Note that that is a US dime next to the glass.

Mary Jo says hi to all and for us to behave.

Grumbo's right about that being a picture of Jazzman's room. Here's a couple of shots of his room from previous cruises...Mark

Well, on my way to Costco (Torrance Costco, only 8 miles from the port)

Sorry to tell you that there are NO Costcos within 45 kms of the port. They are and have been closed down for months. Please don't post this type of thing on this thread!! Sheesh ;)

Cheers,
Grumbo

Ok, so I printed off the picture and put it up in a corner where nobody but me can view it! Well I had just finished telling one of the guys from the other plant about it, when low and behold, my boss comes out to my desk!

Picture this ~ He goes around my desk, pretends to stretch and glances everywhere until he spots the picture! He stops dead in his tracks! He doesn't realize that I am watching him! It was hilarious! He simply just walked away, shaking his head! Luckily I hadn't put his name on it!LOL

Then as I am leaving, I say See you Friday! I plan on taking my car in for a check up and decided to take the day off! NOT! Apparently there is a Soccer Game tomorrow afternoon! He did not think I knew! Big Meeting he says! Hey, may not get the day off but will get paid and he is paying for the Taxi to get me to work and back to the Garage! All this time, I'm just looking at the picture in my minds eye!LOL

Back on Topic ~ So did you guys buys 411 glasses? How much do we owe!LOL

Have a good evening everybody!

There are definately costcos here. They have not all been closed down.

Hi all
Well it looks like we are going to have to cancel our cabin on the ship. I was informed today that the disabled cabin we have only holds 3 people. And we would either have to purchase another cat 11 for $5000+US or hopefully luck out and get a cat 5 wheelchair accessible room but we are still looking at a $2500 increase. Honestly we can not afford this with all Ryleigh's equipment expenses ( we are still paying off her $4000 convaid stroller!) and to have to pay that much just to add an infant is ridiculous.
I am so upset. We really wanted to take Ryleigh on such an adventure now as she is getting to heavy to carry and this would have been our last MAJOR family vacation apart from WDW.I am suppose to be elated that we are adding to our family but once again, Ryleigh loses out. If she'd been normal they would have just given us a 4 person Cat 11 cabin... but she's not so she misses out as usual.
And I'm even more upset because of all those kind and giving disers who were willing to let us use their bathtubs. And the kids who were willing to help Ry and play with her on the cruise.
It's just not fair.
i am devastated and Michael will be upset too when I tell him what has happened.
It's just so unfair.:(

Hmmm no remember how they went bankrupt in Southern California ;) ;) ;)

I think my wife bought this and you guys are gonna mess it up!!

That's terrible Tigger2on!!:( This would have been the trip of a lifetime for the whole family. I would try to go higher up in Disney to see what can be done. Write to them. I don't see why they can't just have the new baby in the cabin you have now. It's not like he/she will take up much room. You are already in a handicapped cabin which is already a bit larger then other cat 11's. Try calling Disney directly...not the reservation people. Don't give up hope just yet.

thats terrible.
thats what I was talking about before. They dont HAVE to charge $5k for a cat 11. They sold plenty Cat 11 on this cruise for just over $3k- and in your situation! Shame! Barrels of pixie dust to you.

Are you listening out there, Mickey?!? Walt wouldnt have liked this!

Is this the kind of "Magical Moment" you want your customers to experience?

Funny- Mickey, Magical, Money- all begin with "M".
I see a theme here.

When I got quoted $7,200 for us by the rep on the ship last week, she said thats a good price for a 14-day cruise.
The rep on the phone today said the same thing.
Hmm. $750,000 is a good price for a Ferrari Enzo, but most of us dont have that either.

Dont give up yet! Hang in there! :)
How old is your child in the wheelchair? My kids would love to play!

Oh Suzanne I am so sorry. But Jennifer is right don't give up. I'd be calling Disney and if you don't get anywhere you might try the media. Someone isn't thinking right on this one. So the cabin is for three people. A baby isn't, I was going to say a people, but what I mean is there should be enough room to put one tiny person in there.
If necessary keep going higher in the company. Someone out there must have some intellegence.
Estelle

I'm so sorry to hear that Suzanne. I know how much you were looking forward to the trip. Try to concentrate on the happy things in life like the new baby. You have a lifetime of great adventures to come.

Hi all,
My DS ansd his summer day care class are doing a project called Flat Stanley.

Flat Stanley is a caracter in a childrens book. In the story Stanley is flattened by a bulletin board and lives for the summer as a flat child. He discovers he can be sent through the mail and visit friends all over the country and the world. I was wondering if any of you would be interested in recieving a flat stanley in the mail????? All we ask is you send him back with a little note or post card about what he saw on his trip. The kids will be keeping track on a map of every place the stanley's go. As well as learn about their world :) If anyone is interested in helping please PM me your address. All the kids are so excited about this project.
Thanks
Jen

Suzanne - What terrible news. I hope that there are other Disney higher ups you can appeal to. This is a real downer!

Paul

Hi Suzanne,
Congrats on the new baby, is there anything more wonderful ?! As for the cabin...you've said on another thread that Ryleigh doesn't care much for the characters...what does she like best about the cruise ? Can this be duplicated on another line ? Would she like a Club Med beach vacation just as well ? I have to tell you I've been worried about her, not that it is my place...there are only five shore days, so she'll only be able to play in the water on those days...and I keep thinking of how hot that stroller would be...my DS always had a wet back when he was in his carseat. My DS is ASD, so I understand about wanting to do wonderful things to make up for all that our children can't do...and while you've said that Ryleigh is nonverbal, that doesn't mean that she doesn't communicate...what does she think ? If she wants the cruise I guess you spend the money...as all of us with special needs kids do. My DH is enlisted AF, I stayed home for years with DS, and somehow you make it work. Parents of normal children have no idea !!! My DH was E4 and we were paying $900/month for speech and $450/month for behavioral services (this was 1994)...talk about debt !!! And it is not over yet...DS has an appt in August which will cost another $5000 that isn't covered by insurance. I would talk to Ryleigh about it, think about the baby , and then make a decision. This thread gives a huge amount of importance to this cruise, but in the end it is just a trip. You have a wonderful new baby to think about, and a daughter that brings you joy...that is as good as it gets.

Grumbo,

Your dd and mine are e-mailing, and thus that makes your dw and I future buddies. So, I will be happy to take her to our local Costco in Signal Hill that is only 5 minutes from the Queen Mary. I know just the place to park and which line goes the quickest. And, I know the store inside out.

So, be good! LOL! Now, what is your dw's e-mail addy?!!!

Barbara;)

Dear Suzanne,

I am so sorry to hear about this. Keep trying, I believe in the power of pixie dust and disney magic.

Praying it works out for you and yours,

Barbara
