Do we need to worry about any bugs, mosquitos, or anything like that during the month of august? We will be there for 14 nights and want to be prepared. We are staying at Pop.

We always stay the end of August and have never had any problems with any bugs. We have stayed at POFQ, CB and AKL. Good luck.

We stay at WDW every August. I have never stayed at PoP, but the only place at all in WDW I have ever seen mosquitos was at one of the mini-golf courses. We were attacked, literally. I think you're ok at the resorts though...

I've @ the Yatch club the past two years in late Aug/Sept. We never had any mosquito problems except when exploring the Fort Wilderness Camp Grounds before Hoop Dee Doo

We were at POR for 8 days this last July and out of the 5 of us we only had two misquito bites.

It's not the bugs you have to worry about, it's the heat and humidity! :sunny:

Thanks everyone. I can't tell you how many people think i am nuts for going in august.

Amen!!!!

Every year we go in August, and when we get back I swear we will never go again in August. The heat and humidity are unbearable sometimes. This past August we went to see that Main Street Elecrical Parade. It had rained that afternoon, so it was like a steam bath outside. I think it was hotter at 9pm then it was at 3pm. Every time we watch the video, it reminds me of how miserable I was from the heat.

There is one benefit to going in the heat. When we went of 8 days in July I was eating anything I wanted(king dongs, funnel cakes) and I still ended up losing 7 lbs.

I don't think it's the heat. It's the miles of walking!! :rotfl:

We have been in August many times and the heat, humidity and rain is where the problems lie. And....you may have to throw in a hurricane. But........the crowds are low and if you take breaks in the day and be there first thing in the am it's all doable. It doesn't even cool down after the sun sets!

I go in August frequently. Guess what? In New York it has been hotter plus last year we were there when New Yorkk was blacked out! No A/C, no pool!
Don't worry about it go and enjoy!
