Using a map programme it shows 3.8 kms (2.5 miles) really close.

Cheers,
Grumbo

Grumbo, Per Mark's request, I'm working on transportation. Busses are all tied up, but it looks like I can rent 100 Segways pretty cheap from DL.

Are you sure you want to go to a game. I checked the Angels website and found this info:

Costco Stadium of Anaheim: Home of the Angels

Renovations to Anaheim Stadium began Oct. 1, 1996, reverting the 30-year old structure back to a baseball-only facility. On Sept. 15, 1997, the renovated stadium's new name was announced: Edison International Field of Anaheim. On Dec. 29, 2003, the Angels announced the stadium would be renamed Costco Stadium of Anaheim. Total cost for the stadium renovation was estimated at $100 million and the project was completed in time for the Anaheim Angels Opening Day, April 1, 1998.

Bob this wouldn't surprise me in the least.
The tickets are $12 but I'm sure by the time you buy snacks, beer, souvenirs, and God knows what else it will be $250 plus!!!
Just like a normal visit to Costco. ;)
I think the Segway idea rocks. I'll consult with Jazz and we may give you some financial backing on this.
We're still working on the HoJo's to Holiday Inn San Pedro Marathon. Charging the sisters $75 to enter, and then starting at 2 am on Saturday morning until 11 am.
We will then whisk the competitors to the waiting ship for a $25.00 fee where once on board we will provide sodas and ice tea on the rear of Deck 9.
We will be providing t shirts to all contestants of this race. Don't lose out on this opportunity of a lifetime ladies.

Cheers,
Grumbo

Angels stadium

You can take ART, or the OCTA to get there. look at their websites. ART you can go from DL to the stadium.

I would not suggest walking to the stadium. It is an extremely busy street, and you must pass walk by some busy intersections.

If you have a car it will be a quick ride.

I'm currently putting together all sorts of transportation info, hope to have it to Tracy by tomorrow, and jason soon after.

I contacted Roberto from the Acapulco port authority that posts on cruise critic. He has signed up and created a thread on the cruise line forum. Go on over and take a look.

Hey Grumbo/Jazzman- I found a place to hold the "sisterhood's" special events night at:

Hooters
Hooters Acapulco is the best place to enjoy your favorite sport, accompanied by a great atmosphere, including our famous Hooters Girls. Enjoy delicious chicken wings, Buffalo style, seafood, salads, sandwiches, and other specialties. We have air conditoning, television and screens with every type of sports transmission, both national and international from the United States.

Since they'll already have the uniforms, they'll fit right in. If we're lucky they may even pick up some serving lessons...Mark

Val, I can't believe they closed schools here in Denver. The roads are very passable if you like driving through rivers! I think we got 24" here in Littleton.

~THANK YOU TRACY AND BILL!!! (winotracy)~

I arrived home from work today, more tired than usual and admittedly feeling rather crabby. Low and behold, in our mailbox was a huge package envelope. A smile began to spread over my face! I took the package and it was for my dd and ds from Tracy (winotracy) and Bill! Even more excitement surged throughout my spirit. My online buddy had sent something special to my children…how wonderfully kind and thoughtful is that?! Well, I knew I needed to wait for the kids to open it. And just then, Brian and Marissa drove in to our driveway. I excitedly told Mari that she and Matt have a package! She began to do her tween happy dance. Unfortunately, Matt was not home, he at his friends house until 6:30 p.m. So, as Mari begged to open it, we let her do so! :flower:

Inside was the most wonderful book called “How I Became a Pirate.” We perused the text, and it reads delightfully! In addition, the illustrations are magnificent!!! Tracy also wrote a special note to the kids which is very special.

We cannot wait to read the book after dinner Tracy! Marissa will read it to us. And, although Matt is our teen, he still has a heart of a kid who loves pirates, and we know he will enjoy it very much too! :pirate:

This book is a treasure to us, one in which we’ll always remember the Ship of Fools, particularly you and Bill.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!! You made this in to a grand day and pre-travel adventure!!! :grouphug:

Yeah, unbelievable! What were they thinking?? All the roads were clear this morning and dry by afternoon, and though some of the sidewalks weren't, if you're a kid, which do you choose, a cleared sidewalk or 10 inches of snow that you can stomp through and leave your footprints in? Duh!

:cheer2: :cheer2: THANK YOU TRACY AND BILL!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

I went to the mailbox today..didn't run this time, but took a nice stroll on driveway!! :rotfl2: I saw a parcel for Brianne and Alex and saw that it was from the Whipples. Since i didn't come to Dis until tonight, since this morning, i was wondering what it was. I knew my kids will be excited since they LOVE getting mail (like me!! :rotfl2:), since they infrequent get mail anyway. When the got home, i told them they got mail, and of course, both of them dashed to kitchen counter. Of course, they looked at the return label and wondered who they were. I explained to them. They both opened it together. It was a book on "How I become a Pirate" and a special letter enclosed. They thought it was so cool. Brianne didn't think the book was to young for her at all, and of course, Alex loved it as well for he loves Pirates. They were planning to read it later since we went out for the evening and by the time we got back, they had to go to bed. i told them they can read it tomorrow. They were fighting who get to read it first but i told them tomorrow night theycan read it toghether. Alex was not satisified that he had to wait til tomorrow night, but he bought it to his room and put it on his desk. I checked on him lil later, just about 45 mins ago, and he had the little light on and was started to read the book. That lil Stinker!!!! So now the book is my bedroom, which i am going to read it later!!! :teeth:

Thanks so much again, Tracy and Bill for making my kids more special. It was actually perfect timing to send it, for it's Brianne biirthday is on Wed and Alex's birthday was a few weeks ago. Also, they didn't realized that the Disney cruise has a Pirate night now, which it got them more excited!! :Pinkbounc

Brainne is going to send you a personal letter tomorrow... ;)

What are we doing so far down on the page? Just a little bump up. Do you think the westbound cruise is going to pass us up in the next 30 days? :rotfl2:

Don't forget -- newsletter comes out on Friday which means (Janet) I need your information to be included. This includes upcoming birthdays and anniversaries. Of course this issue will only have April 15 - April 30, but feel free to send any to me that are coming up before we cruise! We've got two more turning 50 in the last half of the month (Verandah Man and my DH  ). Whatever I get that doesn't fit in the newsletter (or arrives too late), will go in the next newsletter.

I would also like to start putting articles from our past issues and current issues on the Westbound Thread and possibly the list of events (just my table with when they will occur and who is in charge). If anyone is opposed to this, let me know. And finally we'll see about getting port reports from the westbounders when they return for the June and July newsletters.

For those that are interested in going to CiCi Waterpark in Acapulco. I asked how this place is on the Acapulco thread and got this response.

ACA_Port Authority said:
The CICI waterpark is a great place to go for families with children, it has a big wave pool, slides, water guns, and a dolpin show. It costs $7 USD per person, they also rent lockers to leave your valuables while swimming. Since it's beach side property you can go to the sea for banana boat rides, jet skis, etc. It's located 15 minutes away from the cruise terminal.

I don't think we're going to do the DCL excursion since that is $45 per person. We'll probably just take a cab from the Port to the waterpark since it will be extremely cheaper.

BTW - here is a link to the Acapulco thread that Donna posted about: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=789070&page=1&pp=15
