterwards return to EM park for the evening. We are on DDP so I may have to make some modifications to the plan. We haven't done the DDP before so I hope it doesn't interfere too much with seeing all the parks.

I agree, it is fun to read everyone's August reports. Sounds like a lot of us are going to be there. We plan to do the same as you. Go in the AM and then leave in hottest part of day and rest and swim at the hotel. My kids are the age where they want to get suntans as much as possible. You know they need to look good when they come back home and be tanner than anyone else. My youngest DD goes back to school (7th grade, oh my) the day after we get home. I know she's hoping to be more tan than anyone in her class. We didn't do the DDP. our plans are to do mostly counter service.

We started this weekend planning our itinerary. Will probably try to post this later today. It's just in the beginning stages.

Here are our tentative plans:

Arrival Day - August 6 Wednesday -- arrive around 2p and check in and get unpacked and settled and maybe take a swim. Head to DHS as they have late night EMH

Thursday - do MK in the morning - it's early morning hrs. and I know it'll be crowded, but we can't be there any longer without seeing the Castle. Then do Epcot later in the day

We have planned each day to go back in the worst heat of the day and swim and rest.

Friday - Epcot in AM and MK for late night (we love this so much. Really this is the only late night EMH we've ever done)

Saturday - DHS and maybe Downtown Disney later

Sunday - AK in AM and MK for late night EMH

Monday - Epcot in AM and DHS in evening

Tuesday - AK in AM - Maybe check out other resorts later

Wednesday - MK in AM - Pool, check out other resorts, DTD

Thursday - DHS in AM - Epcot in evening

Friday - Catch up on any rides we want to do again or may have missed and do MK late night EMH

Saturday - head home (don't even want to type this, let alone do it :rotfl: )

These are tentative plans so we don't get up each morning and spend and hour trying to decide where to go, but I know us and know that we're always open to change.

We are actually in Mason and are out in Lebanon at least once a week. I love Marvin's Organic Gardens and my son is doing Early Intervention through MRDD. We'll be at Disney August 9-15. We are staying at All Star Movies as part of a Grand Gathering with my parents and older brother and his fam. I have a tentative schedule for the trip based off of my likes and TGM and it looks like we match up with you a bit. How funny would it be to live 15ish miles apart but do a meet-up at WDW!

Now that would be awesome. We're actually in Mason quite often ourselves. We drive thru there to go to the Tylersville and the Fields Ertel area to shop. Who knows, maybe we will do a meet-up down there.:) Probably the appropriate place would be at "IASW", what do you think?

For sure!!!

And possible minimeet! With whoever wants to join us all!

Just let us know when and where on the meet and we'll be there!!! :thumbsup2

I don't get to be near the computer very often, but I wanted you to know I am keeping up with your pre-trip when I can. I hope you, Declan's mom and dad, and Nicole can all have a great Dis meet in August!

Thanks. I appreciate you keeping up with us. I know I love reading you and your mom's report and I love watching your little Brooklynn growing up. :)

Thought I'd show a few pictures here.

DD did have to have a cast put on her arm until June 3rd. Her daddy wants to know if this makes her a cast member. (I know, I know, I can't do a thing with him and his corny jokes :rotfl: )

We stopped in our local Dollar Store to look for any Disney stuff we could use to decorate our POP window with and we started goofing around with these hats.

Can I help it if we're all just a little crazy when we're making Disney plans? :confused3

We came out of church last night and there were 7 of these hot air balloons in the sky.

Here's a close up of one - My DD was so embarrassed because I pulled off the side of the road to get this photo. If that embarrassed her, what's she going to do when I start getting silly at Disney.

DH just reminded me that 13 weeks from right now we should be checking in at POP Century!!:dance3:

Wow - we have the exact same dates!! Had we stuck with our plan to drive we would have also probably wound up in Valdosta. But instead we decided to fly. We arrive on Wed the 6th and fly out on Sat the 16th. I will have DS19, DS17, DS15 and DS's friend 14 with me and DH. We are staying at OKW. OUr initial few days sound the same - hit the morning EMH - after we hit all 4 parks the first time it is up for grabs though!

Hi mom3sonstt - Yep, looks like we'll be there at the same time. I kind of agree with you. After we make it to all the parks once, I don't know how closely we'll follow our schedule. But at least the schedule gives us a tentative plan and we'll tweak it the whole time we're there.

Who knows, maybe we'll run into you while we're there or there's been talk about trying to meet up somewhere for a mini Dismeet while we're there. Could be a lot of fun :)

Twelve weeks from tomorrow and we'll be leaving Ohio heading to head to WDW! :dance3: :dance3: Can't wait!!

Thought I'd post a picture or 2 from our last trip. I love looking at everyone elses photos from past trips, so here are a couple of ours.

That helps just getting to look at these pictures. It makes the waiting a little more bearable. :rotfl:

Amazing photo. How could she be embarrassed after seeing that photo.

1977 MK- Grandma’s house, 1978 MK- Grandma’s house, 1984 MK + Epcot- Days Inn, 1996- FW Cabin. Loved staying on site. Coming up August 10-15Coronado Springs.

How is it that twelve weeks sounds so close when you're talking about your trip, but six weeks sounds so far when I'm talking about mine???

Our counter says 44 days, 9 hours, 53 minutes right now.

We're eating at Crystal Palace on our first day.

Thanks for the pictures!

Great pics! I love looking at everyone's memories too:thumbsup2

How many days do we have now???

Pooksma it's 82 days until you are there and 83 for us!! :dance3:

Memom 12 weeks seems pretty long to me, but your 6 weeks and new report and pictures will help make the wait easier. :)

Actually, looking forward to a trip and planning and looking at everyones reports and pics is a lot of fun too. Not as fun as being there mind you, but still fun!!!
