I'm going to butt in here and say I love the Ship of Fools theme...

and encourage the inclusion of Stephen King books in the book exchange.

Also wondering if the Beer Song tee shirt was stolen from the Adventurers Club or if the Adventurers Club stole it from the tee shirt...

I couldn't believe that we were losing our place near the top of the page so I am just doing my duty! It's lunchtime on the East coast and we need to find our thread quickly to maximize our lunch hours!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hey Sandygirl...I'm with you...no Stephen King--I do however like, Mary Higgins Clark, Nora Roberts, Danielle Steel, Belva Plain etc. but don't like any mysteries that will keep me up at night--I might try to jump off the balcony of my verranda---oh, I forgot, I don't have a verannda on this trip!!! Mary Jo

More than welcome to borrow mine Mary Jo if you give me enough warning....

hmmmm $10 a piece and could probably cram 25 - 30 people in to watch you swan dive.....

Hey this could work well :)

Cheers,
Grumbo

A quick pop in for me. I am totally stressed out over my house closing. We are supposed to close Thursday and last night my morgage girl calls and tells me that "We made a mistake, we can't do your loan the way we thought" so I have spent all morning getting through that. So I think we have it done and she says, "Did you have a pension award letter when you retired"? Uh, no, my company didn't give one to me. Well now she needs it. Why she couldn't tell me last week wehn we were redoing all the paperwork for the 2nd time I don't know. Now we are redoing for the 3rd time, I am waiting for all the papers to come on my fax machine. I swear I am going to jump off Mary Jo's non exiostant verandah if this doesn't end soon!

Love the luggage, pictures, jokes, new people, etc.

:cool1:

Hey I love Nora Roberts. I do like some mysteries, nothing gory. Does anyone like Scifi? I admit l read that too.
kpgclark-- thanks for the info on the KofP meeting. We'll be getting ready for the annual New England vacation. Leaving on the 8th. Oh heavens all those pages of posts for me to read when we get back. :faint:

Off now to shop for DHs' birthday on the 25th. Got him the two Panama Canal books, and some clothes to put away for the trip. Want to find some other little things. Estelle :earsgirl:

Hi all. Long-time lurker, first-time poster. Just wanted to say that DH and I are also booked on this grand adventure. Thought it was about time to sign on so our numbers can be even more impressive! Looking forward to sailing with all of you!:D

Welcome Underdesea! Glad to have you with us!

Does anyone have an idea how the book swap will work? (and if they already wrote it, shame on me for missing it).

I'm wondering if there are enough people/books to swap by category:

One idea: The Sci-Fi Swap!, and other the HORROR swap, the FANTASY swap, the BEACH READ swap.

Different times/places for each - held one week into the cruise to allow for people to finish up their books.

Is everyone on vacation? There were hardly any posts to catch up on.

Welcome Aboard underdesea!

We are definately on the same wave :boat: length, Mary Jo. I'll swap with you anytime! And I DO have a verandah! You can sit on it anytime. No jumping though!LOL

sandygirl....you've got a deal...as we get closer, we'll have to email each other as to what books we haven't read, etc.

kpgclark....can you send someone or post just who is supposed to be at the Dis Meet at King of Prussia--I would be willing to share some of the responsibility with someone else as far as contacting and maybe picking up some Disney stuff if this is what everyone wants to do--we should be able to be there by 11:00 a.m. since we have a two hour drive depending on traffic. Let someone know if you want us to do anything. Mary Jo

Welcome aboard! Your name will be added to the list at the very beginning of this thread. If you want your room number and/or dining seating, send them along when you get them.

I just had a thought. The Magic used to have a library area. Just a little room that I happened to stumble onto. Not even sure if it is still there. Maybe we could use that area as a "book swap depository". Any books I bring will be freebies to whoever wants them. Or we could set up a time to meet there.

Or we could meet in the coffee lounge (like intellectuals, LOL). :chat:

I have never been to a DISmeet before so I am not sure what is involved. I would be willing to contribute if someone told me what to do. We are about 2 hours away also. It sounds like fun even if it is only lunch.

I thought lunch and then an excursion to the Disney Store (and Yankee Candle or wherever) would be a lot of fun alone. However I read about the great sounding gathering in New Jersey recently and I feel like a heel :( Their meet sounded fairly involved with door prizes and other fun stuff like a trivia game.

Anyhow, there is a thread on the Meets board but nobody has responded recently. I have around 5-10 PM's with names of people who are interested in going. How about if I point them to the thread on the Meets board and we discuss what to do there?

Kathy

underdesea - I'm living in Indiana also. Small world! Glad you are joining us.

By the way, you KNOW DCL will come up with a commemorative pin for the REPO cruise - do you think they will listen to our comments and make it one per stateroom so everyone has the opportunity to get one?

If it wasn't for Sarah, I wouldn't have the Halloween pin from our Halloween cruise!!! (Love ya' kid!)

Also, think they will change the CC gift????? EVER????
Got the great bag with water bottles, but enough towels and CC pins already!!!

kpgclark...can you email me or pm me the list of who is going to be coming to K of P (adults vs. kids/teens) and I will work on something....piglet33 are you in with me??? Reneé just can't refuse me since she has to put up with me on the October cruise!!! I would be more than willing to put in a $ amount for either each of us or as a family and maybe we could all put a question or trivia on a piece of paper and the person that answers it, gets something. I will look at the Disney Store over the weekend and also look around at Wal Mart, etc.

sandygirl...I have never been at a formal dis meet but I sort of make my own meets wherever we travel...it is nice to hook up with fellow dis'ers either at lunch or dinner. Mary Jo

I'll send you a list but I'm not sure how definite anyone is. I thought we should try to get everyone to go over to the meets board so everyone will discuss in one place. One thing I know we need are name badges.

Gotta love the sales! I just picked up a couple things for the two gift swaps (10/04 cruise and this one)! I got some great stuff that I know this group would love! Been more excited about the cruises because it feels like summer is over here :sad1: If it's not rainy, it's cold or both! We're supposed to have 80s this weekend, but I won't hold my breath. :umbrella: rain, rain, go away :umbrella:
